Thump. That’s what my heart did when I saw her.The vivacious lead singer of the world-famous band, Luminous.Effa’s bubbly, quirky, and she’s about to rock my world. While going on tour with an all-female rock band should be intriguing, I’ve left someone behind. Someone so important it could be the difference between life and death. Lines are blurred, jealousy flares – Effa sets my pulse racing, and … Effa sets my pulse racing, and she’s going to change everything.

I loved Osborn’s Rock God series and couldn’t wait to get reading this new addition to her rock star world.
This one is different as it features an all girl band, and that was refreshing in its own right as most are all about male bands.
Effa is the lead singer and bit of a hippy chick – sometimes that trait got annoying but it was who she was, her manger gets the band a new light tech in the form of Mercs – the attraction was instant for both of them there was no denying that.
Mercs was not without his troubles though, he is always in the road with bands making money to help with his sister’s treatment.
Now I loved Mercs from the start with his devotion to his sister and his whole caring demeanor, but then he changed and became a totally different person, kinda like and asshole to be honest. It was unexpected given how he was perceived at the start.
Be warned though this ended on a massive cliffhanger that leafy me cursing! If you love Osborn, if you love rock star romance you will LOVE this book.
Oh my gosh my heart the cliffhanger killed me I so did not see that coming just WOW . I really enjoyed Pulse it drew me in from start to finish with lovable characters and refreshing story line . I’ve had the pleasure of reading the Recoil Rock series were the luminous are introduced mainly Effa who I adore the way she embraces her uniqueness . From the first meeting between Effa and Mercs they shared a undeniable attraction that built into a inferno that couldn’t be extinguished add in sex scenes that will leave you tingly and love the way how their opposites but similar in some ways . Effa is amazing she’s confident , funny , kind , sassy , beautiful, strong , talented she was just one of those characters you can’t help but be drawn to , love the relationship she has with her band mates and crew (I hope they all get their own stories ) . Mercs is pure yummyness loved everything about him the way he is with his family and then the heroine he became super swoon worthy , he’s sweet , protective , talented , down to earth , and knows how to evaporate panties (wink) . I formed a strong attachment to the characters and story line which is so refreshing with the heroine being in a all women rock band and the hero being the lighting director they compliment each others work her with music him with creating lighting that went perfect with it . I’m so anxious to read the next book but also excited to see whats to come , looking forward to whats to come for K.E Osborn in the future .

Merc’s (Kaiden) and Effa’s story will have you on the edge of your seat. This action packed girl band has all the feels that will make you fall in love. Omg what an ending I so need to know what happened. Merv and Effa life’s are so different but both hectic that together they are it except for the nasty Jett. This is a must read book that I would highly recommend to others. Can’t wait for book two.
KE Osborn knows how to write a rocker romance and Pulse is absolute proof of that. With this being the first book in the duet of Effa and Merc’s story this book will have your pulse racing and your heart beating to a connection between these two that cannot be denied. As the lead singer and the new lighting technician embark on a relationship that no one is happy about, they come up against road blocks that they need to detour around. Pulse will keep you on the edge of your seat and hold your attention as if you were at a Luminous concert afraid to look away in case you missed anything. As you feel the energy between these two drift from the pages into your heart there will be times when you find yourself holding your breath not sure which way things will pan out. This first part in their story is full of chemistry, secrets, discoveries, compassion, drama and so much passion it radiates from every word written. As Pulse comes to a close you will be left with your heart in your throat and one clicking the next book to ensure that you can finally Breathe.
Awesome story, I loved this book.
I am a huge Rockstar Romance lover, so when I heard this novel surrounded around an all girl rock band I was immediately in! As for my rating and my review. I’m on the fence on how I’m going to approach this. I had my likes, but I also had my dislikes.
I did enjoy Pulse, but it took me sooooo long to actually get into the storyline to the point of wanting to read more.
I liked the premise of an all girl rock band and I really liked the female protagonist Effa (Effervescent). I loved her hippie ways. However, It was a turn off being constantly reminded of her hippie ways and the fact that she is in fact a hippie.
I really enjoyed the male protagonist (Mercs) for the first half of the novel. He was sweet and endearing. He came across as the boy next door and I loved how he hated being far away from his family, but knew he had to work in order to provide for his Grandmother and his ill sister. But throughout the novel, his character suddenly morphed into an alpha asshole. Don’t get me wrong I love alpha ass characters, but only when the novel starts off with an alpha ass. Mercs seemed like a douche in the second part of this novel. Which ended up being an immediate turn off.
