sweet romance.
Just what you need after a long day
It is a quick read set in Marietta and featuring a new shop and some new characters. It is light, sweet, fun and a nice time out from life.
A Mistletoe Kiss by Jennifer Faye is a contemporary holiday romance for all ages. Ms. Faye has gifted readers with a well-written book and furnished it with lovable characters. Suzanna has been dumped at the alter and then left without a goodbye from the next boyfriend. Jake is Suzanna’s new neighbor and has never had a normal Christmas. Suzanna and Jake’s story is packed with drama, humor and kisses. I enjoyed reading this book. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
Read this in a day. Likeable characters- I want to know more about them!
This was such a fun story. Suzanna Simms has given up on love. But, when she finds out her family is coming to town for Christmas, she is in a panic as to what to so. She doesn’t want her family pitying her after another breakup. Everyone in Marietta remembers when Suzanna was dumped on her wedding day.
Sergeant Jake Hamilton is in Marietta to help out on of his friends after he is discharged from the army because of an injury. He is staying in the rental next to Suzanna and they become friends pretty quick. So, when Suzanna’s parents show up early for Christmas and assume he is her new boyfriend, Jake plays along. Things soon get out of control and they find themselves with feelings neither of them expected. But, Suzanna worries as Jake mentioned after Christmas, he would be leaving town. Should she really get involved with someone who is going to be moving on so soon?
I really enjoyed this book. There is so much more to the story than just romance. There is family fun, learning to trust in love again and Suzanna’s fear of dogs. Jake has a Saint Bernard named Rufus and Suzanna is terrified of him at first, but eventually learns to trust him. I could relate to this part because I also have a fear of dogs after being bit on the face when I was a little kid. And ironically, it was a Saint Bernard. I think Rufus and Suzanna’s cat Pixie made for fun reading with their silly antics. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good clean romantic comedy.
Marietta, Montana is a wonderful place to spend New Years Eve. Even if it is only a fictional town and through a book. Getting lost in this book, when it is cold outside (which is fun since it matches the snowy cold weather in Marietta) made for a delightful time as I escaped once again to one of my favorite fictional places in the states. Ms Faye once again captured my attention with her attention to details and as the characters came to life on the pages of my kindle.
I have to say it it was so funny how it brought back memories of my small college town to me with many of the issues in the book. Suzanna bless her heart, was left at the altar by ~no neck then dumped by her boyfriend. “Doomed to be an old maid at 30.” Sounds very familiar to me. Then we have the hunka hunka burning love who moves in next door Jake Hamilton. Retired from the Army and working with an old high school friend of her’s… Now again small town, single women you can just imagine what happens to this poor good looking man as he walks thru the Piggly Wiggly. ( oh they do not call it that there). YEP Oh and yes they do have their own version of phone tree. You know what that is right. ALL towns and meddling places have it. One person tells you something and it goes to the next and so on and so forth… You know like the game we played when we were kids. “telephone”.
This book is really good. It had me laughing at times and other times I was going yep, yes did this author look at my diary or something. Once again another fun read from Marietta and yes you can read this any time of the year!
A soldier, a dog and a cynic set out to steal your heart and tickle your funny bone. What it lacks in originality, A Mistletoe Kiss makes up for in heart. The humor is all encompassing and the romance leaves a nostalgic feeling in the soul.
Relationships are complicated, right? And Suzanna Simms, the heroine of A Mistletoe Kiss by Jennifer Faye, is avoiding ‘em like the plague this holiday season! Let’s say she’s been burned…twice…and decides to take this Christmas “off” and just hide out. We know THAT isn’t going to work! Enter her new “short-term” neighbor, Jake Hamilton. As in I-don’t-know-how-long-I’m-in-town-for Jake Hamilton.
What a great story about two people who are just a leeeeetle bit broken in the heart department. The best part is that both Suzanna and Jake are strong, capable individuals who end up relying on one another to help them work thru their own personal issues, deal with the holidays, and find love with one another in the process. Add a kitten, a huge dog, mistletoe and mayhem? You have a recipe for a warm, loving, funny, sometimes snarky, holiday story that will make your day. I read it in one night so it was quick for me but it is a full length story. I recommend!
A Mistletoe Kiss is the second book in the Tangled Charms series. When Suzanna’s family returns to Marietta, she realizes she is going to have to admit that she once again failed at finding love. But they meet Jake, her new and temporary next door neighbor, and mistakenly assume he is her boyfriend. Jake figures he can go along with it, and when they are caught under the mistletoe, the sparks fly. Will Suzanna and Jake’s secret be discovered? Will they find true love? I really liked this story. It has that good-feel that you want in a great romance. I definitely recommend it.
I enjoyed ready this amazing love story, A Mistletoe Kiss by Jennifer Faye, book two in her Tangled Charms series. I remember being at the point where I gave up on finding on Mr. Right because of running into too many Mr. Wrongs. It was shortly after that when I met the guy who became my husband. This is what happens to Suzanna Simms, co-owner of Tangled Charms when she runs into her new next door neighbor Sergeant Jake Hamilton. Suzanna was doing fine until she learned all of her family was returning to Marietta to celebrate Christmas. Suzanna’s family mistakenly assumes that Jake’s her new boyfriend, which he agrees to pretend to do. Jake never thought he would fall in love, but when he finds Suzanna’s kisses are sweeter than the cookies she bakes for him, he knows he’s in trouble. This Christmas charade gives these two a chance to discover more about themselves and the love they both desire.
I really enjoyed this sweet love story and had trouble putting this book down, reading this book in one day. Jennifer wrote a wonderful story that drew me in, making me forget the world around me and not let me go until I turned the last page. I highly recommend this book to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
