Rory is an animal lover. In his mind, any veterinarian who does as much pro bono work as Louise, the local vet, deserves his help when she gets into trouble…Louise works long hours at her own veterinarian clinic. When she receives an unexpected delivery one day, complete with a dead deliveryman, a domino-series of events puts her and her clinic full of precious animals in danger. Rory is the …
Rory is the first to volunteer to keep her safe. Professional reasons quickly become personal. Louise is everything he’s ever wanted and never expected to find in a single woman. He’s looking forward to a future together, and the only way to ensure that is to stop whatever’s endangering her and her animals.
Unfortunately, the killer isn’t leaving a witness to his crimes. At first, Rory and the team at Legendary Securities make headway in discovering what’s going on, but the tables turn in an instant and, for the first time since he joined the team, Rory’s vision of a satisfactory resolution–and happily-ever-after–may not be in the cards.

Another exciting book from Dale. Rory is at loose ends after helping his brother so he goes to Levi’s compound. Louise is a vet and works long hours. One day she gets a delivery she shouldn’t have. Things get kind of rough and Rory is to protect her. Lots of action and loving pets. Another great read.
Oh my, Levi and Ice’s crew with puppies!!!! That dang near had me drooling. Okay so I was drooling…but seriously…Rory and the puppy Rose is a match made in Levi’s hell.
Louise is their vet and with the number of puppies she couldn’t feed all of them herself so she dropped them off at Levi’s and the guys are seriously in love with the entire litter. Of course Levi keeps saying no to any of them staying, but you and I know better. To be honest I don’t think they’re ever going to go to Anna and Flynn for adoption.
Louise has another problem and she really doesn’t know how to ask for help. It’s Rory who sees it and calls her on it while they were all at dinner. Her response surprised them all.
Rory stops a break-in but one of the bad guys gets away, not before killing the two Rory had captured. This only emphasizes the need for better security for Louise’s Clinic. A lot of back and forth regarding cost with Ice and Rory then Louise had me giggling. You know they aren’t going to let friends be in harms way.
Lot’s of tension as the body count rises, animal babies abound and there is definitely a cuteness overload with the puppies.
The relationship between Rory and Louise is a simmer to sizzle that is perfect. These two are definitely meant for each other.
I’m going to start the next book in this series, I am almost caught up.
Ms Mayer’s heroes are always swoon worthy. Louise is the local vet and somehow found herself caught up in the drug world. Rory a former military man and security expert is her Knight in Shining Armour. Bodies are piling up, break-ins are occuring at the clinic and her home. Is she safe anywhere? Murder, mayhem and heart stopping moments are softened with baby animals and romance. This book has it all and even a few teary moments. I spent an afternoon curled up engrossed in this book. I loved it and hope you do too.

I really loved how Louise is known to the group so they have a familiarity with her but also you can feel the warmth and protectiveness they have towards her so you know when she is in trouble they are going to help her whether she likes it or not. After receiving a package of medication for her vet practice that were not for animals at all things go from bad to worse for Louise luckily she has some kick ar$e friends who will help her out and it doesn’t hurt the Rory was taken by her when he first arrived not knowing he could help her weeks later. There is loads of action, suspense, killers and a good bit of romance.
This is a fairly good book, easy to read and enjoyable. I follow the Seal of Honor-Heroes for Hire book, but this one didn’t have that much action. Still enjoyable.
This entire series of books is great.
Love this series
I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
What a delightful story. I loved the addition of the puppies!!!! The characters and the plot were beautifully developed and very realistic. The story is fascinating to read. It just immediately drew me in. It was very hard to put down. The scenes were told in a way that I could picture them in my mind like an action movie. I love the addition of prior characters showing up in this series. After reading their stories, it is like saying hello to good friends again.
This book and really the entire series is a must read for anyone!!! I highly recommend.
Great series. Start from beginning. Don’t miss it
LOVE THIS AUTHUR, THIS WAS A GREAT BOOK
Rory’s Rose by Dale Mayer
Heroes for Hire Series Book Twelve
Rory Bellamy isn’t sure where he belongs right now. The ranch he grew up on and helped run the last nine months…isn’t home anymore. It’s more his dad and brother’s place. And now…Legendary Security’s big building doesn’t seem like home either. Until a chubby puppy waddles up to him. Maybe this place wouldn’t be so bad.
Louise is a busy veterinarian. The past five years she’s been getting her clinic going and hasn’t had much time for socializing. Life might not be overexciting away from work…but she loves what she does. And then everything changed and life became very different when she got a delivery meant for someone else. Thank goodness for Levi and Ice and their security business to help her through this.
Cute puppies, bad…very bad, people, and romance come together to make another great, action-packed adventure for the folks connected to Legendary.