Oh my world is that a mighty cliffhanger…I hate cliffhangers, but this one has me FINALLY intrigued and wanting to see what happens next.
Overall,
I wanted to love Pulse but sadly (In my Opinion) this novel was just okay. I do plan on picking up the next book in the Luminous series called Breathe.
I loved reading a Rock Romance about a female rock group that more than holds their own against the male rock bands. Luminous can rock out a stadium and then turn around and have a wild party that rivals any rocker out there. When Effa the lead singer of Luminous, the hottest all female rock band from down under meets lighting technician Kaden “Mercs” Mercury the sparks fly. The chemistry between Effa and Mercs is off the charts hot. This book has strong characters, great story and twists that keep you reading page after page. Great read and I can’t wait until the next book.
This is quite an amazing book, very entertaining and well written. Singer Effa is an easy going zen type of person who meets Merc the lightning expert, and boy do they ever light up the room with electricity and lightning bolts. This book does have a second book and you will NEED to read what happens to Effa and Merc. I’m waiting for book #2 Breathe. It’s definitely a cliff hanger and will keep you on hands and needles until you read this book.
Rock girl band. The band is rocking through the States. In comes the literally poor lightning technician Mercs. He fell hard for Effa the band leader. The man just can’t seem to catch a break. She does reciprocate his feelings, but knows nothing of his troubles. He is a proud man who looks after his gran and sick sister.
I hate men who has to drug women to get laid. The book ends on a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to read the next one.
Pulse is a book with a rollercoaster plot. Each chapter will have you either smiling, loving, biting your nails, or hating one or more characters.
I love rock band stories, and I have been a fan of Ms. Osborn and once again she delivered a book that will leave you wanting more.
This book contains some material not suitable for younger readers. Readers Discretion Adviced.
I voluntarily review an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This is my first read by KE Osborn and just dang!! I don’t know how to put into words what I just read. And that ending!!!! Is it February 21 yet?
It was such a pleasure to read and experience Mercs and Effa falling for each other. It was sweet, it was sexy, and it was real. And on top of that we got to meet Gran and Kiera, two of the most important people in Mercs’ life. It was a joy to get inside their heads and I can’t wait for more! And this definitely won’t be my last read by Ms. Osborn!
5 HEARTBEAT STARS!! OMG….I can’t believe my heart is still beating after finishing this story. This book has all the feels my heart has went through happy, sad, excited, love and flat out broken. K.E. Osborn has taken us on a beautiful tour of a all girl rock band, inside and out. I loved Effa, she is a beautiful lead singer and knows what she wants. Kaden is a hot lighting director that starts working for Luminous the band. These two have a story to tell us and you will want to hear it. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
I loved that this was an all girl band. \m/ Girl Power \m/
Effa (Effervescent), leader of Luminous has no idea she needed someone to “light” up her life on and off the stage into “Merc” comes into her life.
Kaden Mercury needs this new gig. Does he need it more than the bubbly, hippy lead singer that he cannot shake from his thoughts?
It did take me a bit to get into the book, but the ending really took off and then dropped a HUGE cliffhanger on my lap. I can’t wait until I can “Breathe” again after that ending!
I love a well executed cliffhanger and this one was great!!
OMG! Mercs has the weight of the world on his shoulders as he provides for his grandmother and sister, Kiera, who is battling cancer. As a lighting technician, this puts him on the road with different bands providing the magical lighting that enhances their stage shows. Luminous is a hot all girls rock band taking the US by storm but a huge error with their lighting forces them to look for a new technician to take over and Mercs is at the top of the list. When Mercs meets Effa, the lead singer, for the first time, he is captivated by her quirky ways. Effa is a beautiful light with an incredible heart. She sees the good in people and has a way of being in touch with the world around her in a very spiritual way. She is struck by the electricity she feels with Mercs. Luke, the band manager, warns them about having a relationship, not wanting to jeopardize the tour. But Mercs and Effa have found a once-in-a-lifetime connection that neither can deny. They both have trust issues to work through while Mercs struggle with finding the money needed to provide Kiera with the best treatment possible. Add in a jealous lead singer from the opening act for some crazy drama and you have a fabulous rock-n-roll romance. Oh, and the other band members add for a great mix of personalities that have bonded into this unique family. Yes, be prepared for an intense cliffhanger which is so worth it. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
