I have always been a fan of Tim Tebow. I remember watching him play as the quarterback for the Denver Broncos and loving his style, but what I have always admired is watching him live his faith. Seeing him take a knee in prayer (also known as “Tebowing”) is such a beautiful example of seeing his faith lived out.
Tim’s latest book This Is the Day is a call to action! To again find our dreams, our passion, and our purpose.
You can feel from the very first page that this book is different. I instantly grabbed a pen and highlighter because I knew I would find little gems throughout that would speak to me and I was not disappointed. You can feel just how much Tim poured his heart into this book. Granted, the ideas given of reclaiming your dreams and re-igniting your passion are nothing new, but they are presented with personal stories of Tim’s own journey to living his own purpose, which makes them real, and speaks to you on a very personal and authentic level.
I remember everyone being shocked that Tim wanted to go from playing professional football to minor league baseball and he tells about this choice in the book. I mean, who does that? Who chooses to make less money and go into a sport that you haven’t done since high school? Tim Tebow does. After coming to God in prayer, he realized that his passion was no longer in football but in baseball. It wasn’t about the money. “It mattered more what was in my heart than what others wanted me to do.” And so he did. He chose passion. Tim reminds us that our identity is not what we do but who we are in Jesus and it is something we need to always be reminded of.
This is just one small example that Tim gives us. This Is the Day is full of stories from his personal life and from his refreshing perspective. This book is a quick read but it packs a powerful punch. You feel more like you’re conversing with a friend than reading a book which is something I always enjoy.
This Is the Day is a call to action! It is motivational, uplifting, and a wonderful resource! Highly recommend!!

Inspiring. Real life. Real talk. Truth. Tear jerker. Teachable moments. All these things and more you’ll find in Tim Tebow’s new book This is the Day. With this new release, he challenges readers to take hold of each day, each moment, and to live out what they can for God and for others.
In the book, Tebow speaks candidly about his own experiences in sports and growing up an MK (missionary kid), along with stories from others he’s met through his foundation and even just walking through the airport. From challenging the reader to be willing to simply see others as God sees them, to following the prompts of the Spirit to engage with those around us, to share God’s love for those our world would prefer not to see.
All the thumbs up! Even if you don’t like sports, pick this book up. With a pen. Because you will want to hold onto those sticky statements he makes.

