Praise for Take a Chance on Me
” The latest in Porter’s “Love on Chance Avenue” series (Miracle on Chance Avenue) is her best yet. She does an excellent job of making Marietta itself a strong character, while adding humor, charm, and swoons to great effect. Mandy and Ty are engaging romantic foils, with Bette’s meddling sweetness always there to stir the pot. This series continues to get better and better.” – Library Journal

Book 3 in Miracle on Chance Avenue series. All are stand alone books.
Amanda Wright is the middle Wright sister and has a successful salon. She has always been very independent and strives to prove she was better than her past.
Tyler Justice shows up to make sure that no one is taking advantage of his grandmother and to try and convince her to move to his house.
Bette, is Tyler’s grandmother and she is absolutely delightful secondary character. Tyler and Amanda butt heads as they work through misunderstandings regarding Bette. Bette is known as a matchmaker around town and seems to be trying to work her magic on Amanda and Tyler, in spite of telling them that she was not.
I enjoyed this newest story in the series and look forward to the next one. If you like a fairly quick read that has fun characters, with a strong heroine and a hero with a soft spot for his gram, you will love this story!
An easy read that flows well. It had me hooked after just the first few pages. I loved Tyler and Amanda. I wanted the story to be longer.
Take a Chance on Me is written by Jane Porter. It is Miracle on Chance Avenue Book 3.
It is the story of Amanda and Tyler.
Amanda is very sensible, smart and kind. She is a hair stylist who loves the town she lives in. She loves her job, her hair salon and her clients. She has plans for her future, and is just waiting to be able to make them come true. Bette is the one person in town that is not only her favorite client, but someone she cares for deeply.
Tyler is very successful and handsome. He is a game designer tech living in Austin, Texas. He has been trying to convince his grandmother to move with him to Texas. He doesn’t understand the fight Bette is putting up wanting to stay in the small town of Marietta. He wants her where he can take care of her easier, afraid that her years have made her a bit more delicate.
Bette asks Amanda for help in convincing Tyler that it is best for her to stay at her home in Marietta. Amanda has no choice but to help Bette.
Tyler has doubt about Amanda’s love for his grandmother. He is afraid that she is taking care of his grandmother’s generosity. When he gets to Marietta, he is determined to find out the truth about Amanda and put her in her place. He doesn’t know what to do when he realizes that Amanda really does care for Bette, and isn’t the person he thought she was. He also doesn’t know what to do when Amanda starts to pull at his heart strings.
Neither Tyler or Amanda are looking for a relationship. When they start to form a strong connection, a family secret from long ago might destroy their chance at love.
I really enjoyed Tyler and Amanda’s story. It was a sweet, small town romance with a hidden family secret. I like how Tyler and Amanda each had goals for their life and weren’t afraid to pursue them. Loved a few lines from the book: “There is no such thing as too much love” and :”You don’t reach 80 without having some game”.
Love! Love! Love! I loved reading Take a Chance on Me by Jane Porter, the third book in her Love on Chance Avenue series. Amanda Wright loves living in Marietta and being friends with her client eighty-year old Bette Justice. Bette asked her to help convince her grandson, Tyler, that staying in Marietta is the right place for her and Amanda can’t say no. Tyler Justice, a successful game designer, is determined to take care of his grandmother and believes the young friend she keeps mentioning, Amanda, is taking advantage of Bette and her generosity. Once Tyler reaches Marietta he finds Amanda isn’t who or what he thought and unexpectedly becomes attracted to her. Unfortunately a long-buried family secret might destroy their chance at love.
I really loved reading this book and didn’t want to put this book down, reading it in one day. Ms. Porter is a wonderful story teller and she always draws me into her books, making me forget the world around me. I highly recommend this book to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Take a Chance on Me by Jane Porter
This book starts out with Ty James and he has Amanda Wright styling his hair at her salon.
She falls in love with his masculine looks (she and her sister Charity are romance novel addicts).
Later Bette stops in with lunch before her weekly visit and she learns now who Tyler really is-Bette’s grandson.
She is able to track him down at The Graff Hotel and lets him know she doesn’t like the deception of arriving early and not letting his grandmother know he’s in town.
He’s a game developer and he learns his grandmother wanted Amanda to show him around town to show how much she loved this area and she’s busy in the community.
Love catching up with other characters in the town of Marietta, MT as I’ve read all the books and other author’s works from this area.
Ty is really there because his grandmother wants to change her will to leave everything to Amanda and he just wants to check her out-make sure she’s not being taken advantage of.
Ty has to leave due to the tech giant talks but his mind is still on Amanda and Marietta.
Love the idea of the birthday club and what’s all involved-prescious!
Like how this book brings it all together full circle with other books and families in the series.
Other works and excerpts from the series are included.
Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.
This was a sweet small town romance that warmed my heart and left me smiling. The plot is simple but fun and I loved these characters especially Bette Justice, Ty’s well meaning meddling Grandma. Maybe it’s her name 😉 !
Amanda is a hometown Marietta girl and happy with her choice stay right there. She loves the life she’s built. It hasn’t always been easy considering where she came from but she’s put the past behind her and right now life is good. Tyler Justice comes to Marietta to try and convince his stubborn Grandmother to move with him to Austin. He’s convinced she’s being taken advantage of and he won’t have it! Once he meets and gets to know Amanda he realizes he’s got it all wrong.
This was a great relaxing read that I’d definitely recommend to everyone.
