Seasons ago, I resonated to the quietest of tribesmates, a male content to love me from afar while I was the center of attention. We could have been happy. Despite our differences, I loved him and he loved me. But then a terrible thing happened…and my world was never the same again. Now resonance is giving us a second chance, but…I’m afraid. What if what I have with my mate is too broken to be … too broken to be fixed? What if there’s no hope left for us at all?

I really like this series. It’s fun! The double POV’s give it a certain flair adding to my enjoyment. It’s a pattern I have come to adore. The books carrie with them sexy hero’s, likable heroine’s, sweet, funny and sexy moments. I also adore the world Dixon has created and the strong cast of characters.
In Barbarian’s Hope we focus on Asha and Hemalo, both are blue aliens, whose relationship has fallen apart after the devastating loss of their baby. It focues on two people who love each other, drifted apart, but come back together after this tragic event.
Ash isn’t my favorite character, but it was nice to see her. At first she’s kinda a bitch, but as the series continues we get to learn and see more about her. As for Hemalo I liked him, but I felt we didn’t get to really know him, dig deep into his character. We learn things, but it didn’t feel as all consuming as privies titles and so, I ended up not having any really connection to these two. The main issue with both was the communication. They didn’t communicate, so it made them make choices and think things that aren’t really true.
As for my connection to the story. I think why I didn’t connect to this story was besides the POV’s of Asha and Hemalo, we also get a lot of Clair’s POV. Their was equally parts for all three characters and it was still nice to see a different view point, but it took away from the focusing on the main couple.
Barbarian’s Hope was an enjoyable read. Ice Planet Barbarians is one of my favorite Science Fiction Romance series to read. They are sexy and romantic. I recommend if you want to read this book that you start at the begging. The series is so much better in order.
Rated: 3 Stars
Barbarian’s Hope (Ice Planet Barbarians #11) by Ruby Dixon – This is on kindle unlimited. DAW!!! Like super major totally flippin cute!!! Asha has been the mopey pain in this series, but her reconciliation story was so sweet! Hemalo and Asha deserve all the HEAs! Happy Reading!
Oh man this one tore me up. I don’t know how Asha managed to stay sane after the loss of her baby many many seasons ago. Her and Hemalo resonated and this shocked the tribe. It is so weird to see how the khui finds the perfect mate. Hemalo is one who is laid back it seems and Asha used to want to be the center of attention. After their loss though neither knew how to help one another. It is sad because they push each other away. Hemalo decides that maybe he needs to be in the same room with Asha. It is heart breaking to read what they go through. However, finally someone gets through to Asha and tells her that Hemalo went through the same thing and hurting just as much as she is. He tries to talk to her and she pushes him away. However, they start to resonate again and this seems to be a game changer. Can they get past the hurt and move on to a better future. Only time will tell. This book is emotional and I loved it.
I recommend it for fans of Barbarian Planet books. I felt it took too long for the reconciliation, as the protagonists’ story had been occurring throughout the whole series.
This is the story of Asha and Hemalo story. Tragedy has broken them apart and now it is time for healing to bring them back together. I didn’t like Asha from the previous books, but she redeemed herself and it broke my heart.
Love this entire series!
This one was so wonderful!! Asha and Hemalo have completely stolen my heart! Their story is of loss and hurt and finding their strength to begin again. This was hard to put down. They captivated me and I loved reading about them. They are such a unique couple!! Watching them fall back in love with so amazing!!!
We Also got Claire’s POV once again and I loved it. It was so nice to see her again and to see her become friends with Asha. This book is so full of emotions. A wonderful addition to this series!!! I truly loved this book!
While I have never really been all fired up for a book about Asha and Hemalo, I did thoroughly enjoy this one. Bring your tissues folks. It’s beautiful and sad, too.
Barbarian’s Hope is a second chance romance that got under my skin! I had found Asha to be quite bitchy before this book and Hemalo was, well just there. But this book made my heart bleed for them. Watching them find their way back together and finally dealing with their grief is what second chances are all about.
Again, another excellent book in the storyline. I’m amazed at the authors ability to write so well about the emotions a grieving mother faces.
If you’ve recently lost an infant child (like me, my daughter, born at 36 weeks, was only with us for just 2 hours due to Potter’s Syndrome complications) this book could be a trigger. That being said, the author was so respectful of the topic, that although it brought me to tears, the authors notes at the end of the book reminded me that I’m not alone, and many of us are suffering with the loss of our child. Like Asha in the book, we’re just trying to figure out how to move on but get other people not to forget our child.
Lots of love to all the mommy’s like me out there.
