3.75 stars– HERE COMES THE SUN is the third instalment in Marie Force’s contemporary, adult BUTLER, VERMONT romance series -a spin-off from the author’s GREEN MOUNTAIN SERIES but you do not need to have read the original series to understand or follow the new release. This is Wade Abbott and Mia Simpson’s story line. HERE COMES THE SUN can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Wade Abbott is the sun of Lincoln and Molly Abbott-the parents of the large Abbott clan.
Told from several third person perspectives including Mia and Wade HERE COMES THE SUN focuses on the growing relationship between Mia Simpson and Wade Abbott. Two years earlier Wade Abbott met and fell in love with Mia Simpson but Mia was in a committed relationship and Wade walked away never able to forget about the woman that called to his heart. Fast forward to present day wherein a battered and abused Mia is found nearly frozen at his front door-looking for help from the man she met years before. What ensues is the quick building, rekindling relationship between Mia and Wade, and the potential fall as Mia’s past continues to haunt her daily life.
Mia Simpson is on the run, hoping to stay one step ahead of her past. Remembering the man she has never forgotten, Mia heads to Butler Vermont where she will come face to face with her a future- a future that includes Wade and the entire Abbott clan. Wade Abbott knows that Mia is the woman that calls to his heart but too many unanswered questions continue to run interference as they struggle to meet the demands of the growing love. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
Once again, there is a very large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including most if not all of the previous couples from the Green Mountain Series including Lincoln and Molly Abbot, and Wade’s grandfather Elmer. The back and forth banter between the siblings is sassy and fun.
HERE COMES THE SUN is a revealing story line with a twist that I didn’t see coming. The premise is entertaining and intriguing; the romance is passionate and compelling; the characters are plenty, colorful and dynamic. My only complaint is the quick resolution to the story line conflict-a conflict that followed Mia throughout the entire story.
Such a family! These Abbotts are rowdy, intense and dedicated to each other. Imagine ten siblings, some married and some single? Amazing parents and a grandfather who adores all of them. I loved this book. I laughed so hard, I felt tears; tension was in my chest when things went bad; and, enjoyed every page of this story. Thanks for a great book!
An Unconventional Romance
Well-written, engaging story that has the quiet, keeps-to-himself brother shocking his loud, vocal family. While his family certainly voices their concerns about his new relationship, they live up to their family motto of sticking together and supporting one another. This is a romance truly about soulmates, learning about one another, and building trust. Fans of the series will enjoy Wade’s romance.
Have you ever read a book and thought “I wish I was part of that family” well that’s exactly how I feel about the Abbott’s, I love them all and I love their home town of Butler Vermont. I was so excited when I heard we were going to get Wade’s story, it’s the book I have been waiting for, I wanted to see what made this man tick, I wanted to get to know him and Marie Force did not disappoint me I loved his story.
Wade and Mia have a past, they have history that goes back to when they first met at a yoga retreat 2 years ago but the timing wasn’t right then will it be right now or will the baggage that Mia has from the past ruin the future for this couple, she stole a peice of his heart back then so when she comes to him asking for help he was never going to say no but will his family be as understanding as he is…
This isn’t just a love story it’s a journey and like all journeys there are twists and turns along the way, this book took over it captivated me and I wasn’t going to put it down til I had read the last line, I laughed and I cried with this couple and once again Marie Force gave me another book I wanted to give more than 5 Stars to. Every book I read in this series tops the one before and I wonder how this author does it, I think it’s her way with words, how she describes the people and the town all of which makes you feel like you are going home to visit your family and friends. Brilliant read.
5 Star Review of Here Comes The Sun (Butler, Vermont #3) by Marie Force
Reading a Butler Vermont book to me is like going home to visit my family. I love the Abbott and Coleman families and thoroughly enjoyed Here Comes The Sun.
I have been intrigued by Wade Abbott from the first time he was mentioned and my interest has only been peaked as each book in the series was written. So to say I have been waiting for Wade’s book is an understatement.
Marie Force did not disappoint in any way. It is an extremely well written sweet, sexy and romantic book. Marie Force’s characters are often slightly flawed, yet so realistic and relatable that you cannot help but be drawn in. Here Comes The Sun shows us that you when you know it is right, it is right and that no matter what you should follow your heart, even when at times your head is advising caution.
Wade Abbott was enthralled with Mia Simpson from the first time he met her at a yoga retreat 2 years ago and although he has not seen or heard from her in over a year, he has never forgotten the beautiful women who captured his heart.
When Wade finds a nearly frozen Mia unexpectedly on his doorstep he has no intention of turning her away. Obviously she too has felt the pull of attraction, otherwise why would she have shown up in Butler? What follows is a surprising and at times heart wrenching story of determination, courage, strength and above all love and acceptance.
As always we caught up on other members of the family which was great and I read this book in almost one sitting, I was so entranced and riveted to the story. Marie Force. I’ve said it before and I will continue to say it, I would love to be adopted by this family.
This is one of my most favourite series and one I highly recommend. I cannot wait for the next book in the series which promises to be amazing based on the ending in Here Comes The Sun.
Wade’s finally gotten his shot at love and happiness.
