The best laid plans… He planned on telling Marisa his story and end his existence. It was no coincidence Corgan selected Marisa to write his story. With the ability to see the future, he knew she would be a major part of it. He knew she would be the one to help him die, but in doing so, she’d be doomed to the same fate. Once they met, their futures would be irrevocably intertwined.
Corgan began caring for Marisa and finally revealed the truth to her. He admitted his quest to atone for his past sins had put her in grave danger from a nest of revenge-seeking vampires. Corgan must claim her for her own protection. But claiming her is not enough, he must ask for help from his wizard friends and his maker in order to destroy his enemy or Marisa will never be safe.

“A Vampire’s Tale” is not about the typical Hollywood vampire with which everyone is familiar. Corgan Halton sets the reader straight in telling his life’s story. Corgan is a well-written, full-bodied character who is brilliantly described in this tale. He has a lot of depth and grows even more as the story progresses. Marisa Clements is artistic and a wordsmith, the perfect biographer for Corgan. She can be hard-headed and tangled up with folk-tales about vampires, but she is loyal to Corgan. It is interesting to see how the “magicals” all interact in order to achieve a common goal when the wizards help to protect Marisa at Corgan’s bidding. The world building is excellent as we get to know Corgan’s lair, Marisa’s home, and Waldor’s abode. Another vampire, Dee, adds darkness as well as humor to this enlightening story of good and evil. An unusual story, a must read for vampire lovers everywhere!
If you love reading about vampires, then you will fall in love with this story. Marisa falls in to finding out that what she thought was something she wrote can be alive. What do you do when you find out that vampires are real? Maybe the story that Marisa has been writing was base of the memories of Corgan. This was a wonderful twist of vampires and mystery. Find that one you fall hard for but what happens when you write the end? Highly recommend this book
BRVL –Book Review Virginia Lee
Corgan Halton is very handsome, very old and very powerful. He is a vampire who feels it is time to end his existence but first wants to tell his tale. He chooses a struggling writer, Marisa Clements, as the one to write his story. Corgan can see into the future although it is not clear. There are two things he does know, she is the best. one to write his story but if she does, she will be in great danger. Marisa is unaware of how he has been manipulating her life and she also unaware of the potential for danger. Marisa currently writes a gossip column but hating that she was trying to write a book about vampires. All she knows is how great this story would be for her career. There is a connection between them both physically and mentally.
This is an amazing contemporary paranormal romance with danger and suspense woven into it to make it even more enjoyable. The characters are well crafted and full of personality, so much so, that they seem to pop off the page. Within the first two chapters, I was hooked and wanted more. The storyline weaves together, danger, magic, action, suspense and of course romance, into an emotional rollercoaster full of surprising twists and unexpected turns that keep going right to the end. The thing I enjoyed most was the verbal and mind interaction between the two main characters. I really wanted a happy ending for them in spite of the constant obstacles placed in their way. If you like paranormal romances chalked full of action and suspense then give this book a read.

A humdrum writer, Marisa, getting the story of a lifetime….writing the life of a Vampire in his own words!! Why choose her to tell it? Great book but a little predictable in the storyline.

Marisa Clements is a fiction writer and loves to write about vampires but of course, she knows they are not real until she meets a real (or dead/undead) live vampire that is, Corgan Halton. Marisa grew tired of her mundane life so she gave up her job to follow her dreams of becoming a fiction writer and hopes that one day it will pay the bills.
Corgan is tired of living and has made a date with the sun. He has lived a very long time as he is probably hundreds of years old. He is tired of the same old mundane life. But before he goes he wants to put his story out there for others to read so that they will know the truth; that vampires are real and let the world know that what they know about vampires is not all true and let them in on all their little secrets. He has chosen Marisa as the right person for the job.
After spending time together with Corgan telling Marisa his life story and how he became a vampire Corgan and Marisa start to have feelings for each other and it is not long before the sparks start to fly. The sparks start flying pretty quickly but who can blame Marisa with such a gorgeous man as Corgan standing in front of her.
Corgan has a little baggage that he brings along to the party. There is a vampire out there that wants to destroy Corgan for what he did to his family of vampires a few years back. This vampire wants to make Corgan pay for what he did all those years ago and has been fighting Corgan for many years. Now this vampire is after Marisa he figures if he can get his hands on her he can punish Corgan. Corgan has no intentions of letting this vampire or anyone else get his hands on Marisa he will fight to the death to save her.
I have truly enjoyed reading Corgan and Marisa’s story. I loved all the new twists that the author created for the way vampires live and the magic things they are capable of doing. A Vampire’s Tale puts a whole new twist on vampires. I would recommend A Vampire’s Tale to anyone who loves reading about vampires.
