A restaurant heiress, a dating app, and the cowboy just down the street she’s sworn off…May Sotheby is the heiress to the ritziest restaurant in Grape Seed Falls. In business for over a hundred years, her father wants the restaurant in Texas Hill Country to stay in the family for generations to come, so he lays down some hard news for May: She has one year to find a husband or the restaurant … the restaurant where she’s worked since a teen will go to her already-married sister.
Frustrated with the cowboy-only dating scene in Grape Seed Falls and needing to find a beau fast, she joins an online dating website, TexasFaithful, hoping to find her soul mate without having to relocate–or deal with cowboy hats and boots. She has no idea that Kurt Pemberton, foreman at Grape Seed Ranch, is the man she starts communicating with.
Kurt can’t get off the ranch much, so TexasFaithful is ideal for him to meet potential women without wasting time. As he nears fifty, he finds his patience for finding the right woman waning, and the Christian dating website fixes all that.
When he learns May is the beautiful woman he’s been corresponding with, he couldn’t be happier. May, however, is scared off by the close proximity of Kurt, the big white cowboy hat, and the expectations of her family. If she’d known she was courting the cowboy all this time, she might not have done it. Will May be able to follow her heart so she can keep Kurt and her restaurant?

I listened to the audio version of this book. The narration was ok. I think I would have enjoyed it more if there had been a male and female narrator. Although the narrator did a pretty decent job, it was hard for me to picture a rugged cowboy.
Kurt and May had an interesting start to their relationship and seemed to connect pretty quickly. I never completely saw them as a “love” connection. It felt to be like they became really good friends who loved one another and had a love of cooking in common.
I did pick up hints of a more intense, romantic type of relationship periodically while listening, but they always seemed to fizzle out.
I felt sorry for Kurt because he made adjustments in his lifestyle and behavior so that May could have what she wanted and be the person she thought she wanted to be at that time. I could understand his hurt at the retirement party. I could feel his pain as he made a difficult decision in his life.
May was so wrapped up in herself and what she thought she wanted, that I never felt like she really “saw” Kurt until almost the end.
Even at the end, I had to wonder about May’s decision. Was it truly based on love, or a timeline she had in her head? Ultimately, Kurt and May did manage to reach their HEA. I would rate this at 3.5 stars.
I voluntarily listened to and reviewed this audio book received from the author.
I really enjoyed these characters – we’ve seen them a bit before. It was cool to see opposites work together. The cooking angle was fun to see. It was a good segue transition book from the Carvers to the Royals. I’m excited to see what’s next for this ranch.
Can May and Kurt have a chance of happiness and love together? They met via a date app but they connected fast. She needs a husband to get the family restaurant but the restaurant keep her so busy that she has no time for anyone. Kurt is ready to settle again but he needs May attention too. A difficult situation because they love each other. Will love win? Good audiobbok
This is a sweet and clean story of Kurt and May who are mature (older) adults and still searching for their HEA, so glad they found each other. May had determined to never again fall for a cowboy, but Kurt showed her that they are not all the same.
I received a free copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving this review.
** Audiobook Review ** What a phenomenal story. May & Kurt have been introduced in previous Grape Seed Falls seriee books and their story came to life when they signed up for online dating and were matched. Both are older adults who think this is their “last chance” at finding their soulmate. They both work long hours so being able to chat and/or spend time together is a struggle but they make it work. Like any other couple, they have their ups & downs but thankfully, love overrules and prevails so this couple can have their HEA. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR & listen to this audiobook p, as well as the entire series. If audiobooks aren’t your thing, read the books!
5 stars overall, 5 stars narration, 5 stars story
A totally charming romance between mature people
First of all, I absolutely loved the narration. The narrator Carolina McLaughlin was enthusiastic, funny, and completely captivating. Her voices for the characters were all distinctive and pleasing to my ear. The Texas accents sounded authentic. She is fantastic at male, female, old, and young characters. The narrator’s slightly raspy voice was especially suited to this mature couple.
I loved the story as well. This is the first book by Liz Isaacson that I have experienced, and I will definitely look for more of her books. “Courting the Cowboy” is a breath of fresh air in contemporary romance. It doesn’t fall into stupid clichés. The story stayed modern, smart, and romantic. I loved both main characters, May (38 years old) and Kurt (46). I also loved their dogs, a poodle and a border collie. May is a busy pastry chef and restaurant manager, and Kurt is a cowboy/foreman on a ranch. Kurt is a wonderful, humble, respectful guy. The way that they met and dated was so charming! In addition, the descriptions of the wonderful food that they cooked together were mouthwatering. By the way, the Christian aspect was present in the story, but it was not mentioned too often to bother non-Christians, I think. The main characters simply had faith in God and occasionally prayed for guidance.
This audiobook would be perfect for any readers looking for sweet romance, foodie characters, cute dogs, cowboys, and/or older characters. I highly recommend it! I received a free copy via AudiobookObsession, and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