I’m utterly crazy about this series and I fall deeper and deeper in love with every book.
Wade was so adorable, so sweet, devoted and protective. He was supportive, even when doubts would assail him (and he was entitled to them). I loved how intense he was, despite being a private person.
Just like him, Mia was incredible. She was sweet, strong, resilient. She may appear fragile, but she was anything but.
They were so cozy together and it melted my heart every time they leaned on each other. After everything they’ve been through, specially Mia, they deserved the love they finally found in each other’s arms.
And I must sing the praises of nice guys. Everyone seems to be crazy about bad boys, but they don’t know the wonders a good guy can accomplish.
Finally, I need to say again how much I love this crazy, loud family and this adorable small town. I wish they were all real.
That being said, I can’t wait to read more about Lucas.
Wade and Mia met at a yoga conference and had an instant attraction, but Mia was involved with a dangerous man at the time. Two years later, she turns up on his front doorstep, bruised, battered, and nearly frozen and looking for his help. The attraction between them is still there, but can they last through all the secrets?
I always have a great few hours devouring a book about the Abbott family. Wade and Mia’s story kept me on my toes. I kept wondering how it was going to play out. There was a bit of mystery inside. Of course, we get to catch up with the other Abbotts as they have some points of view scenes. And, how could you forget Fred the Moose. He had to make some appearances as well. Dual point of view. No cliffhanger.
Have I told you how much I love Marie Force?!?! I know I have mentioned it a time or two. Okay, maybe just about every review that I do!!!
I am a total sucker for family romance series. We get to fall in love with the Abbott family in Marie’s Green Mountain & Butler, Vermont series. In Here Comes the Sun, we get Wade Abbot’s (Wade Michael Abbott… ) love story.
“It’s not a dream. I’m really here, and I’ve been dying for your kiss for as long as I’ve known you.” ~ Marie Force, Here Comes the Sun (Butler, Vermont #3)
I have sat on this review for a few months because I don’t really know what to say. This one was not my most favorite of the Abbott’s. I know, I know… I feel like I am committing a sin by saying that. I want to put on a cone of shame for even thinking this!! Yes, we get Marie’s amazing writing. But with this one, I just didn’t fall in love with the storyline.
Wade & Mia Simpson meet on a weekend retreat. There was an instant connection. Never did he think that he would see her again. Until one day she shows up at his house to escape an abusive relationship. Of course, Wade just has to marry her… Within the first few chapters… This is the part that just didn’t connect with me.
Again, loved the characters. Just didn’t love this specific storyline.
But hey, there was a bright spot!! FRED THE MOOSE!!! Fred (or is he really a Fred?!?!) steals the show each and every time! Fred holds my heart. In fact, I went to Yellowstone a few summers ago waiting and longing to see my own Fred. Alas, I did not have any luck seeing my own Fred. So, I get excited to seeing Fred in Marie’s book.
I love the Abbotts! I always will. I cannot wait for their next story. And Lincoln & Elmer crack me up! They are the ultimate match makers.
At the end of the day, if you are a Marie Force lover, you will enjoy this book. Don’t take my opinion on this one.

Love both the Green Mtn and Butler series. This latest one really captured my attention the entire book.
A great read. Love the whole family storyline
I loved this book. the characters are so real. I love Mia. Her character was so real and the hardships she went through were so emotional. I highly recommend the entire series. Every book is different and has it’s own story. The characters are so well written. Love it.
Green Mountain Series always great!
Here Comes The Sun is the third title in the Butler, Vermont series, a friends to lovers romance that features Wade Abbott and Mia Simpson. Circumstances kept this pair apart until Wade becomes Mia’s salvation, and she finds security in his arms.
Wade is an endearing character, kind, sweet, thoughtful and considerate. Despite his introverted and staid personality, Wade’s a guy you can depend on, he’s protective and supportive and follows through on his promises and commitments.
“You’re kind and thoughtful and funny, and you let me bomb into your house with my drama and my stuff and you never blinked an eye. You were sweet to me from the first time we ever talked, and my first impression of you has never changed. And—” Wade kissed her because he couldn’t wait another minute to taste her lips.
Mia is just as like-able, sweet, funny and easy going, and on top of that she’s a battler. She hasn’t had an easy life but continues to fight and thrive.
Mia and Wade share many ideals, and their lifestyle choice and interests are very similar. The chemistry and connection they share is intense yet believable.
The only thing that mattered to him now was that she was here, in his bed and in his arms and in his life to stay, if he had anything to say about it.
If you enjoy a small town romance, with strong themes of family and multiple points of view this is the series for you.
Although this title is the third in the series, it could be read as a standalone, but those familiar with the series, will enjoy the cameo appearances of various Abbott/Coleman family members and residents of Butler, Vermont.
I will be eagerly awaiting more of this well written, enjoyable and entertaining series.
Marie Force has a gift for taking the complications of real life and creating stories of inspirational optimism. Here Comes the Sun is a story that blends moments of courage with high octane emotion and the sweetest, yet almost tragic romance. For Mia and Wade love brings surprising twists. Finding a soul mate can either complete your heart or break it in two. Is it worth the risk? A stunningly addictive journey.
