Follow the golden light
I am not usually one for serial books, but this is a growing story that can only get better. The author did a fantastic job of creating characters we have to see through to their HEA. Does Adara end up with the vampire, the wolf, both, alone? Will the nightmares never end? Who is the strong golden beauty in her dreams? Don’t ask me! I’m waiting for the next book to find out myself. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next!
I’ll admit it, I didn’t read the blurb before starting this book, and part of me was happy about that. As the story unfolded, as the mysteries built, and the characters encountered new problems, I was right there with them. The seemingly omniscience of Titus is called into doubt by the end. The infallibility of Logan, flawed at pivotal points. Adara, we learn why she is, but not who, and her pain radiates at us, and is completely justified. Dark and evil things lurk and grab, and it is infiltrated deeper than expected, as we shockingly find out in the ending. But strength is there as well, because the pain doesn’t break, and forgetting doesn’t heal, and enough is enough, and it is time to fight back!
Another great book by Eve Langlais. This book has lots of action, mystery, intrigue and two hot guys. Totally addicted! The narrator is new to me but she does a fantastic job.
Great Start to a New Series
Great start to a new series. A dark urban fantasy, with Zombies, Lycans, Vampires, necromancers and demons.
Adara is a frail women plagued by nightmares, black outs and amnesia. Logan is a lycan alpha, leader of his pack. He and his wolf are drawn to Adara, after saving her from a zombie attack. He doesn’t know what she is, she’s not human and not any other paranormal being that he knows. He is determined to protect her.
Titus is an old and powerful vampire, master of the city. He is drawn to Adara through her nightmares. He doesn’t know what she is, and like Logan, he has a need to protect her.
Both Logan and Titus are falling for Adara, as they help her recover her memories. They have more questions than answers. It seems she is cursed, bound by powerful magic and powerful beings want to use her or destroy her.
Adara is drawn to both Logan and Titus. She sees the danger she brings to them. To keep them safe she has to leave them behind.
The story ends in a cliffhanger, and a betrayal. Can’t wait for the next book.
Sooooooo good! A little to short but I’m hooked & cant wait to see what happens next!
Excellent book!
A dark and gripping tale of a woman with no past, a werewolf who craves her, and a vampire who desires her. Adara is on her own, holding down a barely-getting-by job at night in a bad part of town; living in an apartment that should have been torn down years ago. She remembers the institution she was in, and she remembers the doctor who is still helping her – but is helping her to remember or to forget?
Logan keeps the streets safe in his town. He is the local wolf pack alpha, and the denizens of the street know better than to mess with him. One night, he happens upon a zombie about to take a bite out of Adara. From that point, he’s hooked. She smells so wonderful, but what is she? He needs to find out, but first he must keep her safe.
Titus can hear Adara screaming in her dreams, and he wants to help the beautiful woman. His vampiric nature allows him to help in a way that Logan can’t – but the two of them need to work together to keep her safe and unlock her memories. What is making her forget?
A departure from this author’s normal light-hearted romance novels, I wasn’t sure if I would like it or not. However, it does deliver on the promise of action-packed adventure. Dreams of Darkness takes us deep into Adara’s troubled past in order to prepare her for her future. It might be too dark for some readers, but there is that “light at the end of the tunnel” feeling; and you know that Adara will come out on top by the end of the series (at least she better!) There is no HEA just yet, but there is hope. And I still can’t wait for the next book to come out!
I enjoyed the way you bring your characters to life.
Loved this book. It definitely draws you in and makes you anticipate the wait for the next book.
Great book..hate hate hate..no ending..so wait for the next in a series..I probably won’t.
I started and finished this book all in one day, there was no putting it down. I absolutely loved the entire series.
Dreams of Darkness by Eve Langlais is an amazing story that I have read. This is book number one in this amazing series that I have fallen in love with and I can not wait to read the next story. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about shifters, horror and fantasy in their stories.

********SPOILERS, SPOILERS ********
This was quite the departure for me. I love Eve Langlais’s other books, with their breezy sassiness, humour and ridiculous shenanigans 🙂
This one is quite a lot darker. We have our vampire, werewolf, zombies, necromancers, at.al. Lots of angst, tortury torment, amnesia and riddles to solve. I started out hating Adara. So used to kickarse heroines, who hand out insults and gunfire, as quick as they kiss, she is something outside the box. As I learned more and more, I saw just how strong she was.
If you want something out of the usual, with unknowing twists and turns, give this book a go.
Do be aware that is is a LOT darker than the usual, and if you are a bit of a chicken, like me, don’t read it just before bed, and if you do, don’t forget your night light

This book went completely off the trail compared to Eve’s normal style. A lot darker than what we are used to, she tests the boundaries with her writing skills by going dark. Having said that, I enjoyed taking this walk on the dark side with Eve. Good plot line, despite the cliffhanger! Paranormal romance at its darkest. Don’t expect her usual fluffy bunny/growly Alpha. More intense romance for this series.
