EVEN THE BROKEN, THROUGH LOVE, CAN FIND GRACE…Secrets never stay hidden. The burden of guilt never lifts from the heart. Born and raised in The Order of David, Sister Phebe knows nothing but cult life. Head of the Sacred Sisters of New Zion, Phebe was groomed from childhood for one purpose: to seduce. Prized as a harlot, as a New Zion whore, Phebe is taken from the doomed cult by Meister, the … by Meister, the notorious leader of the Aryan Brotherhood. Taken as his possession. Taken to be the woman who will obey his every sexual demand. Under his heavy hand, Phebe finds herself in a place much worse than she could ever have imagined… with absolutely no one to help. And no glimpse of hope.
Xavier ‘AK’ Deyes is content with his life as Sergeant-At-Arms of the Hades Hangmen. Leader of the infamous ‘Psycho Trio’ and ex-special ops sniper, AK knows how to fight. Experienced in warfare and schooled in military operations, AK is vital to the Hangmen. When his Vice President needs help retrieving his missing sister-in-law, Phebe, from a Klan-funded trafficking ring, AK volunteers to go in. AK remembers the red-head from New Zion. Remembers everything about her from the single time they met—her red hair, blue eyes and freckled face. But when he finds her, heavily drugged and under Meister’s control, her sorry condition causes him to remember more than the beautiful woman he once tied to a tree. Saving Phebe forces hidden demons from his past to return. A past he can never move on from, no matter how hard he tries.
As AK fights to help Phebe, and in turn she strives to help him, they realize their secret sins will never leave them alone. Kindred broken souls, they realize the only way they can be rid of their ghosts is to face them together and try to find peace.
Despair soon turns to hope, and damaged hearts soon start to heal. But when their deep, painful scars resurface, becoming too much to bear, the time comes when they must make a heavy choice: stay forever damned; or together, find grace.

What a book!
This series is just amazing. But God the books are getting more and more heartbreaking. Phebe’s story is just so so sad the things this woman has been through is just horrible. There just wasn’t an end to the horror. Reading her story was hard at times I just wanted to hug her so hard. But Seeing her open up and even being to help AK through his stuff just showed what a great woman she. Even after everything she had dealt with she would do anything for anyone and would do anything to protect the ones she luvs the most.
AK is a great character I’ve been dying to know his story. He is one of the Physio Trio it him Flame and Viking. I really do luv them together they are so so close and it’s great to see them together. The way he helps Flame is just amazing. He has this calming way over Flame it’s what he needs and he couldn’t deal not having AK in his life and AK is the same. I would say that he is pretty laid but if you do something on someone close to him forget about it you would be gone end of story. Being an ex marine he has seen and been through a lot. Life has been easy but he has learn to push that to the back of his mind until this gorgeous red head got under his skin. Phebe was alway on his mind since the first time he saw her. But things weren’t goin to be easy but what was for the Hangman MC.
Omg this series is just killing me more and more I get through it. The characters just get better I could never get bored of these characters. They make me want to know more with each book. The stories are getting more crazy and darker as I get into the series but I luv it. With each book I get more addicted to them. I really wish I read this series sooner. The author is an amazing writer I luv how she has written these books and Im dying for more of this series. I would highly recommend it.
I can’t begin to tell you how excited I get when my precious Hangmen return. Each story is gripping. Filled with emotion, passion and plenty of action and suspense, I get everything I could possibly want in a story. I couldn’t have imagined what I would get from AK’s tale and the emotions that flooded me were truly intense.
AK or Xavier Deyes started out as a bright eyed boy that looked up to his big brother and wanted to follow in his footsteps. After years in the military, he finds his way to the Hades Hangmen MC. Just like the other men of the club, he too, has a past that haunts him, but he’s always been one of the jovial ones that keeps the mood light. But everyone has their days and he’s approaching his.
Determined to save the red head, Phebe, we met toward the end of Rider’s story in Deep Redemption, he finds himself revisiting all the pain of his past as he helps Phebe recover from the life she lived and the trauma she endured.
