I loved this fantastic book about a female scientist who was far ahead of her time and the man who makes it his mission to keep her safe. History, mystery and sexy times galore! You definitely NEED to read this book. 🙂
The story is infused with sensual pleasures that explode into strong reactions of the heart. The main characters mix it up to a simmering love affair to last a life time. The author takes the reader down a chemistry road that is most enlightening. The story has suspense and evil plots that hold the attention. Wonderful lovable characters, superbly plotted and great atmosphere. Just a very entertaining read.
This wonderfully written storyline and the well detailed characters, Edison and Ada, made this book a very enjoyable and entertaining read!
Edison works with his family to help people who need it. When someone who tries to elicit their help to retrieve his invention, they realize he’s not telling the whole truth. Edison searches for the true inventor and meets Ada, the scientist reluctant to accept his help. Seducing The Scientist is an engaging, well written novel I recommend.

Ada Templeton believes in science, things that can be proven, the reliability of chemical reactions and experimentation and sometimes plain common sense. She’s too intelligent and down-to-Earth to let herself be seduced by a rake like Edison Sweet. Edison is part of the Restitution League fighting injustice, composed of former thieves, liars, and con artists devoting their skills to helping and protecting those who need them. When they recognize that a client who came to them is a fraud, it becomes necessary for them to protect the real scientist who has produced an invention attracting undesirable attention. It becomes especially critical when Edison realizes the scientist is actually a brilliant woman whose intellect matches his own! Can the League keep her safe from harm as the criminal element tries to steal her work from her? Will the underworld succeed in stealing her invention?
This is another very clever story that draws the reader in for an exciting adventure. The whole idea of the Restitution League is a wonderful approach to making things right for others by those who know best how to successfully navigate that world! Grab your copy and enjoy Edison and Ada’s story!
Rating of 4.5 stars. Another grand adventure for the Restitution League! So glad Edison found his perfect match. I also liked the interweaving of Meena and Spencer dealing with their own issues. I’m looking forward to reading Caleb’s story next! Hopefully, Briar will get her story soon, too.

Another fantastic read in The Restitution League series which is a very intriguing and fantastic concept. I am reading this series backwards but it does not make a difference in the reading order. I love the science aspect of this story – both inventors and drawn to each other like moths to a flame. Edison (love the name) and Ada’s working together, side by side and their conversations, whew is it hot in here or just in their laboratory? Now onto book one and I see book four is coming out soon.
I received a complimentary copy from Booksprout.
Another lengthy novel – and my use of the word lengthy should be taken as the highest praise. It’s impressive that such a book – and a sequel no less – should be so wonderfully appealing, well put together, and heart racing, I dare say it was even better than the first.
Unlike so many series where you hear about the love interest from the precious books, but just in passing, I was pleasantly surprised to be given their perspectives at times.
I additionally loved the science focus. Very intriguing.

This was my favorite of the three books in this series. Ada and Edison had such good chemistry throughout the whole book. From the very first time they meet when Edison is breaking into her lab to find and safeguard a device invented by an A. Templeton from ruthless greedy person or persons who want the invention for their own. Edison, a known rake, is surprised to actually find himself attracted to the woman that confronts him and who he believes is the wife of the inventor, A. Templeton. Then he figures out that the woman he is so attracted to is actually the inventor he needs to protect as well as a widow who has a mind as sharply intelligent as his own.
Bring in the Restitution League, his family of former thieves and con artists who now devote their considerable talents to helping (at no charge) those who need their assistance. Of course Ada refuses to believe she needs help of any kind and only accepts after a potentially violent encounter with hired thugs trying to break into her lab. Edison saves her and she finally admits she cannot keep her invention and family safe by herself. She insists she only needs help until she can deliver her invention to the court in a few days time. But a lot can happen in a few days!!
Lots of suspense and intrigue taking place in Victorian England. I definitely recommend this whole series and will be watching for future books by Ms. Cole!!

Four and a half stars. This is an interesting story about a brilliant woman in a time when women didn’t “understand” science. I liked Ada but I fell in love with Edison right from the start. Poor Ada just wants to share her invention, but someone is trying to kill her. The story kept me trying to figure out who the bad guy would turn out to be. This is my first from this author and I am looking forward to more from her. Good job!

The second book in the Restitution League Series a well written story that held my interest throughout. This is Ada Templeton a scientist and Edison Sweet’s story with suspense, drama, and romance. A book I enjoyed reading I want to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
If you’re familiar with the first book of series about the Restitution League, you know about the cousins who are the core of it. This is Edison’s story, and has he ever met his match! The league investigates a case brought to them by a man who is clearly lying about it and find themselves embroiled in a need to protect a female scientist on the brink of sharing her world-changing discovery. Will the League be able to keep her safe? Will her invention fall into the wrong hands? Will others take credit for what she has done?
Just like the first book, I found this story to be delightfully well-written. In the parts narrated by Edison, he comes across as cocky, slightly jaded, and on the prowl for his next adventure or female. His commentary is often quite amusing, like when he said the heroine had “the delicacy of a stevedore,” which made me laugh out loud. Other sections are narrated by Meena and Ada; the latter is the heroine. I love Ada. She’s a strong, smart woman who has taken care of herself and her grandmother while pursuing her interest in science. Ada is a smart cookie but vulnerable, too, especially in her dealings with men about whom she might have a romantic interest as well as those who would belittle her mind and discoveries.
This delightful series about the Restitution League is for readers who appreciate strong women, good-hearted rogues, witty internal monologue and external dialogue, and stories where good–even if in the guise of reformed criminals–triumphs over evil. Personally, I can’t wait for the next installment!
I received a free copy of this book, but this did not affect my review.

This series is so fun. Ms. Cole has a wonderful way with creating characters you can’t help but love. Their crazy, sometimes hair-brained antics, endure the reader more to this enchanting story of reformed devils.

An Explosive second book in the Restitution League Series! What happens when you put two highly intelligent people together? Ada Templeton had a scientific mind and has come up with an invention of merit. The only problem is others want to steal it! Enter Edison Sweet. Part of the Restitution League, he is a hugh liar, con artist and inventor himself, but he tries to use his skills to help those who have been taken advantage of by others He wants to help Ada by guarding her invention and keeping her alive. What was unexpected but almost instant was the attraction between the two that was almost explosive! A great story of intrigue, suspense and wonderful characters that make this tale a wonderful read! This has to be one of my favorite books so far this year! Well done Riley Cole! Cannot wait for the next one!
