All she needs is someone to prove her wrong.Laurel’s life bears no resemblance to the love stories she writes. While handsome heroes are easy to imagine, they’re much more difficult to find. Years of bad dates with creepy men have left her feeling cynical toward all things related to love. When she and her best friend find themselves caught up in Morna’s meddling magic and are transported to … and are transported to seventeenth century Scotland, Laurel meets a man who threatens to change her attitude toward matters of the heart.
After two years away, Raudrich returns to his home on The Isle of Eight Lairds to resume the duty he’s pledged his life to. When he arrives, he finds an out-of-time lassie asleep in his bed. The woman intrigues him, and it doesn’t take long before she captures his heart. But something inside causes her to resist her feelings. If only he could help her love herself, perhaps she would have room in her heart to love him in return.
As their feelings grow, so does the strength of an evil held captive beneath the castle—an evil that will do anything to escape.
Will Laurel open herself up to the possibility of love? If she does, can she find the power within herself to outwit the evil she’s destined to face?

One of my first time travel books; now I am hooked. I have read all the books in the series and highly recommend them.
I absolutely love these novels. I can’t get enough of them. I finish one and have to start the next one immediately! The stories are exciting and fun to read. The story line is intriguing. Thank you Bethany.
Great book,I’ve read the series and they are an easy read and I’ve enjoyed each and every one. Love all the characters and their stories.
I am enjoying this series. Really good and very entertaining.
A wonderful example of the time travel romance genre. Great story telling and interesting characters. She really puts the reader in the story.
I always enjoy Bethany Claire’s books, but I found that this book ended a little abruptly. It seemed like it was just a setup for the next book, with no real wrapping up of loose ends.
Bethany Claire, OMG!! This must be the best of all your books!! I loved it.
When I read Morna’s story, I was a little disappointed to be left not knowing Laurel and Marcus’s story’s end, but you wrapped it up in a wonderful suspenseful and tantalizing story.
Bethany Claire has done it again! Laurel is a writer who lives in present day Boston. Raudrich is a laird who lives in Scotland in the year 1651. Leave it to Morna to send Laurel and her friend Marcus back in time to encounter Raudrich and the rest of the Lairds from The Isle of Eight Lairds. See what happens when they work together to break the curse. Can it be done?
Easy, fun read if you enjoy this genre. Different characters, same plot.
As with all Bethany’s stories, Love Beyond Words sweeps you into the intrigue and romance of a cross-century couple. Rarely do I feel I want to time travel, except when I’m engrossed in one of Bethany Claire’s romantic stories of love, excitement, and of course, “happily ever after”. Can’t wait for the next installment of Morna’s Legacy.
Like all of the Morna’s Legacy series, this is a wonderful imaginative time-travel fantasy with great historical settings and well-drawn characters – plus a great love story.
This is a great time travel series.
I have read and loved all the books in this series so far, and this one was no exception. This book introduces a whole new set of characters and a new castle, complete with additional magical elements. It also opened the door for many more books in this series, or possibly a spin-off series, although I have come to love Morna’s meddling ways, so I would hate to see her left out of any future books. No matter which direction the books spawned by this one take though, I will be eagerly awaiting their release! If you have not read any of the books in the Morna’s Legacy series, start at the beginning, because you are not going to want to miss a single thing!
You have got to read this!
I really enjoyed the story because of how different it was from other books in the series. The boy gets the girl… or should I say the girl gets the boy, but there is so much more. Morna is up to her old tricks, but this time the way she sends our travelers back is so different. Shall I say against their will. But all turns out ok as you know it will. Laurel our main character finds love with Raudrich… a handsome man, of course. But, her friend Marcus is sent back with us. Yes, Marcus is male. We’ve not had a male sent back quite like this. Anyway, without giving too much away… there is a new castle, lots of new characters, love, excitement, and MAGIC from someone other than Morna.
This is the best book in the whole series. You still have Morna and Jerry (and a few other beloved past characters), but you also get a whole bunch of new characters! In addition, there is a new setting and a LOT more magic. All of this adds up to a most magical story that will have you totally enthralled! I can’t wait to see what is next!
After Morna’s story in Love Beyond Reach, I wondered how Bethany would bring us back into the series. It felt a little like a series ending…but Love Beyond Words jump starts us into a new world of magic…and more. I couldn’t put it down! And now, I can’t wait for the next book!
OMG this is Bethany Claire at her best.
I’ve been a Bethany Claire fan for two years now. I’ve read all of her books…the original series, the ‘sweet’ version of the original series and I’ve listened to the available audio books. Love Beyond Words is my new favorite. There’s some old characters, lots of new characters….some old magic…some new magic…and a touch of well done supernatural. This new book opens the doors for so many new stories. I’m excited for what’s to come.
I love, love, love this book. This book is a bit different than the others in the series and it is fantastic. The romance, the characters, the magic all make for a terrific story. This book more than any other has left my mind whirling with whose story will be coming, there are so many possibilities! I’m not sure I will be able to wait!!
As usual with this series, Love Beyond Words is a great addition to the existing books but can easily be followed without having read the other books. Although as a fan of Bethany and the series, I highly recommend reading them all if you haven’t already.
This is the most enjoyable Bethany Claire novel yet. The book offers a wonderfully balance amount of mystery, fantasy, and romance and, as always, fun time traveling stories. I originally found Bethany’s books looking to fill an Outlander void and I love these books much more than the later Outlander books. The new characters introduced in this novel are both believable and I really connected with the main character as she is beautifully flawed just like the rest of us. Also, who doesn’t want to fall in love with a strapping, stall, kilt-wearing Highlander? We’re in for a ride in future novels as it sets up some really great stories moving forward. The only thing I don’t like about these books is that Morna isn’t a real person, she’s the best.