REVIEW FOR “RORY’S ROSE”
I’d give this one more than 5 stars if I could!
Just finished reading Rory’s Rose. Awash in sweet emotion for Rory and Louise and also Mona Lisa, Moonrise, and the six adorable puppies fostered in the compound. The excitement, the action, and the planning to survive and outwit the bad guys on a killing spree because of a delivery error. Wow! …
I want to see this one in a movie!!
Fantastic!
Any time animals are included in an otherwise amazing story, the outcome is completely heartfelt. This story hooked my heart from the very beginning. Chubby bellied puppies are the sweetest and most innocent little loves. This is the lead-up that sucks you into this fantastic book!
Right away the threat and danger are eating up the pages when veterinarian, Louise gets involved in the drug trade by accident. From that moment her entire vet clinic and the innocent animals inside, it is in danger as well as Louise herself. Rory has decided that he needs to keep watch over her and almost immediately there are multiple murders right there at her clinic!
Levi, Ice and the rest of the team from Legendary Securities are all on board for keeping Louise’s veterinary clinic safe. These are the innocents that they are meant to protect. It’s a good thing too because this is no neighborhood gang looking for drugs. This is serious stuff.
This story has it all. There is danger and suspense as well as the very protective, hot, sexy Rory. Combine all that with sweet, adorable newborn animals and you have another winner! Excellent job! I loved it!
When hearts and trouble collide – sparks fly.
We continue Dale Mayer’s Heros For Hire (Bk 12) series, with Rory’s Rose. She continues to weave her words with amazing, high stakes suspense and drama. It’s a backdrop that many are familiar with – the very place where we take our beloved family pets when they aren’t doing well. It’s Louise’s, Veterinary Clinic. I don’t think Levi’s compound is ever going to be the same again with a bunch of adorable puppies that have captured the hearts of the Security residents. This little side story, a beautiful piece woven into the threads of this high stakes suspense story. Danger at it’s worst is lurking on the footsteps of Louise’s clinic. She has unwittingly found herself caught up in a drug cartel transportation scheme that has gone terribly wrong. Those caught up are being taken out. Louise is a marked target.
New to Levi’s team, Rory is feeling a little lost, He’s quiet, hard working and trying to find his way. To find his purpose again in life. To find where he fits comfortably. Wanting to find his home.
No sooner has Rory arrived then a litter of gorgeous, puppies and their vet are there. He takes notice of Louise and one of the pups… the Security family take note also. Yes, they now instinctively… it’s only a matter of time before these two find their together. How they get there will take the efforts of all the team, working hard together to ensure Louise’s safety. Louise has become an unwitting target – to be exterminated by this nefarious drug cartel. Rory will do his all to prevent anything happening to her.
If you love that slow build of respect, friendship that sparks into romance, amid dramatic suspense/intrigue, story twists and turns… what are you all waiting for? Dale Mayer delivers this and more, in another page turning Heroes for Hire book.
Even when we feel lost, the human spirit is quite remarkable to find ways to adapt and cope with the situation’s life deals us with mental fortitude. To think and not panic.
This book is a think tank, intelligent, stimulating conversation, helping and supporting family, friends when they need help the most. They are highly observant of all that surrounds them. This is Levi’s team and now Rory and Louise become part of that ever growing family.
As with Dale’s books this can be read alone but to gain that sense of family and friendship dynamics, catch up on previous team members and even gain a glimpse into what’s coming next – this entire series is a highly recommended read.
Thank you Dale Mayer for another enjoyable read. I enjoyed the plot! It made me stop and think how easy that could happen to anyone who receives shipments. I was thrilled that Rory was human. Alpha yes, but it is not 100% predictable, thank you Dale! Louise, well what can I say, compassionate, strong and loving. Hmmm sounds a little like Rory, but Louise had a dollop of humor to 🙂 And the cherry on top? Puppies! Foals! Yessssss. I requested this arc and volunteer my honest review.