Great book. Very inspirational!
I’m not really a big sports fan, but I have followed Tim off and on in his efforts with the Tim Tebow Foundation since its inception in 2010. I have been very impressed with this young man’s integrity, honesty, and boldness while working in an industry that tends to make it hard to hold fast to those values and to stand firm in his beliefs.
After reading Tim’s book, This Is The Day, I am convinced that he is the real deal. You get a real sense that the message of this book is one that Tim lives out daily…to wake up each day expecting to have an encounter that is God-ordained…a moment or an opportunity to be an instrument of blessing in someone’s life. Through personal stories of encounters with God and others, Tim helps us see how we too can wake up each day to powerful purpose and joy. To live out his own proclamation…
“When we give of ourselves, we are built up. On the other hand, when we constantly take from others, we become empty.” I believe Tim looks at each day as an opportunity to win the day. And in God’s economy…that means giving our all for the One who gave His all.
*I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book from the publisher.
I’ve really just started this book but it has pulled Me in. I read part of chapter 5 and that’s what did it for me and I bought the book.
I have been interested in and have followed Tim Tebow’s career since he first became known. I was saddened, as a football fan, when he left football. The vitriol he often calmly and professionally endured saddened me.
Tebow also has a resplendent program for the intellectually disabled, A Night to Shine. I have two family members who work with physically and intellectually disabled adults. Seeing how the men and women reacted to Tebow’s event brought tears to my eyes, but they were happy tears.
When an opportunity became available for me to review This Is The Day by Tim Tebow, I jumped at the chance. I am so glad I did.
Through experiences in sports and personal life, Tebow tells of his belief that “This is the Day.” He says, “Imagine when hearing the sound of the morning alarm, instead of groaning or slapping the snooze button, you awaken-mind, heart, and soul-to possibility…Imagine being fueled by a whisper: ’This is the day.’”
Tebow opens up about many of his life experiences growing up and as an adult. He relates stories of seemingly insignificant events, yet they have great significance, not only in his life but in the lives of those he (and others around him) have touched. He talks to readers as if we are sitting with him enjoying a cup of tea or coffee. Granted, he has the money to do some things we, the average readers, cannot. However, that shouldn’t stop us from doing, being and experiencing all we can within God’s plans for us.
“This is the day to say yes to your dreams.”
I received this book from WaterBrook. However, I was under no obligation to post a review.
THIS IS THE DAY!
God has been preparing Tim Tebow’s heart for this message since his birth. As a young child, his Mom would wake up the clan singing the song based on Psalm 188:24: “This is the day that the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.” His Dad was more boisterous and would rush in shouting, “Here we go! Are you alive, alert, awake and enthusiastic?” Tebow’s parents also made sure he understood the importance of a personal relationship with Jesus and the need to share the Love of God with everyone he encounters.
This is the Day is a great encouragement for all readers no matter who you are, where you are or what you’re going through. Tebow encourages readers to trust God through all things and reminds us of the myriad of ways God has provided solutions when there seemed to be NO way. He also continually challenges readers to step out of our comfort zones, put down our electronic devices and pay attention to those around us. Take time to notice the lonely, hurting, those that are needing a quiet prayer said over and with them.
I have Tebow’s first book, but this one is a billion times better! In This is the Day, Tebow comes across as very realistic, approachable and inspirational. I was provided an ARC of this book by the Publisher. The opinions expressed here are completely my own and without influence. I’ve preordered a copy of this book for my own personal library as well as purchased a copy for a gift.
Imagine when hearing the sound of the morning alarm, instead of groaning or slapping the snooze button, you awaken-mind, heart, and soul- to possibility. Something better. Something more. Imagine waking up each day fueled by a whisper: ‘This is the day.’”
This is the day to say yes to your dreams. In “This Is The Day, sports icon Tim Tebow challenges you to stop putting off until tomorrow what God is calling you to do today. Whether you need to get in shape, change your career, or reach out to someone in need, “This Is The Day” inspires you to not delay but to seek God’s purpose now.
I am not a huge sports fan, but I do remember that Tim Tebow played football during his time in college and that he was known for writing John 3:16 on his face which intrigued me that someone can really be bold with his faith. In this inspiring book, readers will be encouraged to move from “pause” to “play” in finding deeper meaning with everyday life and with Jesus. This is the first book that I have read from Tim Tebow and will be reading his other books.
Although Tim Tebow is passionate about his career with football and baseball, he really wants to be known for his faith in Jesus and how he serve others and God at the same time. He is a role model to many, who loves to encourage others and very humble. He will put others before him especially when a hurricane landed on the east coast, he decided to stay in Florida to help as many people as he could that were going to be in the path of the storm.
Tim encourages the reader to chase after your dream today. Choose today to live a life like Jesus. Don’t put off tomorrow what you can accomplish today. Choose today to tell your loved ones that you love them. Live for today, not tomorrow, next week or next month.
There are examples in each chapter of how the reader can apply Tim’s messages to every day life. Each chapter ends with question challenging you about your walk with Christ. To sum up the book, Tim extends invitation to those who do not yet know Christ to accept the free gift of a hope-filled life. You may feel Jesus knocking at the door of your soul. Don’t fight it. Open the door and accept His gift of eternal life.

WaterBrook Press mailed me a free copy to evaluate. I placed the book aside for a few days because I am not a sports fan but did enjoy Tim Tebow’s last book. Once I began reading it, I was pleasantly surprised. He shared not his successes but his loses, not his big wins as much as his strike outs. Through each chapter he wove the value of living a day with intention. At the end of each chapter is a segment designed to give the reader an opportunity to reflect on the chapter’s theme. I read the book for the first time in order to post a review. I will read the book a second time, one chapter at a time with the intent of living each day with a stronger purpose.
I have read every single Tim Tebow book there is, and judging by how great this one is, I cannot wait for the next!! These books are a must-read! I completely agree with the “stepping out of your comfort zone” part of it. We have become a hiding society, content to stay within our comfort zone instead of seizing each and every day as a gift from God. I also appreciated how he tries to encourage us in the storms of life and to keep pursuing our dreams. I highly recommend this series. I hope you decide to read this series of great and powerful books and are reminded that this is the day to change the world!!
“This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24).
This is one of the first Bible verses that I learned as a child; a simple command for a child but how many of us practice this as adults? Tim Tebow has written a book to remind us to make each day “this day”. “This Is The Day” challenges all of us to step outside of our comfort zones to try to make a difference. He shares personal stories and his own experiences to motivate us and he also includes Bible scripture to encourage our efforts.
I first became aware of Tim Tebow as the football player who chose to kneel and pray before and after his football games but my admiration for him as a person has greatly increased after reading this book. It is apparent that he loves sports but that his love for God is greater; he desires to be the best that he can be as an athlete but his passion is even greater to be a better Christian and serve God every chance he has. He realizes that God gave him exceptional athletic talent and that he can use his celebrity status to help change someone’s life for the better.
In his introduction Tim Tebow tells us to “Imagine waking up each day fueled by a whisper ‘This is the day'” and his final words remind us that “We often promise ourselves that one day we’re going to do this or that. But we’re not guaranteed one day. Who knows if it will even come? Besides, life isn’t just about one day. It’s about this day.”
I believe that this will be an excellent book to share with young people and that its appeal will extend to both sports fans and Christian readers. I enjoyed This Is The Day and I am glad that I was given the opportunity to read an Advanced Reader Copy.
I received a copy of this book from Waterbrook Publishers and voluntarily wrote this review. These are my honest opinios.