With new foes and an even more twisted villain, the Hangmen have their work cut out for them; but to see AK and Phebe both support each other as they heal from present and past wounds, it was absolutely beautiful. The connection they shared wasn’t just in the attraction and pull but it was also a shared sense of guilty. Not having been able to protect the ones they loved dearly. That failure has left a mark on them that they recognize in each other. It was sad, yet beautiful.
Each story progresses in the timeline for the Hangmen while giving us a new and refreshing look and the guys and their women. Tillie Cole even gives us a peak and Flame and his growth; which is exponential from his story in Souls Unfractured. I can tell that there is so much more to come from these guys and the bad guys they come up against. I just know it’s going to be even more amazing and nail biting.
And we got to the fifth volume. AK and Phebe. These will be the characters of the time, who guided us through their journeys. Despite having a special affection for Flame and Maddie, this was the best book so far in my opinion. All the elements existing in the others, all tragedy, anguish and dark scenery, are also present here. The big difference is that it addresses the psychological side more, how guilt can corrode a person and kill little by little.
In the previous book, Phebe, Lilah’s sister was captured by Meister (the villain of the time) during the confusion in the Order. If her life was already tragic, now in the possession of Meister, death seems to be a very inviting solution. Being trained as a child to satisfy men, Phebe does not know what is a gesture of affection. Never had anyone who cared about her desires and well-being, her only purpose was to provide pleasure. This work she has masterfully learned. If her reality was disturbing, her new role as Meister’s slave is simply appalling. Drugged, raped and tortured. This is the hell she’s in.
AK has its own secrets and traumas. But all he had to do was set his eyes on a certain redhead in order to arouse his interest. We can say that it was attraction, but there was so much more. It was the recognition that this woman hid secrets as heavy as his beneath the facade she presented to the outside world.
Ak’s story is heavy, tragic and sad. Very sad. The dreamy boy, who so young had a dream to fight, make a difference, saw everything he loved the most in the world disappear. And the weight of that guilt consumed him ever since. The whole situation with his family brought a very strong emotional charge to the book. The scene of him crying clutching the boots is sad. His dedication and selflessness in caring for Phebe showed that the boy of the past still exists. He’s just hiding under the biker.
What to talk about Phebe. Everything she suffered was hard. And if all these misfortunes were not enough, her struggle to recover from her addiction was the fuse she needed to make her lose her temper. There is a limit of how much we can take, and Phebe with all this situation, reaches her limit. Her big secret is perhaps the most serious situation faced by all the girls. And when the reader becomes aware that the person she is looking for was within reach, but in a situation as bad as hers, it is impossible not to care and want everything to be resolved in the best way.
It was a good couple, who together found the support they needed so much, that they finally let go the past and that, after all, they came out strengthened to face the new life that awaits them. It was the best book without a shadow of a doubt.
What a journey this book took us on and for me this was an emotional read and really loved the way Tillie wrote this book, being the 5th book in the series sometimes you think ok they can’t get better but this book proves that wrong for me that this book is just as awesome as the first 4
AK was always a great side character in the first books and was so excited to finally get his book to see what he was about, he was always joking about and being part of the physco trio and you just new there was something about him and that he was going to have a troubling past, for his past I felt the same as Flame, sadness and so emotional and it was hard to read about but I love AKs character he was just such a special man.
Phoebe for me was so different to her commune sisters and the way she had been brought up differently in the commune and her innocence had be taken off her so early and pretty much learned how to seduce men and get them to join the commune, she didn’t know any other way off life and when it came to trusting men and herself she had a lot to learn, I loved this character and to see her grow was fantastic.
This book just takes you on the journey of the two lives through there pasts and present with secrets that kept you turning the page to find out what had become of these two.
I loved everything about this book, the violence the storyline, the sex and the Hangman way. I love this motorcycle club and just seeing how all the members and their other halves are getting on.
The one thing I love about this series is the anticipation for the next books in this series I can’t wait to see we are lives were going to learn about next.
5 million stars for this baby. Now to start the novella sooooo excited.
This series gets better and better. A story with all the evils of the world and it’s so compelling you can’t stop reading. It’s so hard to read with the violence and It’s so hard to read with the violence and fuckupness.
