The only thing more dangerous than using your magic to help a cybernetic spy find a missing criminal, is being the criminal he’s looking for…When Rune Leveau is approached by a charmingly dangerous, cybernetically-altered, corporate spy, St. Benedict, his request seemed simple: use her magical Talent to help him find an elusive criminal named Anna Masterson. But Rune has a dangerous secret: She … secret: She IS Anna Masterson.
Over the past six years, St. Benedict has searched for the Masterson Files, a computer program rumored to do the impossible—cast magic spells. The technology could reshape the world. His last hope is this Finder of the Lucky Devil, but the Finder is proving difficult… and St. Benedict isn’t going to take no for an answer.
Set in an alternate Chicago, where technology and magic are in competition with each other, this fast paced Cat-and-Mouse chase makes The Finder of the Lucky Devil a welcome addition to your urban fantasy/cyberpunk library.

I give The Finder of the Lucky Devil: A Paranormal Thriller (The Lucky Devil series Book 1) by Megan Mackie, 5 stars.
Rune has been hiding in plain sight for years. She has finally stopped looking over her shoulder at every little moment, but she is still aware. Then a stranger comes in to her bar and threatens to ruin everything. Not only could he expose her deepest secret, it could land her in that horrible place again, if not get her killed. But something about him calls to her. Should she trust him? And at what cost?
This book was incredible. I have not read this author before so I was caught unawares at just how good this story was going to be. Rune is a great main character. She is flawed like we all are, but she has a great heart. She is desperate to keep her secret, but she can’t help but aid those in need. St. Benedict is also a great main character. He is ruthless, he has been for a long time. But something about this woman has him doing things he doesn’t normally do. Also flawed, you feel him more and more as the book goes on.
Besides the character growth we see as the book progresses, the story itself is very original and you will not be able to put the book down. I would consider this book urban fantasy which is my favorite genre and I am very picky about these books. But the author gives us a story that seems effortless and so entertaining. It has plenty of action, along with humor and quite a variety of creatures in this world where fantasy and reality try to get along.
This is a fantastic story of urban fantasy and I recommend it to lovers of that genre or anyone who owns a gripping, but fun, read. I cannot wait to see where the author will take us next in this world.

The Finder of the Lucky Devil by Megan Mackie is a great introduction to her series The Lucky Devil. This was my first book and I was not sure what to expect. Megan hit it out of the park. Her attention to detail is flawless. Her complexity of her characters runs deep, There were some curve balls but she did not lead on to them and bam it happened. Rune is a running away from prison by powerful magicians. This did not please the corporation that had her in prison. There were other people who helped Rune along the way. St. Benedict made an offer that Rune (in her new identity) could not refuse. The setting is in Chicago which could be a beast of its own. Will Rune be found? Will St. Benedict figure things out? One must read the story to find out the answers.
The Finder of the Lucky Devil by Megan Mackie a five-star read that you would be luck to read. This is the first book in the Lucky Devil series and I can’t wait for more in the series. The setting in this book is great, its filled with magic and technology on a level that we can’t even begin to comprehend. This book has twists and turns that will keep you guessing and a plot line that will keep you hooked and turning pages. Rune has a way about her that will make you feel like you are there with her, trying to figure a way to help with the many problems she faces. If you enjoy a good urban fantasy with a mystery thrown in, then this is the story for you. There is a lot going on in the story, but there is a lot of story to fill, its well-paced, with a little wobble towards the end, but overall very well written and just what you need to while away a few hours.
The Finder Of The Lucky Devil: A Paranormal Thriller by Megan Mackie is the first book in her The Lucky Devil Series. This book effortlessly combines the magical with the technological in a way that will leave you excited for the rest of the series.
Rune has a special talent – a talent for finding things. When she is approached by someone who is desperate to find a missing person she knows she is in trouble. The mysterious man won’t take no as an answer but Rune can’t down what he is asking – to track down Anna Masterson. The reason? She is Anna Masterson and she is determined to stay hidden.
When one force meets the other it is a battle to see who will come out on top. And maybe the end might not be something either is they expected.
This book was brilliant. The combination of magic and technology was done in a way I had never read before. The book was utterly gripping, the story clever and well written, the characters effortlessly right. I found I couldn’t put this book down at all. I can say certain that I am already excited to read the next book in this series.
There is so much going on in this book that it has colors swirling in my head. Darkness from the inside of a bar, swirling blues and reds from orbs and crystals, and lightness from Rune’s being who she is (I am aware that darkness and lightness are not colors but I can’t think of how else to describe).
This is a book that is steam punk, futuristic in the past and magical all at the same time. Because of the way the first few chapters flowed, I was reading it half in real dimensions and half in animation (Again, that sentence doesn’t make sense but I think you know what I mean).
I passed up this book several times and now that I’ve read it once, I WILL go back to read it again for all of the nuances. It is one of those books that gets better as it became more understandable. I really really enjoyed it and appreciate the story.

