OH MY GOD! This book was so good I think I could die. This book was so funny and inspirational. It was so romantic but in the end I still can’t believe what happened. I am so glad there was a second book.
Wish I had known this was the first of two in the series and the conclusion to this story was in book two.
I loved this duet ! If only we could all find our own Rhett! This guy loves Ava through the years and never gives up on her. Sigh. We should all be so lucky. I absolutely loved these two books and highly recommend them to anyone who loves a great love story. Happy reading!
Enjoyable read, but does leave you hanging.
Unusual and riveting story about twins with an unexpected ending. I couldn’t pay it down.
Love this series. Bought second in series and stayed up reading. Great story
What would anyone give to get what you want? What about, oh, say what sort of person would you be if you had that power? Meet a couple with issues, love, friends who love and hate for you and a million and one things. Good reading.
A wonderful tale as far as it goes, but the story is only half told. Need to buy the next in the series to learn what happens. Mean to readers.
I really liked the main characters of this story as well as the secondary ones because they make a real-life tapestry of two lives – families, friends, enemies… I am a fan of Ava because she is independent and stubborn, and still, she manages to deal with everything life gives her. She is smart too but that doesn’t quite help her with her attraction towards Rhett.
I liked him although he was too ideal at times with all his generosity and showing his desire towards her. Their interactions were great even when they weren’t all positive.
The style got me reading and reading and the story was very difficult to put down.

This was my first time reading this author and on the whole I enjoyed this first book of the series. While I like a good age gap story, I prefer if both characters have a bit of life experience; the chemistry between Rhett and Ava is blatantly obvious, but of course there’s gonna be something that’s gotta throw a roadblock or 19 between them, and I can’t wait to see how things will play out.
A Reason To Stay by Melissa Ellen is the first book in the Blackwood Series featuring Ava, a college student who is disillusioned with love and has experienced loss, and Rhett, a billionaire player with a vindictive and manipulative ex. Ava and Rhett develop a relationship with many ups and downs. I recommend this novel which is a well written read with wonderful Characters, heartfelt emotions, and a plot with secrets, unexpected twists, and a romance filled with the complexity of life. Beware, the book ends in a cliffhanger which will be continued in the next book entitled The Only One.

Melissa Ellen did a great job on A Reason To Stay, the plot and characters were strong. The story was written well. There was many emotions in this story. The characters’ journey wasn’t an easy one.
I enjoyed this story, looking forward to reading more. Thank you, Melissa Ellen. Great work 🙂
Reason to Stay by Melissa Ellen. Everyone wants to know there is a reason to stay, you just need to give them one. The story line was okay, the character work was good, and the book had a fairly smooth flow to it. While the character work was well done, I didn’t care for them. On the whole, I was entertained.

This book does end in a cliffhanger so be prepared to buy book 2 as there is no resolution at the end of this book. The characters both have secrets that get in the way of their happiness. It’s a steady paced read with a lot of emotion in it.

Beautifully laid out and described story with lots of romance of sweeter kind. The story can be little slow at times as it doesn’t take any shortcuts in storytelling. Compelling make character, little less compelling but still interesting female character. Will definitely read the next to see how it ends.
