Mia’s star desperately needs polishing. Can a fake relationship with Austin make her shine?Mia Black is the lusterless middle daughter of a family full of shining stars. Literally movie stars. Meanwhile, her biggest achievement is landing the role of Harem Girl #3 in the school play. But a fluke chance to play the starring role gives Mia a taste of the spotlight and draws the attention of Austin … the spotlight and draws the attention of Austin — the super cute, uber-popular, basketball phenom whose athletic career just took a nosedive when his failing grades landed him in academic probation.
Trying to save face when his girlfriend dumps him, Austin impulsively kisses Mia in front of everyone and begs her to pretend they’ve been secretly dating.
Mia knows her reputation could use some help, and Austin is the perfect guy to elevate her from not to hot. All she has to do is help him get his grades up, and Austin will pretend to be madly in love with her.
Fake it till you make it, the saying goes, and Mia and Austin soon realize that opposites do attract. But can their relationship, and their reputations, survive when the whole school finds out they were only faking?

My Fake Valentine by Kellie McAllen a sweet and funny five-star read that I will re-read several times over. This was my first read by this author and I’m so glad I took a chance, a friend recommended the book to me and I will give her all the coffee and cake she wants for this recommendation. Mia ‘Black Sheep’ Black has always been looking for a place to fit in, a geeky girl in a family of stars. But as a character she shone out from the crowd and created her own stratosphere and she takes you the reader along for the ride. I know Austin Meyers may be a self-centred, egotistical, annoying, gorgeous, magnetic, heartthrob, jerkface ever and also a very well written character but he still didn’t shine as much as Mia did in this story. When a deal between them becomes so much more what will the future hold?
This was such a sweet, honest (even though it’s kinda about a lie), compelling read I did that terrible thing of thinking just a couple of chapters before bed, and finished the whole thing. It’s not a super long read and it’s just the perfect length each word flows from the last and you will be smiling like a creeper most of the way through, even though the worst of it, there are reasons to smile.
If you are after a read that is sweet, compelling with a charming edge then this is the one for you, I’m sure I will be re-reading this story again and again and when the next book in the series comes out, I will be reading that I already can’t wait.
End Game Valentine’s
I guess this book could be classified YA for young adult I still enjoyed it since I’m way past that stage. The story of Mia and Austin is sweet, salted, snarky and maybe just meant to be. Just like most high school students have to be careful what you wish for because you might get it in a way that you don’t like.
Miss McAllen did a wonderful job of not making this a truly juvenile piece of writing material.
I really enjoyed this book. It is sweet and there isn’t a ton of drama. As the saying goes opposites attract. These characters are so different but kinda perfect together. I think this could be every girls high school fantasy!
The only thing I didn’t like is the end. I felt it ended too soon. Book 2 is Kellie so I am not sure if we will have too much more from these characters but I want to find out.
This is just suck a light sweet read. I look forward t reading the next book in this series.
I really enjoyed this book. It was a cute, fun read. And I just loved Mia and Austin!!
I read and reviewed and advanced copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own
My Fake Valentine by Kellie McAllen is a timely story about a teenage girl who longs to be popular. She is self conscious about her appearance and lacks confidence in herself. A series of positive circumstances thrust her into the spotlight.
This is a story about teenage life in high school and the longing to be accepted. There are parts of the story that will make you cheer and other parts that will make you feel uncomfortable – just like teenagers.
I enjoyed reading this book. It is perfect for a February read.

A star-studded read that will make you fall in love with it. I absolutely fell in love with teen contemporary romances all over again. It has been such a long time since I read in this genre. Now, I have a book hangover! To the author, thank you for this joy of a book.
A certain action can cause a lot of trouble and problems but I am so happy with the way it ended.
Such a fun, flirty and light-hearted read. Just what I needed.
Full of hollywood stars, fame, fortune, feelings, popularity, reputation, mistakes and romance.
Perfect for readers of contemporary romances.
