Rook is the third book in the Devil’s Nightmare MC by Lena Bourne. It is a full-length, standalone book. No Cheating, No Cliffhanger, HEA Guaranteed! Rook I only ever loved one woman. I still love her, even though she left to get us breakfast one morning ten years ago and disappeared. I searched for her for months, but she was just gone. Most days it’s all a distant memory of what could’ve been, … what could’ve been, but I do think of her whenever I wake up next to a strange woman and wish it was her.
Then I see her on the sunny Mexico City street one random afternoon, and it’s like no time has passed at all. I still want to grab her and take her to my room, not let her dress for days. Just like it was back when we fell in love.
But she belongs to the cartel boss now. She’s out of my reach. Technically. I’m a calm man, nothing much gets me going. But Ines, she wakes the fire inside me, makes my blood run hot and has done since the day we met.
Now that I’ve finally found her, nothing and no one will keep me away from her ever again. Not even all of the Mexican cartel.
Rook: Devil’s Nightmare MC is biker romance novel, which contains steamy sex scenes and deals with disturbing themes that may be uncomfortable for some readers. Intended for 18+ audiences.

Rook was the third book in the Devil’s Nightmare MC series by Lena Bourne. It was my first book of the series, but not my first by the author.
Rook and Ines were young and totally in love until one day she walked out of the apartment for breakfast and never returned. Rook was devastated and finally gave up ever finding her again. Fast forward ten years and the story began.
I struggle with this type of scenario when it’s in the present versus the past, so I struggled some with this plot. No spoilers so no elaboration, but it may set off some triggers for some. But as promised, Bourne provided an HEA in the end. To get there, she took us through a quick but suspenseful and action packed plot. It can be read as a stand-alone but I plan to back track and get the history of the MC through the previous books. Then I look forward to continuing onward and I totally can’t wait to for Ice’s story.
Note: As I was posting this review I realized that the Devil’s Nightmare MC was a spinoff from Bourne’s Viper’s Bite MC series, which I loved. I hadn’t had a chance to start the Devil’s Nightmare MC series at the time but I definitely will have to go back to book one now.
Excellent motorcycle club (MC) romance. Ines and Rook love one another but one morning she disappeared. Rook looked for months and eventually joined the MC. He had avoided Mexico City for almost 10 years but there was club business to be done. Suddenly he sees the well dressed woman she now is and because she won’t discuss why she left him while in public when it comes time to hear her out he finds trusting or believing her almost impossible. This story may cause triggers for those physically and psychologically abused. I received a complementary copy of this book but chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by this author.
A love that never dies even in the darkest of times is a very special kind of love. This is not your ordinary love story. It is full of pain and heartache as much as devotion and love. It is complex and at times understandably difficult to to wrap your head around but, it’s worth it. Rook and Ines need to find their happiness and to live free and safe. You won’t be able to rest until you find out what happens to them…and the rest of the MC.
We get to visit Devil’s Nightmare again. I love these stories by Lena Bourne and this one is no different. Although this is a second chance story (which I am not a big fan of) I did enjoy this story. Rook is a wonderful alpha biker that has been searching for his long lost love for the past 10 years. And although he is pretty sure he is never going to see her again, he is damn surprised when he sees her across the street in Mexico City.
Ines fell in love with Rook 10 years ago. She had run away from “The Gentleman” a Mexican cartel boss. He found Ines and takes her from Rook. For 10 years he abuses and holds her prisoner. So when Ines sees Rook, it is like a dream come true. But Ines has been held captive for so long that she is afraid to leave. Sometimes it is better to let people hurt you than the ones you love.
This is a great MC and love story. I really did enjoy it. I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review.
