— There is freedom in blacking boots for the right man. — Jake. Kings of Hell MC Prospect. Obedient. Desperate for approval.Vars. Dominant. Stern. Undead. Jake is itching to become a patched member of the Kings of Hell MC. For two years he’s toiled as the only prospect. So when a new guy swans in and thinks he’ll get a patch in no time just because he’s got friends in high places, Jake is … and thinks he’ll get a patch in no time just because he’s got friends in high places, Jake is there to stand in his way.
Only that the guy is older, more experienced, drives a Harley, and has the kind of boots Jake craves to lick.
But he won’t.
Because he only fucks patches.
Vars is ready to find a new home in the Kings of Hell MC after a messy relationship led him straight to hell. In comparison, the pretty, blue-eyed prospect could be just the pleasant rebound he needs.
The boy is a brat, but that could be amended with a firm hand and a gag.
If only Jake was ready to admit to his submissive needs, Vars would gladly take him under his wing.
That is, until he finds out something inhuman resides inside of Jake.
Vars didn’t cheat death only to call out to it again.
But stuck together in one room, keeping each other’s secrets, they might just have to become allies, no matter how unwilling. Because if there is something Vars can’t resist, it’s a boy with pleading eyes.

“You are mine now, boy. This room is soundproof. No one will hear you scream.”
“Yes, sir. My body is yours.”

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Before anything else, I’d like to observe a moment of silence in homage to that cover.
………………..
Now, for the review. HOLY. SHITTLES. What a ride! I absolutely love how these authors manage to create characters with such unique personalities, and they stay true to their character throughout the story and cameos in other books.
This story catches your attention from the beginning, with no boring lulls to wade through. And still, it remained unpredictable, which is always a plus for me as that’s not an easy thing to come by. It seems many authors have gotten into the habit of following a pattern, or outline. K.A. Merikan has done exceptionally well not to follow that trend.
The erotic scenes are pant-worthy. They make me wish I was a man just so I could be gay! Also, though there are BDSM elements of the book, the authors didn’t carelessly and irresponsibly incorporate this lifestyle into the story. The characters speak about the dangers posed not only to submissives, but Doms when involved with someone not willing to acknowledge or respect boundaries. Another high-five for taking time to make sure this is understood by the reader, and doing so in a manner that added depth to the story!
The paranormal aspect built gradually and wasn’t just dropped on your lap. Though, this IS book 3 of a series so I would definitely recommend reading at least book 1 first. But, the gradual build of Jake’s particular issue allowed me to empathize with his character as it happened, to the point that I was crying at the end of the book. There are only 2 books that have triggered cry, out of the thousands of books I’ve binged on. This book just bumped that number up to 3. I cried like a little punk. I salute you for managing to reach into my chest, grab my heart, and twist it into misery!
So, yes, this book definitely earned its 5 stars! Of all the KA Merikan books I’ve indulged in thus far, including the entire Sex & Mayhem series, this one is my absolute favorite.
Keep up the excellent work, ladies! Just when I think you may have peaked, your stories keep getting better and better.
I like MC romance. I enjoy gay books. I enjoy some paranormal: aliens and witches, no shifters for me. And BDSM? Heck yes! All the time. I read the synopsis for this book and thought, “It’s got everything I like! Excellent!” Then I started reading. I liked the two main characters enough, but when things started going paranormal, it was hard for me to continue. I wanted my gay, BDSM, MC romance back! And I just didn’t want to pick it back up. So I quit. I will say that the D/s was outstanding. That’s really what I enjoyed. I wish it wouldn’t have gotten all mixed up in the paranormal. It would have been so much better without it.
I listened to the audible version of the story and it was good. I know from listening to the previous books that one of the rules was to have a lot of sexual activities in the house but there were times that I felt as if there was more sex than anything else going on. However, I enjoy the characters, the storyline and I love the paranormal aspect to the story. I enjoyed Vars and loved how he was willing to show Jake he was worth so much more. Jake’s whining at times was a little over the top but I was glad to see him step up in the end. This paranormal story is steamy, has suspense, romance and more. I’m looking forward to how things will play out no only with the group of guys but also with Mr. Magpie.
Vars and Mars has explosive chemistry together. This book contains enemies to lovers. Daddy dom theme throw in some dark supernatural elements and this book was awesome. I couldn’t put it down great 3rd book in this series. I voluntarily review this book for my honest opinion.
