My name is Iphigenia Holt, otherwise known as “the good little witch” to family and friends. How do I break out of that box? By doing something unexpected and taboo, like falling in love with multiple men. Falling in love with *anyone* seems impossible for me, much less a bad-boy vampire. And yet, that’s exactly what happens. And not just him, but his cousins too. A trio of shifter brothers, … including a dragon with an overprotective streak.
But maybe they’re the ones who need protecting from me, not the other way around. Because my mother is the most powerful witch in the world, who conveniently left out my connection to a dark, hidden otherworld threatening our town.
How can I, the perfect daughter and beloved sister suddenly be the talk of the town and its unlikely savior?

Such a delightful change from the usual shifter romances! I especially love the dragon.
This is the first book that I have read by this author, and I grabbed the book because gives a unique spin on the supernatural/paranormal reverse harem genre. The world building and characters are great and keep you pulled in with all the tension that is sprinkled throughout the pages.
I like this story, the storyline is intriguing and entertaining. Iphi and her story are different from anything I’ve read lately and that is awesome and is keeping my interest so far. I can’t wait to see where her story goes and how she is going to deal with the group. I love the circus angle with her, its different and I love it. Hopefully book 2 starts where book 1 left off I can’t wait to read it!
Distant Light – Reverse Harem Paranormal Romance (Tales From the Edge Book 1) Kindle Edition
by Chloe Adler
I borrowed this book from the KU program and am leaving an honest and fair review.
Iphigenia is more than she seems. A witch in a world of magic, she is a circus performer and a people pleaser.
Her mother is a very passive-aggressive, manipulative, narcissistic woman who has chased away all of her other daughters and treats Iphie as if she were 11, not the grown woman.
Her men are sexy otherworlders from the Edge (which is where the magical people live, separate from us normal folk) – three shifters and a vampire. The characters are pretty standard. The tough guy, the dreamer, the artist and so on.
The book is fun and Iphie is a great character. While this is a standalone series, it appears to be part of a world of other series, so there is a feeling of not having all the information
I enjoyed the story, but may step back and try to catch up, which is something I don’t enjoy. I prefer, if you are giving readers linked series, a little more back-fill would be great!

Supernatural. Rh. 5 guys. 3 shifter 2 crossbreeds. Talented, smart, super carrying, powerful witch heroine. Iphi is a witch living for others. When the shifter brothers come to protect her, she figures she should live for herself and not her mother. Steamy, very steamy. There is a bit of jealousy but it gets cleaned up rather quickly. Love the plot and story.
This is my first book by Chloe Adler, but will not be my last. I was Iphigenia is awesome, and her guys are great. I liked that Iphigenia worked in the circus – it was so unique and also, the circus wasn’t really portrayed like a bunch of crazies like I have seen in other books. I liked that we see how much Iphigenia has worked and prepared for her performances. I thought the take on shifters – having different forms was unique.
This is a reverse harem story. I really liked how Iphigenia’s relationships with each of the guys was developing, and how she appreciated their protectiveness, but stood up for herself too. The book does end on a cliffhanger – I hope book 2 is out soon.
Iphi might just be my favorite! I have loved every book in this series, and I do think they need to be read in order to get the most enjoyment out of them, but there is just something about Iphi that appeals to me on another level. She has always been one of my favorites, even when she was taking a backseat, and I’m so excited that she got her own story. Not just a story, but an intense, action-packed, exciting, heat-filled story. It was perfect!
I don’t want to say anything about the plot, so I’m just going to tell you what I like about Chloe Adler’s writing. Each of her books is completely different. The characters are connected to each other, but each of them have their own paths to their HEA. Usually after 5 books you will start to see a pattern, but that isn’t the case with this series. That doesn’t mean that there isn’t an overall plot arc, but the originality that has gone into each character and story line is wonderful. The story isn’t rushed or forced, the characters are wonderfully developed and interesting, the continuing story line is fabulous and full of detail. I am already anxious to get my hands on the next book in this series, but I appreciate the fact that I have to wait. I know that perfection doesn’t happen over night, and this book (and series) is perfection!
