Control is an art form. One Nick Fairhaven thought he mastered long ago. But gambling is a cruel mistress, and he lost everything. A chance meeting gives him hope for redemption. Now, he’s balanced on the knife’s edge between the future he wants and the past he can’t escape. Will he risk it all for the woman he loves? Or will his life be nothing but unfulfilled promises?
Usually I’m not a fan of insta-love, but somehow it worked for me in this book. This is a really well written and engaging romantic suspense, with a side serving of BDSM. The book totally drew me in and kept me engaged throughout.
I really liked both Nick and Sophia, they were a both very likeable and believable characters. The chemistry between them was intense and super hot! I liked how well they communicated too, no silly keeping secrets etc. I was surprised how much I liked Nick, he hadn’t come across too well in previous books, but finding out about Lia cast a whole new light on him. Sophia was so strong and independent, which made her submission even more beautiful.
There is a lot of intrigue and some real plot twists in the story, the pace held my attention and I totally enjoyed reading this book.
Nick is a demanding but oh so drool worthy Dom –
His character is true to self and easy to connect with
Sofia is the perfect compliment to Nick’s personality
The two together provide for a riveting and suspenseful story-
There are so many hidden twists and “No don’t” and “OMG it isn’t” scenes woven amongst some very tender and beautifully portrayed love scenes that many times I found my heart racing as I gripped the edges of my kindle looking for some form of emotional stability
I had no problem keeping up with the characters though I know I will be going back to the beginning to get all the dirty deets.
In His Collar is a fantastic romantic suspense that grabs your attention from the first page. Nick and Sofia are perfect together. He’s a bit damaged from his past and she is struggling with everything on her plate. When they meet there are definite sparks and the chemistry between them sizzles. I found myself rooting for them to overcome the obstacles thrown their way. With plenty of heat, action and suspense In His Collar will have you hooked until the very end.
This book begins as a tear jerker. It is a page turner that I couldn’t put it down. I really enjoyed it from start to end.
I was gifted an ARC in return for an honest review.
Nick had it all. Until he lost the one person who mattered most. He thought he’d mastered his demons for good. But someone wants to use them against him—and they don’t care who’s caught in the crossfire. Its not very often that I don’t finish a book, but I just couldn’t with this one, Nick and his girlfriend is a carbon copy of book 1 in this series, the brothers are supposed to be Dominant men but they are far from it, they are weak and have troublesome, needy partners. I also has this series on audiobook, Nick had an American accent in the first and in this one he had both, the male narrator doing an American accent, while the female narrator giving him a British accent so I’m not sure what happened there. The most annoying thing about this series is the repetitive use of 2 words, Shite and Cheri. This series was just not for me unfortunately and was a very poor representation of a Dom, Sub relationship and a story line that had too many flaws to detail.
For BDSM erotic book, I found it to be sweet and charming. Nicholas is a gentleman with particular tastes in the bedroom and Sofia is a strong young woman who wants to feel the safety and security of his ropes.
The story includes a mystery and sinister plot along side Nick and Sofia’s budding relationship. It is very suspenseful and a good read.
This is the fourth book in the Series. I loved it so much! This is my favorite in the Series. You can listen to this audiobook as a standalone, but really, you don’t want to miss one book in this Series! Nick and Sophia’s story has it all: hot, suspenseful, action packed, and captivating. They share an instant attraction and a strong chemistry. The secondary characters are also very interesting. I love the ending. I totally recommend this book and this Series. The narration was perfection! I love Shane East’s voice and he is perfect as Nick. Sandra Lea is a new narrator to me. She has a great voice, easy to understand. I will listen to this story (and Series) again. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily written this review.
Just a good sexy book that makes you want to go home and attack your hubby.
Terrible writing. Terrible plot. Couldn’t get past
the third chapter!
Kinda drags
I did not expect the twists and turns within the story but I rather enjoyed it. The big “rescue” at the end seems a little rushed, though. The story literally involves betrayal, grief, lost, insecurities and many more like at the end of the day family means everything and sometimes you have to stand up for each other. A very clear message leading through the whole book.
I am not familiar with BDSM or anything associated with that lifestyle, so this was an interesting read for me. The plot was enough to keep me engaged without just jumping from sex scene to sex scene. I would not want to read this type book on a regular basis, but I think this author did a good job of writing about the topic, especially for readers like me- who haven’t a clue about anything like this.
This story is about the Dom Nicholas Fairhaven (yes, Alexander’s older brother) whom may have just met not only his perfect sub, but love. It is more than just hot sex. It has suspense. It has love. It has pain. And, it has pleasure. A great rollercoaster romance with grief, danger, human trafficking, gambling, BDSM, steamy scenes and corrupt cops.
I have always enjoyed when true BDSM shows it’s also about what the sub wants and needs, rather than Just about what the dom wants or needs. This definitely has several tear-jerker scenes but Eddy has a habit of putting tears in my eyes at least once in almost each book I’ve read of hers. Just as happy with this book as I was with the others in the series. I cannot wait for more to come!
Sofia and Nick lead us on an sensual action packed thrilling rollercoaster ride. Sofia has has to put her own happiness on hold for so long but finally there is a light at the end of the tunnel. With her baby sis off for her big job and Sofia landing a spot in the Masters program she can hopefully start to focus on her dreams. While no one would consider working at the Bound a dream come true, with terrible hours and a horrendous boss, she puts up with it for the money she so desperately needs. Nick has been trying so hard to reclaim his life after an addiction to gambling took hold after losing Lia. Nothing since losing her has quelled the demons in his heart until he a chance meeting with Sofia after saving a damsel in distress the club she works in. Something about this woman brings him back to life again and he will not let her get away. But dangerous forces threaten to take away his new found salvation. Will he be able be protect his kitten?
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book.
I am about to go kick myself for not writing this review when I read the book, which seems ages ago now. This book is about the “other” Fairhaven brother. The one whose submissive died and broke his heart. The one who still holds regrets over things not said. Now, after having hit rock bottom with his drinking and gambling, Nick is given a second chance. His brother pays off his debts and in return he is to fly right. And a chance meeting with Sofia gives him another chance at love and life too. That is, if he’s smart enough to jump on it and not squander it away.
Once again, Patricia Eddy wove an interesting plot line with deep, rich characters to make a book that held my interest throughout. I’d already read In His Silks, so I was familiar with the Fairhaven family of Boston, with their British accents and their sense of right. I’d already decided the family was worth reading about, and looked forward to this book as well. It did not disappoint.
The book follows Nick and Sofia’s romance, from meeting to HEA with some danger thrown in just to keep the reader interested. Ms. Eddy is very good at that-keeping the reader wondering what the characters will get into next. I have learned that I should never assume anything when I’m reading her books, because her characters have a mind of their own. And Ms. Eddy gives them their voice.
Thank you, Patricia Eddy for writing a smooth, wonderful romance for me to read. I hope everyone who picks up this book enjoys it as wel.
This was weird. I bought the book and noticed a few strange things. Such as names of a program Sofia had been accepted into was missing. Chapter 6 was three sentences and the rest of the chapters were just st synopses Tried to reload book and is no longer available
