A Heartbreaking Fantasy RomanceEvery kingdom has an origin… this is Manor Saffron’s founding story. There are four great Manors across Terra that care for the angels cast from Celestia, but it had not always been that way. I don’t think I would recommend this book as a stand alone. There were points in the beginning of the story where I was confused because I didn’t know anything about this world. There’s pretty much no world building in the story. After reading the book I know only a few things about this world and its people. There is lots of action, danger and magic I just feel it could have been filled out some more. I would give this book around a PG13 rating mostly for the violence.
What a great story of hope, sacrifice, passion, and love. Valeria and Nile come together to help each other and shake up the foundation between the Angels and Demons.
Valeria’s story is interesting and intriguing, exploring lots of Light and Dark theories. Lots of angst, action, and suspense. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
Valerie is a wingless angel surviving her world. She needs to learn what a Windborn is and how to save her home. Nile is a young Hallowed that wants to try and stop the demons in the world. Will Valerie be his answer to ending the Darkness? Can Nile guide her through her fight?
“At first I wasn’t sure this was a standalone considering how it started, was more likely to be a flashback rather than the beginning but turns out it was indeed the beginning. To be honest I didn’t quite understood right the story from chapter 1 to 9 so many things were happening and the confrontation between the angels and demons was like I said confusing until chapter 9 things started to become more interesting. One thing I discovered with this story is that even though I like fantasy and PNR stories if there’s no romance there aren’t my thing. The moment Valeria met Nile I was ready for the everlasting love between them and the heat moments but sadly there were pretty much nonexistent. If you, like me are more into the scenes that could burn kindles well don’t bother waiting for them. There was a point in the story when something happened but not with a single detail it was more like they hinted it happened which indeed occurred but not between them exactly. I don’t know how to put in words that scene but I’d high hopes about high level scenes after that hint but well more than a clean romance it was a pure one. LOL. But I must confess that the sweetness between the characters was somehow heart melting. Like I said, my kind of stories are more **fan fan ** so main couples practically want the action after they met so there are no holding hands, hugs and sweet touches (like kid love) so seeing those innocent moments between them was something I don’t often get to see. About the plot, it was interesting still confusing but good. Another thing that particularly didn’t like was too much description. Not that this was a bad thing but I’m a romantic so I crave for the heat, connection and chemistry of the characters not so much the deep story around them so it was way too much for me. All the details at some point bored me but I loved the multiple POVs (Valeria, Niel, Xorn, Ferdinand) seeing a story from different points of view is always a plus. The ending was sweet somehow yet the lack of heat was a down for me but in a clean sweet style it was good. Like the author said ‘loss and triumph’. This is the second book I read from this author and I came to realize that her style is not my liking. Not saying that her stories are bad it’s more that… what I look for in stories I couldn’t found it on hers but again it’s my personal option not that the books are bad just not my thing.”
A beautiful story full of love, sacrifice, sorrow and hope. I really enjoyed the characters and loved this magical story with angels and demons and so much more!
This book was wonderful! The writing was superb!! Lots of suspense!