Audiobook Review: Courting the Cowboy (Grape Seed Falls #4) by: Liz Isaacson (Author), Caroline McLaughlin (Narrator)
Courting the Cowboy is a reminder that the best surprises could lie in the most obvious possibilities. Isaacson charmed me with simple. It’s the characters that made everything complicated. Actions speak louder than words. May and Kurt bring humor to heartache in the sweetest lesson of all. Learning how to love.
Kurt & May Cook Up a Sweet Romance!
Courting the Cowboy: Christian Contemporary Romance
Grape Seed Falls Romance, Book 4
By: Liz Isaacson
Narrated by: Caroline McLaughlin
This original story is a well written & well told. The storylines are interesting and the characters are likable and well developed. There was a nice chemistry between the two leads, May Southerly and Kurt Pemberton. They 1st met on a dating site but when their Spring Jubilee Congressional cook-off competition turned into pairs they decided to team up. A great way to start a relationship and to get to know each other. Both are career orientated, with May working in her families restaurant and Kurt on the ranch. Can their relationship survive their careers, can their careers survive their relationship. This story shows compromise, while I thought it was going to go one way it went the other. Thank you for this beautiful and enjoyable story.
I listened to the audio edition, Caroline McLaughlin does a nice job narrating and performing all the voices. She switches characters effortlessly and keeps the story in a perfect flow. Thank you for the great listen.

Courting the Cowboy: Christian Contemporary Romance
Grape Seed Falls Romance, Book 4
By: Author Liz Isaacson
Narrated by: Caroline Huang McLaughlin
When characters cook together, I am immediately immersed in their story. May is getting ready to take over her parents restaurant, and needs to find a husband to meet their criteria. Jumping on the web, she joins a matchmaking site. When paired with Kurt, a cowboy, she is both attracted to him and concerned that another cowboy will not work out for her. When their churches have a cooking contest that requires pairs, the two team up to make the best meal. But will their attraction and enjoyment in the kitchen be enough to hold them together? I loved this book. From the mac and cheese to these two figuring out what makes them happy. Their age is not the typical new adult or early 30’s but it is refreshing to have a story revolving around the late 30’s and 40’s. A certain level of maturity is in place and I think the thought processes are a little different as they find their way. With a lot tears, smiles and pecan pie, their faith is what truly brings them through..
Caroline McLaughlin is a wonderful narrator. I love her voices and inflections that she has. I especially love that her voice is very comforting, it has that warm quality of home. I loved her performance.

I really enjoy reading Liz’s books. May and Kurt has an instant chemistry, but their relationship is like a rollercoaster (up and down). I couldn’t put this book down. Love this book, highly recommend
I love Liz Isaacson, her novels are truly wonderful! It is hard to find an author who can distinguish between a Christian Romance Novel and a Contemporary Romance Novel, but Ms. Isaacson does it and she does it well! I highly recommend every novel that I have read, and I hope that every novel I plan to read in the future is of the same quality!
“Courting the Cowboy” proves the age ole question: what would you do and how far will you go for love? In this story, one will find two individuals, a cook and a cowboy. One of these will be looking for love and the other will be looking to retain their inheritance. It is important to pay attention to details when reading this novel, for you just might miss when a relationship shifts from a necessary action to a matter of the heart.
I recommend this twelve novel series, each one is better than the last. Very well written, it’s like a story coming off the pages before your very eyes.
I have loved each and every one of her books that I’ve read !!!!
May is under pressure to find a boyfriend that is husband material before her parents will consider fulfilling her life-long dream of turning the family restaurant over to her. After running out of dating material in Grape Seed Falls, May turns to a dating app and comes across Kurt’s profile. Kurt on the other hand, has had his fingers burnt and whilst he was happy to avoid female entanglements, as he gets older, he discovers that he is lonely and longs for companionship other than the other cowboys on the ranch and his dog. The one thing they both have in common is a love of cooking. When the rules of the annual cooking challenge are changed, it makes sense for Kurt and May to team up and they find that they have more in common than a love for good food. Kurt soon realises that May is the woman he has been waiting for, but discovers that May has a difficult time finding space for him in her busy schedule. Choices have to be made and at the end of the day, both Kurt and May have to decide what is really important. This story about mature love is clean and well written and gives hope to those who have not found their life partner, that there is still someone for everyone. I particularly enjoyed Kurt’s mature and unruffled character and felt for him when May vacillated between him and meeting the needs of her family restaurant. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
