New to the Iniquus world of high-stakes national security, I ventured into Intigator, the third book of the Strike Force Series, because of being intrigued by the word Iniquus (Latin for unjust) which promised dramatic fight for survival and for righting the wrongs. Swept to exotic locales—Tanzania, the Iraqi-Syrian border, Iiquus Barracks in Washington DC, Singapore, to name just a few—I followed the characters into political intrigue, gritty action, and dramatic espionage.
Retired Marine Raider, Gator Aid Rochambeau is an Iniquus elite security operative who suffers from bouts of psychic confusion. Fellow Strike Force member, Lynx, helps him decipher what his premonitions mean, especially when it comes to special ops pilot Christen Davidson. Christen is desperate to fly a rescue mission to save Fellow operatives. Instead, she is ordered to act as an asset in an international game. To her discomfort, she can’t disobey. “The only bright spot in this whole crappity mission was that she’d met Gator.”
When Gator is tasked with protecting her, they find themselves in a dark world where it is next to impossible to figure out who is friend and who—an enemy. To protect Christen’s life, he must walk away forever after his assignment is completed. Will he ever be able to unite with the woman of his dreams?
Five stars.
I am not a fan of cliffhangers- and this is without one! Love it : this is not the end.
The whole of this book adds a bit of a change of course for the team members. Gator has always been married to the team, and broke up with his former long term girlfriend when she made very long term demands. Then again, that gal was also bat dung nuts crazy!
He struggles in this tale with a deep bond, but this is no mouseworld fairy tale. He expects pain and death at the least.
Christen, code named D-Day, is an Army warrior. A Night Stalker- the ride of choice for special operators for night drops or pickups. She plays a socialite to give CIA access to a meeting of undesirables on properties belonging to her father- under orders.
Many different games are afoot- with more than one set of bad actors.
Many tests of will.
I am very hooked on these series- and happy these books are on KU right now. I have read most of the books in the Iniquus series on Kindle and Kindle Unlimited.
An exciting mix of psychological thriller, action adventure, and paranormal bits.
this is a very good story if you like suspense and romance you will like the book
Christen is a Night Stalker flying her little bird with precision at death defying low heights on missions. Her new mission is with the CIA and involves her spying on her father and a group of men he is entertaining in Singapore, on excursions and on his private island. Gator and Blaze are hired on as part of her protection detail when they thwart a kidnapping attempt on her father. Gator and Christen have an instant connection and he is getting his weird feelings especially of doom involving Christen. Lynx is having these same feelings. This book has a hiking in a jungle, a holy man who sent Gator on a weird trip, a yacht ride, a typhoon, attempted murder, CIA, FBI and LOVE.
