Just call me a rulebreaker…I’m her TA. I hold her grade in my hands. I know better than to date her. I also know better than to make her my roommate. Especially since she hates me.But she has nowhere else to go. I can keep my hands to myself…can’t I?With the demons in my past, all I want is a fresh start. I’m not looking for trouble, but trouble tastes so damn good.
Incredibly written, intense, and sexy. Zephyr and Malia were so amazing together. A riveting read that kept me glued to my chair until the very last page.
How do you mend a broken heart? If you are a Donovan, you get under it not over it. For Zephyr and Malia the road is long and the heartache is fierce, but their love proves unstoppable in the end. Lovestruck is not a swan song, but a power ballad that lingers in the air after the last note has been played. Enter at your own risk, because you’ll regret it if you don’t.
Love Nana Malone!
Another Donovan story and it’s a great one. Zephyr Donovan hears a sultry laugh and it mesmerizes him. When it turns out to belong to Malia, a gorgeous student, he wants to get to know her. But Malia is guarded and busy, so busy with so many different jobs that she doesn’t have time for a relationship. When she turns out to be one of the students he picked to work at the company he himself had been handpicked to work for, a company with a strict no fraternization policy, what will the two do? Ignore their obvious attraction and keep their jobs? Or give in and potentially destroy their futures?
I’ve loved every Donovan story I’ve read and Lovestruck is no exception. Zephyr is such a great character. So sweet and obviously adores Malia. Considering what an amazing family he has, it’s no wonder he turned out to be such a great guy, even when he finds out some less than positive secrets from his past, he takes it all and keeps going. Then there’s Malia. While I didn’t fall in love with her, I did respect her, a lot. She is really strong, and adores her sister, devotes herself to caring for her, perfect for the family oriented Zephyr. Together, the two make for a great couple whose chemistry sizzles.
Zephyr needs a break from New York and the nightmare he got through last year. So when given the chance to work in the Tanashi Fellowship Program he accept without doubt. Malia is struggling to keep her grades while working nonsense to send money for her aunt to take of her little sister. She has nowhere to live after his roommates kicked her out and she is sleeping where never and wherever she can. When Zephyr and Malka met in a faculty event that Malka is working on, the chemistry is very strong. But when they find out that Zephyr is her tutor in the Tanashi program they can’t get involved. But the attraction is too strong to fight it, what are they going to do? Demons from Zephyr’s past will haunt them in order to keep them apart. A good story about love and family.
Zephyr is 23 years old, incredibly hot male with a penchant for picking up strays and being a nice guy. Unfortunately, he has a past that haunts him nightly and he’s trying to start fresh (or as fresh as he can). Circumstances have him casually meeting Malia and something draws him to her. She readily admits that her life is complicated and tries to stay clear but that doesn’t last long at all. Malia, doesn’t have an easy past or life. Her parents have died and her and her sister are being raised by an Aunt. This aunt wants money though to watch Eva (Malia’s sister) so Eva works many jobs in order to send money home. She’s working these jobs while going to school and living in cars, benches and wherever she can lay her head.
While Zephyr can’t get Malia out of his mind, he finds out pretty quickly that he is her mentor at school and things have become awkward. Malia’s trying to win an internship/scholarship at Tanashi Corp (Zephyr has a fellowship with this company) and Zephyr and his group of students are what will help her get it this internship. As if their past and yet current environments weren’t challenging enough, life continues to throw stuff at them. Will their obvious attraction be enough or will their pasts prevent them from finding their happily ever after?
What a great read! I can’t wait to read more about the Donovans.
Malia is a down on her luck student who has a complicated life. Trying to make a future for herself while holding down a number of jobs, Malia doesn’t have it easy. I loved Malia. She’s hard working, loyal and determined and she really is doing her best in a bad situation. When her life goes from bad to worse, she has no choice but to accept Zephyrs offer of help.
Zephyr is trying to move past the tragic things that have happened in his life. When he gets a job offer from The Tanashi Corp he sees an opportunity to start over and move on. He’s not expecting student Malia to catch his eye nor is he expecting the lengths some people will go to to get what they want.
These two characters both have their secrets and see something in the other that intrigues them. As they grow closer, it soon becomes apparent that their relationship is going to rock some boats. Throw in a couple of twist and the characters are left reeling with some hard decisions to make.
This was a really enjoyable romance with a few twists thrown in and two really easy to like characters.
This book starts with Malia, being practically tossed out on the streets by her roomate, between all her jobs and staying with friends she’s having great difficulty keeping up at school. At a faculty she meets Zephyr Donovan.
Zephyr has moved to Pittsburgh to escape his past, but also to take up a fellowship with the Tanashi Corp. When he meets Malia, he instantly feels a connection to her, but on learning that he’s also to be her mentor, he knows that these feelings he has for her can’t go any further !!
