There is a good story/mystery that goes along with the inevitable hero and heroine getting together.
Love those dragons…
Loved the book, can’t wait for more from this author.
Bloodlines is a story about shifters from another planet. They live amongst the humans now, in their clans, with mostly keep separate from each other. When one of Malcolm’s clan member’s turns up dead, he has a mystery on his hands – one that could lead to war. Add to that, he has an off-the-scale attraction to the hotel’s new manager, and Malcolm’s life is about to get rather complicated.
This was an easy enough read, with no major plots twists or intrigue to deal with. The ‘big bad’ was pretty clear from the start, but weirdly, this did not detract from the story. The biggest detraction, for me, was the so-called relationship between Malcolm and Elsie. If you add up the time they spent together, they probably weren’t in each others company for more than 24 hours throughout the book, and yet Elsie has completely fallen for him. Not only that, but she is a complete limp lettuce where he is concerned. He walks all over her, is rude to her, only shows up when he wants sex. She is NOT okay with this (we get the monologues that tell us so), but she still “wilts” whenever he is near. Sorry, but I just didn’t get their relationship at all!
The rest of it flowed easily enough. I found the supporting characters all interesting, although some of them had reputations I wasn’t sure were deserved, or even why they had them. Apart from the main relationship, I found this book to be nicely written, with no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow.

Archaeolibrarian – I Dig Good Books!
I did not enjoy myself with this book at all….. The heroine was an unrealistic doormat…. The “H” picked her up and put her down like she was a toy to be played with….. the 1st time they have sex it’s on her kitchen floor, the moment they both reach their end,he pulls out, pulls up his pants and walked away, not even stopping to help clean her up or anything….. He never really showed her even basic respect more of the time…knowing he what he felt was a “mating” pull towards her,he dismissed it because he simply hadn’t heard of it happening w/human… Thus treating her like she was disposable and almost unworthy, that is was ok,to be jealous and wanting her all to himself, all the while he would go over a week w/out even a single word to her and often snubbing her when casually in her presence…
Yet, the heroine puts up w/it for no reason other than how he effects her physically… Then suddenly at the end of the book w/no real love shown and No relationship building what soo ever, and the mystery of who killed a clan member taking priority over everything else .. sudden;y the H willing to take her as his mate after her life is threatened and and she’s ok will Dragon’s existing and we have a very sudden HEA that felt more like a HFN with the lack of everything I’ve mentioned above….. Honestly I wouldn’t call this a romance, not sure what I’d call it but w/the “mystery” taking center and most times full stage here and the lack of a relationship just sex occasionally here and there (and that was lackluster),I really don’t know what this was….
Just. Not . A. Romance….
