I don’t write standard Urban Fantasy, the characters go through dark times and don’t always come out on top. Primal Nature is not a romance, it is an awakening. This book has been written in UK English.

I’ve read the first three books in the Primal series and can recommend them unequivocally; this author Monique Singleton has managed to tell a story while seeming to throw out all conventional writing styles. She seems to oscillate between 1st person singular where she is the protagonist telling her story to 3rd person where there seems to be an outside narrator. Normally while reading for enjoyment as I do, this would have been a real deal breaker as far as finishing the story; having said that Monique Singleton makes it work and very nicely I must add. As I said in my first sentence, I can recommend these books unequivocally as their references and inferences grab the reader (me at least) and entices them to do some external research. So my opinion – great story.
This is well written and interesting book. The characters are engaging and well developed with a strong connection throughout the pages.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Enjoyed the first book so much, I had to go buy the next two and read them. There is a fourth and as soon as I get he funds, I will buy it also.
Looks great! Right up my ally!
Decent intro to the series. The plot moved along and kept me interested. I’ll definitely explore the series.
I did not enjoy this book. It was gratuitously violent with little plot. The dialog was not interesting. I was disappointed by the lack of back round on the characters and character development. The premise of a shape shifting feline/woman was initially interesting but the story did not follow through on potential.
This was a difficult book for me. I didn’t like the shifting from first to third person. The author writes well in both but for me it didn’t feel right. I did like that the lead was a strong female but that was about all I liked. Being very descriptive and having a strong character doesn’t make a good story. In my opinion, one needs to reach out and grab the reader in the first few chapters then follow up with a strong plot line. This felt like I was following a little string in the dark that just led me in circles going nowhere. Unfortunate.
Didn’t like the graphic torture at the start. I actually didn’t finish, it kind of got old and I quit.
Interestingly heartbreaking and a thrill a minute
good read
It was totally different and I loved the heroine. She is tough but she cares for the downtrodden. I would recommend this series of books to anyone who likes gritty, in your face action/adventure story. I loved it.
To read this series you must be prepared to deal with inhumanity and vivid cruelty. I could not enjoy the premise and stopped reading half way through the first book. I deleted the remains two unread.
Sadly, due to the nature of the story premise, there is no “happily ever-after” but still a novel concept and fascinating read.
Unique twist on shape shifting. I enjoyed the strong female main character.
Primal was a good story. Very original. It got to where I could kind of expect what was gonna happen next, I had to finish it but I won’t be picking up the next one. I believe I got it for $.99 though and it was well worth it.
No real plot, the story line was all over the place and the author told the story instead of letting the reader experience it. I struggled to keep reading because itwas just found enough I thought it would get better. I quit about 80 % in. I gave up when I realized I was skipping whole pagesof useless info and had no clue what the point of the book even was.
this was an “almost” book for me….
Nice story, writing could stand some improvement
Read the first two chapters of Monique Singleton’s book Primal Nature and you’ll be blown away by her power to engage the reader. I really appreciate that she’s attempting to do something different and speak to the deeper and more primal nature in all of us.