Psycho trio, the bond, the brotherhood.
Everything was right about this story I don’t even know where to start.
How do you write a story with all the bad things that happen in the world but still manage to put love and heart into it, I cried the whole last part of the story it had all the feels.
I must admit Viking at the end had me pissing myself. I loved his sense of humor.
* ARC PROVIDED BY THE AUTHOR FOR AN HONEST REVIEW *
Tillie Cole did it again. I am in awe of what an amazing writer she is. She is a genius. HOLY CRAP…….. My feels! This book took me on one hell of a ride. I was all over the place with my emotions. From happy, sad, angry to straight fangirling and swooning all over this book. This series just blows me away and just keeps getting better and better. With every page I fall more in love with past couples, the main couple of the book, and each new character. Tillie Cole writes some of the most beautiful, heartbreaking, complex, and in depth characters that I can’t help but become so invested in their stories. They feel real to me. When you are a reader like me that reads 1000s of books for the most part they all start to run together. You forget them as you move on down the line to a new one. Some last longer than others but they just start blending. But there are those rare books that stick with you forever. The ones that steal your heart, burn into your soul and move you so that you know you will never forget them or get enough of them. Few authors can write books that powerful, that capture hearts. Tillie Cole is one of them authors. Books like Flame and Maddie will live in my heart forever. I will be 90 and still be a Flame fangirl lol.
Ak was so sexy. Not only was he a bad-butt biker, part of the Psycho Trio, but he was ex military which is one of my weaknesses. He was so strong for Phebe but he was broken over his past too. He faced his demons to help Phebe. Ak was so easy to love . Even though Ak had major damage from a painful past he was so caring and protective. He loved and cared for Flame, for lil Ash, Phebe, and his brothers. He was just an all around great down to earth guy. But that doesn’t mean he was a wimp. Ak was a total bad and at times a blood thirsty psycho. He also could be playful too. But the best part he was also a panty melting beast. Phebe was broken. For almost the whole book Ak was trying to pick up the pieces of Phebe’s broken spirit and heal her. Though Phebe wasn’t a super strong heroine she had a sweet vulnerability that made her endearing. I don’t know many people that could have lived through all that she had and not be broken and insane. I could totally understand her pain, addictions, and her lashing out and making stupid mistakes. Never once did I feel she was stupid or weak because of her actions, but instead she had lost hope and was drowning in pain.
Ak and Phebe had a strong connection and lots of passion. They were hot together. But more than that they were supportive of each other. The closeness they had from helping each other with the past really built up their relationship. Not as much as Flame and Maddie but I truly feel no one can come close to Madds and Flame. Maybe Lil Ash will give big brother a run for his money, but Flame and Maddie are Epic and a super high bar to be measured too. Speaking of Flame and Maddie, they have some nice parts in this book. I loved getting some POV from Flame. Loved seeing Flames relationships with Maddie, Ak, and lil Ash growing. Lil Ash had some great parts in this book too. OMG I love him. I want more Ash. I need him to get a book so badly. He is such a little Flame I know he would make an epic story. Especially from the glimpse us readers got of Ash and Saff. I am alread dying to know if they get together. Please Mrs Cole!!! Ash and Saff!
I liked that Rider was still slowly earning back some trust. I also liked that at the end he was included in the family cookout if for Bella’s sake only. Vike really shined in this book. He was funny and I can’t wait to get his book. Whenever this book would get too heavy, Vike would make me laugh. Or Tillie Cole would make me swoon at sweet Flame moments. I squealed, I mean I squealed and woke my kids up when Maddie and Flame talked about having a baby some day. SQUEALED!!! Fangirl wet dream “baby Flames”. I think I had a fangasm just thinking about it. The story line for this book was heartbreaking and very dark. Rape all over this book. It was very hard to read at times. I hated Meister and I thought that pos got off too easy being killed so fast. I wanted pain, and lots of blood. I liked getting to know Hush and Cowboy a little better in this book as they had a hand in helping get Phebe from the Meister. I can’t wait to see how Cole plays the Sia, Hush, Cowboy plot. This was another amazing book for the Hades Hangmen series.
