Wonderful! I finished this book and start reading the next one in no time.
I think I liked this one even better than Crave to Conquer since we find out more about the main characters in this book and they start being honest about themselves and their thoughts and feelings.
It’s beeen refreshing to read a book about a romantic relationship with such great dialogues and interaction between the main characters. Due to their situtation, Drocco and Cailyn are forced to face their inner fears, cravings, expectations and feelings about each other. They have real conversations and this is an alpha/omega relationship! I mean, I love that, actually many contemporary romance books don’t even bother to approach themes that are treated here.
Their time in the logde is meaningful and determining about their future relationship. And oh my gosh, so much angst! They go from suffering so much to finally open up and share information about their backgrounds and what they worry the most. I’ve really enjoyed how they are both willing to make an effort and listen to the other point of view. And think seriously about it.
This book is an emotional rollercoaster, interesting and well written. I loved it!
I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
This book continues where the first left off. I definitely suggest reading the first book before starting this one.
Drocco and Cailyn’s story continues with Cailyn being kidnapped. It takes a while for them to be reunited again. Once they are reunited you get more in-depth look at their feelings for each other and more development with their connection. Drocco is still a crazy possessed Alpha and Cailyn is still denying their feelings.
I loved this one more than the first and cannot wait to read the last book about Drocco and Cailyn. The truths are starting to come out and I’m hoping they can finally find a balance and have their HEA!
This second installment is full of deceit, betrayal, and emotional growth. Drocco is determined to bind Cailyn to him. Cailyn is just as determined to move on from him. Malloron isn’t the congenial king he appears to be at first. In my opinion the Omega Mothers seem to have a hidden agenda that may not be in the best interests of the other omegas. So many conflicting goals trying to be achieved. I still have so many questions without answers yet. Alas as we all know there will be a final third installment so the path to happiness isn’t smooth sailing. This book ends on a cliffhanger that left me craving for more.
A fantastic read
My second read of this book, in preparation for finally reading book #3 and completing it. And I’m wondering how I ever left this incomplete. I’d forgotten just how amazing this series is, the writing has me gripped from start to finish, I’ve read the two books in less than 24 hours and will be starting the third book as soon as I’ve finished writing this review.
Drocco, Drocco, Drocco. What am I going to do with you? You travel half way around the world to recover your fated mate and then treat her like crap. Oh you foolish, foolish alpha. So many times I wanted to throat punch him. But then we get those scenes in the cottage where he goes all out to win Cailyn’s heart. Oh and his anguish and heartache when he thinks he has failed – that certainly had me tearing up.
It could have been easy to dislike Cailyn, after all she stubbornly held onto her dislike for an alpha that was clearly bending over backwards to show her his feelings. But this woman has been fed misinformation and half-truths since she was an infant. Discovering those lies opens her eyes to a whole new world of possibilities and I can’t wait to find out what happens next!
I am totally in love with this couple, they are such star-crossed lovers. Although Drocco manipulates the Talent to induce a Haze, and technically what results could be judged as dubious in consent, I still enjoyed every single moment. The writing is fantastic and the pace and complexity of the plot held me spellbound. I’m off to read book 3 now.
I know King Malloron is the hero of books 4 – 6. I’m wondering how Ms Ellis will convince me of that because I really, really dislike him at the moment.
