It may be cold outside, but the snow begins to melt when an unlikely couple comes together during the Holidays… and disgraced. There’s only one place to go, and that’s back to the fiancé she ditched. But instead of her ex, she finds his friend Daveed Rafik. The handsome military translator disarms Mel with his easy smile and surprising sympathy. But as she struggles to get her life on track, the last thing Mel needs is to fall into the strong arms of her ex-fiancé’s best friend.
Counter-terrorism expert Sheikh Daveed Rafik has spent his career dealing with delicate and dangerous situations, but none of them compares to Melody Hascall-Ebons. He’s supposed to be helping his friend Murphy find his missing sister, not consoling the spoiled rich girl who dumped their buddy Heath. But the more he learns about Melody, the more he likes. With her unexpected intelligence and distinctive beauty, Melody calls to him in powerful ways. But when the woman he is arranged to marry shows up, Daveed’s highly organized life suddenly gets very complicated.
The streets of New York are steeped in holiday cheer, but can Daveed and Melody thaw the ice around their hearts enough to make room for love?

terrific story. I didn’t appreciate Mel’s attitude for the first part of the story. She seemed for spoiled rich girl thinking only of herself. As the story went on, I was pleased to see her changing some of her attitudes. Not all but moving in the right direction. Looking forward to seeing more the this couple in the next series story.
D. C. Cole did a wonderful job narrating with the exception of mis pronouncing some of foriegn words. I highly suggest doing the neccessary research to get th hem correct.
I recieved a free Audible copy of this story, at my request, in exchange for a honest review .
Melody has no where to turn, no where to go. She has run out on her fiance’, ran off with an actor who was using her for publicity. Could she do anything more stupid?
Melody comes from money. She was basically raised knowing that her main goal in life was to be “a good socialite wife” and for some reason, her marriage would have been one of convenience. She decides to go stay at her ex’s city condo until she can figure out what to do.
Daveed, her ex’s friend and business partner is staying at the condo temporarily. Their other partner’s sister has gone missing and they are looking for her. When Mel shows up at the door, he is definitely annoyed.
Daveed lets her stay and soon finds out there is more to Mel. She is not brainless and she is determined to make it on her own. And can they deny the attraction?
I really liked this story! Mel has amends to make and it isn’t easy for her. She is a hell of a woman though and determined. I felt sad that she was never encouraged to become what she was capable of. I had so much anger towards her parents and even the ex who also expected her to be “arm candy”.
Daveed did get to know her though, which made the attraction grow even more….
I would recommend this story!
While I rated this one 4 stars, it’s not as good as Leslie North’s other books. This one is less intense and there are several storylines going on at the same time. The plot is interesting and can’t wait to find out how the missing sister plot plays out. I loved the characters even though Daveed isn’t your standard Sheikh. It’s just a sweet love story that gave me a break from some of the other deep, dark romances that I read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a free copy of this book….
Christmas in Summer! This is the first book in the All I want for Christmas is… Series. I like this Christmas Story… in July! It’s refreshing! This story is different than the other written by Leslie North and I loved it! I love the main characters, Daveed and Melody, but also the secondary characters, Heath and Murphy. Melody is a strong, resourceful, feisty and hilarious woman. Daveed is a very organized, supportive and protective man. The story is also filled with a little suspense with the disappearance of Aileen, Murphy’s sister. Now, I can’t wait for the next book in the Series! The narration is really great. I love DC Cole’s voice. He has a beautiful voice, easy to listen. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.