Phebe & AK -Soul mirrors , who had to endure untold pain and guilt to have to a meet in their lives.
From then on they hold hands and travel together , because they understand each other. They see each other
“I believe that we must go through this pain we are feeling in order to move on. And I believe whatever God or greater power exists above us brought us together so we may heal together. Heal the other in a way that no other person ever could.”
It’s a beautiful story of Damnation and Redemption. As is with other Hades Hangmen, Xavier rescues Phebe from the cult, but she ends up rescuing him too.
Their love heals all wounds, and brings together their long lost family .
Her words flow poetically , some scenes are so poignant , I ended up crying over them.
Very soulful and profound writing.
Red and her Fucking Face of Freckles meets the Devil with Angel’s Eyes
The Damned Souls who together found Grace
5 Freckled Stars
“The damned souls who together found grace.”
I think it is almost impossible for me to rate any book in this series below a 4.5 stars. Tillie Cole has created such an intricate and haunting world with characters who are so complicated. All of them are looking for a light in the darkness that is their life. I was looking forward to AK’s story, because he intrigued me a lot. I wanted to know about his background, and what happened to make him join the Hades Hangmen. As always you can expect some very dark and horrific events happening in this book. Tillie is such a phenomenal author, and she shows it again in this book. Like in each book the story isn’t only about the main two characters but also about the whole Hades Hangmen community. You’ll be reunited with your favorite characters and see how they are doing. She continues to develop the main characters of the previous books, which is beautiful and also heartbreaking sometimes. Especially my favorite Hangmen Flame goes through huge changes. I love him so much.
“He was a shining beacon of hope. The only face the made me feel safe. Because there was a darkness in him too, a fellow traveler on the same uneasy road.”
Phebe and AK were perfect for each other. Both of them have a very traumatic past, and especially the flashbacks were heartbreaking. This book/series is not for the faint of heart. There is a new bad guy in town, and boy do they do some disgusting and inhumane things. There were scenes that were really hard to read and I had to remind myself that this is just a book. I am not going into the plot because the synopsis is pretty detailed about what to expect. Tillie did an amazing job in showing how someone even though you get them out of traumatizing event, they are still haunted by demons. The character development and fallback was done phenomenally. I wouldn’t change anything about this book. AK and Phebe not only saved each other but also showed that “for every dark night, there is a brighter day.” (Quote by Tupac Shakur) Sorry for the vague review, but like I mentioned I don’t think you need any more information than you get from the blurb. Just hold tight because Damnable Grace will take you on a very dark and bumpy ride. Make sure you have a lot of tissues close by.
Another excellent entry in the Hades Hangmen series. Tillie Cole’s books are so intense and dark and twisted and are good at screwing with your head. I binge read these books and just couldn’t wait to read them, and yet, when I was done, I was sad that I had finished. It’s kind of a Catch-22.
Phebe is Liliah’s blood sister. She was also a harlot for the order. She would go out and have sex with guys to drag them into the cult. When Judah saw her, he decided that he wanted her as his primary consort, right up until he didn’t anymore and handed her over to Meister, the leader of the Aryan Brotherhood and a sadistic SOB who is into all kinds of terrible things. Now she just prays for him to be done quickly and to give her another dose of potion so she doesn’t have to remember or feel any pain.
AK was a Marine but then a personal tragedy pushed him from his path as a Marine sniper to a sniper for Hades Hangmen. When he went with his brothers to rescue Lilah from the cult, her sister Phebe was there. Instead of killing her, he tied her to a tree. He hasn’t been able to get her freckles and red hair out of his mind since. When they find out that there is a chance to go get her, he signs up. The problem is that she’s currently in Hell and he’s going to have to figure out how to go there and how to bring her out.
OMG, I didn’t think anyone or anything could be worse than the cult or Judah, but I was wrong. I’m pretty sure that Meister and his little town of pasty Nazis are scarier. They are terrifying and they don’t even have the excuse of God made me do it. I have to say, every one of them that got got deserved everything that they got.
I was so glad to see that Phebe was able to get out and be safe and be safe with her family.