I really loved both Zephyr and Malia, i found myself just rooting for them right from the start. Zephyr just melted my heart, even with his past he couldn’t hide his beautiful caring side, yet he was no ones walk over either, just the perfect combination of traits. Malia even with all her struggles, was kick ass and determined and i loved that about her. Even though at times a little predictable, (it is romance after all !!) i thoroughly enjoyed every step of their journey and i loved the little twist at the end, i was like “WHAT??” Well written , steamy, and endearing. Definitely a romance to warm your heart, engage your emotions and provide you with a hot sexy new Book Boyfriend !! Move over Malia !!!!
Lovestruck by Nana Malone is a standalone set in the world of the Donovans. I haven’t read the books in the series before reading this. Although I had no trouble following Zephyr and Malia’s story, i kinda felt lost with the family backstory.
Zephyr and Malia were great characters, and I definitely enjoyed their stories, although I felt the book at times was overwritten. Too many details that we didn’t need as part of the story. At times it was hard to concentrate on the storyline.
I’m a HUGE fan of Nana’s writing style, and stories. But I kinda felt a little let down by Lovestruck. The storyline was good, and I ADORE the characters. Both Zephyr and Malia come with a lot of baggage. Both very private about it.
Lovestruck has tons of intrigue, with some interesting plot twists. I look forward to reading more about the Donovan’s in the future.
Zephyr Donovan moves to Pittsburgh for a fresh start with the Tanashi Fellowship Program. Zephyr is at a faculty event when he sees the gorgeous Malia and can’t look away. University student Malia Adams is homeless and too busy surviving to date. Malia’s life is complicated so she turns down the cute and fun Zephyr, even though she likes him. Zephyr is shocked when he finds out Malia is one of the students he’s going to mentor. Malia wants the Tanashi internship, which comes complete with housing and a stipend. Tanashi Corporation has a very strict no-fraternization policy so Zephyr and Malia try to stay away from each other, but when Zephyr rescues Malia from an attack and finds out she’s homeless, he insists that she’s coming home with him. Living in close proximity to each other means Zephyr and Malia can’t stay away from each other and end up dating in secret and falling in love with each other. But when Hokuto Tanashi reveals a secret to Malia, then threatens to destroy Zephyr unless she breaks up with him, Malia feels like she has no choice but to walk away. Is this the end for Zephyr and Malia?
Nana Malone delivers an emotional, drama-filled and steamy story full of twists and turns and lovable characters. Make sure you set aside enough time to read this book as you won’t be able to put it down once you start.
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book
An awesome book. Very entertaining, captivating, and interesting read. I could not put it down. Wonderfully written with strong characters. I want to read more from this author. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
~4.5 Stars~
I’m completely new to the Donovan clan, so I wasn’t sure what to expect after reading the synopsis, except that it sounded like it would be a great book, and it was! I loved every minute of it!
Zephyr Donovan has had a really bad year. He witnessed something that no one should ever have to see. Because of it, he has nightmares, and he carries a huge amount of guilt. When he gets a once in a lifetime chance, he grabs onto it, never realizing how it will completely change his life.
Malia has also fallen on hard times, but she refuses to give up. She has her little sister to take care of. She works several jobs, and now, she finds herself pretty much on the street. She has come too far to just give in, so she forges ahead. She has been selected to be a part of a project, and if she wins, she will have a dream job with the firm that is in charge of the project. She is determined nothing will stop her….that is…until Zephyr enters into the picture.
Zephyr and Malia meet one night at a faculty function. There attraction to one another is instant and powerful. As much as Malia wants to give in and be a normal college student, she can’t. They meet again and share a powerful kiss, but imagine their shock when she finds out he is her mentor. They are, of course, shocked and agree a relationship is off-limits, but the heart wants what it wants.
Both Zephyr and Malia are unbelievably strong characters. He is a survivor, and everyday can be a struggle for him. Malia is incredible, the lengths she goes to protect her sister just made me love her even more.
Despite their powerful attraction to one another, Malone developed their romance slowly which made it all the more realistic. As much as this was a romance, it was also a journey of self-discovery of who Zephyr and Malia were. They really completed one another.
Malone added some twists that I didn’t see coming, and they made the book even better. I loved the Donovan clan. They are the perfect example of what a family should be. I can’t wait to get to know more about the other characters in the earlier books. The epilogue was a work of genius, setting readers up for the next book in the series!
I missed the Donovan crew!! Zephyr Donovan is the bad boy of the crew with a protective side that seems to get him in trouble. Let me be clear when I say bad, I mean dirty!! That boy can definitely do some dirty things. He meets Malia at his new school after running away from Columbia and family drama in Hope. Malia sparks his interest at first giggle but Malia’s complicated life keeps her at a distance.
This book is very suspenseful with a lot of secrets that keep readers on pins and needles waiting for them to be reveled. This book is also very sexy and dirty. Zephyr can definitely get down in the bed, on the wall, in the closet and in an office.