Wow!! I had already taken out my highlighter while reading the Introduction. This book is packed full of inspirational stories and examples of putting others first and walking in God’s light. This book would be great for people of ALL AGES that just need a nudge or even a full blown push to act in TODAY. I don’t feel that you would need to be a sports fan to enjoy this book – though it helps because there is great insight to the inner workers of it. This is a quick read but will stick with you long after you have finished. This would be a great book to give as a gift – it is THAT GOOD!
This book was provided to me in advance by the publisher. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I always enjoy Tim Tebow’s books. His writing style is personable and readable. He shares freely from his life’s experiences, and doesn’t hesitate to share both his successes and defeats. There’s probably not another current sports figure whose life comes under more scrutiny, and yet he seems to handle the criticism and the applause by filtering both through his strong faith in God.
In this book, he gives his parents strong credit for instilling his attitude of “This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.”
(Psalm 118:24). Through twelve chapters, Tim Tebow challenges us to rejoice each day even if we face difficulty and pain. My personal favorite chapter was “ Go Back to the Well”. It will be a challenge and encouragement for those days when I need a reminder to rejoice in the Lord.
The true illustrations he uses all of those who have faced true adversity and heartache will touch your heart, and you’ll rejoice with those who find strength and victory. There are inspiring stories all throughout this book. I especially enjoyed his stories of his parents. Reading about their strong faith in difficult circumstances was an encouragement to me.
This book would be a good one for a book club or study. Any age group could benefit from reading and discussing it.

I’m not really into sports, but I have known who Tim Tebow is for several years now, and have always been very impressed by his humility and genuine heart for God. I don’t often read non-fiction and had never read anything by this author, but when I was given the opportunity to join the launch team for this book I felt a nudge from God to sign up! Needless to say, I listened to that nudge and I’m so glad I did because this book was EXACTLY what I needed to read at this point in my life! Speaking as someone who has of late felt “stuck” in life and wondering just what next step God wants me to take in His plan for my life, God used this book to inspire and energize me to reach out right where I am and share His love with people! Tim’s words were a fantastic reminder that even when it might not feel like it I am loved by God, I matter, the things I say and do matter, God has a purpose and a plan for my life, and that He will work through me to impact the lives of the people around me if I will only be open to it! Tim writes in such a conversational way that reading this book felt like chatting with a friend, he did a great job of using stories from his own life to get his point across and inspire without ever becoming preachy. I especially loved all the suggestions for applying the message in each chapter to your life and the examples of ways to live out your purpose in real world, everyday life moments. This is one book that I know I will be rereading many times in the future, it impacted me in a tremendously powerful way, left me feeling excited for whatever God has in store for me, and filled me with a determination and reawakened desire to tell people just how much God loves them! Overall, I absolutely loved every moment of this book, I would share a favorite quote but there are simply too many for me to choose, nary a page passed without at least one quote that I wanted to highlight, and I’m already itching to reread it so I can savor all the fabulous quoteable reminders! I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone and am very much looking forward to reading more of Tim Tebow’s books in the future! Seriously, this book is SO GOOD! I dare you to read This is the Day and tell me it didn’t change you!
I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher, which did not influence my review in any way. All thoughts and opinions are one hundred percent my own.
This is the Day by Tim Tebow is an encouraging and inspirational book. I am not much of a sports fan but I have heard of Tim Tebow before, especially in regards to the Night to Shine program and so was interested in reading his newest book and I was not disappointed. The book is easy to read as the author shares from his heart just like he might share with a friend over lunch. Using personal experiences and those of other individuals, often young people who have been helped through the Tim Tebow Foundation, he encourages readers to dream dreams, make goals, and be intentional about doing things that matter and to have a positive influence in the world around them. To make Today be the day to live a life of purpose, meaning, and significance. I like that at the end of each chapter there is a section tagged ‘Make this your day’ in which readers are asked questions and given suggestions how to make the chapter’s principle applicable to their lives. Several of these principles or topics are Listening to the Right Voice, Live with Open Hands, Put in the Work, and Get in the Game. At the beginning of each chapter is a quote from a variety of notables and one I especially liked is by Francis Chan: ‘Do you know that nothing you do in this life will ever matter, unless it is about loving God and loving the people He has made?’ This is the author’s message to know God, to see others as God sees them, to invest in relationships, and to allow God to work through you to do something significant for others. The book is full of stirring and poignant stories and reminders, reminders that we may not be able to fix every situation for others but we can be part of their journey and that often that journey requires us to step out of our routines. This is the Day is a motivating and heartening book.
I received a complimentary copy of the uncorrected proof of the book and was not required to write a review. The opinions are my own.