The Finder of the Lucky Devil: A Paranormal Thriller (The Lucky Devil series Book 1) by Megan Mackie
4 out of 5 stars
This book started out with a hung bang. My heart is still racing several hours after finishing this book. What an incredible story this author has built. I must say that i thoroughly appreciated the prologue. Often i find that the prologue can be absorbed within the first chapter is just useless information, but this one was well thought out and added to the story.
What an awesome name is Rune? So very cryptic, much link how the character can be at times. I must confess, there were moments when I had the urge to yell through the book for her to gain some serious common sense, however, she did eventually get herself together and I was much happier with her in the end.
Let’s talk about Saint Benedict. Holy Crap. If you ever thought of James Bond, mashed with a James Dean and that Devil may care attitude, you have him.
I loved this book. I am excited to the next one to come around!
The Finder of the Lucky Devil: A Paranormal Thriller (The Lucky Devil series Book 1) Megan Mackie was freaking fantastic!
I am so excited right now cause that book was astonishing. Right from the prologue, to the opening chapter it was fast pace, explosive and addicting. The writing was easy to follow, the world building, and little all over the place, but fit the complete chaos that seemed to explode all at once. The information was giving at the rights times, no info dumping here.
Rune was pretty badass. This was a journey for her and I’m glade she pulled her broken self together in time to pretty much pull a miracle out of her behind. St. Benedict, I got some theories about him, and I need to read the next book to see if I’m right, though I have a feeling that if this is going to be a long series, as most Urban Fantasies are, it might be awhile. What I will say, he was a perfect match for Rune, they worked like they were destained to, and from a few choices words, and slight foreshadowing, I have a feeling they are going to much more.
There is a slow burn romance building, and I’m officially invested. So please take my high recommendation that you will not only love this book, but fly through it like I did. Don’t get discoursed by the word count. Because of the pace and no lulls, it’s a very fast read. With that said.
Happy Reading.

The Finder of the Lucky Devil: A Paranormal Thriller (The Lucky Devil Series Book 1) by Megan Mackie is the first book in her The Lucky Devil series. This is my first book by this author and I enjoyed it. I can’t wait check out her other books. I enjoyed how this author was able to pull me right from the beginning. She made me feel as if I was right there with the characters. This is kind of like a who done it book where the characters are active right from the beginning. Right from the start they leave you questioning about them. There are twists and turns in this book that I didn’t see coming but made me want to find out more. This is a story about woman who is great at finding things until one person comes along to take it away. Rune is great at finding things but has a whole lot of problems. When she is approached by a spy to help find a wanted criminal. The problem with this is, she is the criminal, she is who is looking for. What will she do when the spy refuses to take no for an answer? St. Benedict, the spy, has spent the last six years looking for the computer program that is rumored to have the ability to cast spells. There is only one person who knows anything about it and he is determined to find that person. This story is engaging and fast paced. I highly recommend this book. Find out if Rune’s secret is exposed and if the computer program will do what it is rumored to.

I was very excited to read this. Sadly I really struggled with it. At first there is so much action that kept my interest. But as time went on it seemed like it was only action and not much else. No answers to question just more questions piling on. I sadly started to get bored. But I powered through hoping for something more. In the ending some questions were answered. Other not. I was not kidding when I said it’s full of action. It was that way through the whole book. There are numerous numerous characters. Which should be expected since this is a Paranormal. But most were fleeting and others were left in the dark too much to figure out their purpose.
The main character Rune did have much character development. The male in the book St Benedict was very different. I really didn’t connect with him and never figured out what he all was other than not all human. This takes place in a new world with high developing technology along with the old world of witchcraft which interested me. .
I liked the idea of the story but it wasn’t enough for me. Maybe some downtime where we could get to know more about the characters. The author did a nice job of bringing most everything together in the end and leave something for future books.
