From USA Today Best- Selling Author comes book one in The Sweet Sin Series.Meet the men of the rock band, Trained in Black.“Our someday will come soon, Joslyn.” Those words were the last words I heard from Roman Nixon before I walked away. I knew our someday might come, but not the one he and I had always dreamed about. His life headed in one direction, mine in the other. While Roman became the … Roman became the lead singer for the successful rock band Trained in Black, I became a ruthless attorney.
He moved on and married someone else. As I was forced to observe him and his bride on the cover of every magazine out there, I deserved to suffer because of what I had done.
What I didn’t expect was a phone call that led to me becoming his new attorney.
After years apart, our opposite worlds collide. This time, we may get our someday. But first, we have to find a way to steer us in the right direction

This story started off with a racy scene so I was initially wondering if there was going to be a plot, but yes, there is. I’m not a big fan of second chance romance, but I do like romantic suspense. If you’re a fan of both, especially if it’s heavy on the second chance and the emotions/descriptions, then this would be a great choice for you. I would have liked to give the story 4.5 stars.
I listened to the Audible version. Lacy Laurel and Logan McAllister did an excellent job with the narration. I always appreciate when they have two narrators for two different points of view.

Well omg i loved this story how a second chance at love may always come at a price but this story shows that nothing no matter how bad will stand in the way of happiness.
This story follows Roman front man for tained in black. Roman and his band mates hate the press but when his life from the past come to haunt him through the press he snaps and winds up in a cell and only his past can help him.
5 Star review of The Right Direction by Kathy Coopmans
Audio Review:
Having read and or listened to quite a few books by Kathy Coopmans, I was intrigued by this story. Narrated by Logan McAllister and Lacy Laurel they did a great job of bringing this story to life.
I can’t quite put my finger on it, I’m really not sure why, but it took me a while to get in to this story but I did I find this second chance at love story to be well written and entertaining. Both Roman and Joslyn were strong characters and The Right Direction was emotional, suspenseful and gritty.
Surviving foster care can be so hard and bonds formed are often unbreakable and although they are pulled apart by life, they never forget. When life brings them back together, will this be the beginning of something wonderful or will danger rear it’s ugly head?
Kathy Coopmans managed to surprise me whilst listening to this book and I look forward to reading and listening to more in the future.

Audiobook version:
Kathy gave us great characters. A couple separated by life that is given a second chance at love. I had a little trouble getting into the story for some reason. It was a good story, I just found myself not as immersed as I would have liked. Narration was great. I love Lacy’s Male voice better than most others done by female narrators. All in all, it was a good book.
Goodness me! Where do I start with this book?! From the very first page I knew this book was going to break my heart……and it did! The emotions poured off every page, wrapping me up and pulling me in.
Damn Kathy Coopmans is amazing! She made me feel every little thing as I tried to tiptoe through this book, but it was so fast paced that I felt like I had whiplash! In a totally good way!
Joslyn and Roman stole my heart…….Lord those two had been through so much, experienced so much but they always had each other…….until they didn’t.
After years apart they collide, so much unsaid and done but that connection!….melted my heart and other things! But there are forces trying to bring them down, mess with their minds. This will keep you on the edge of your seat. A truly beautiful story of second chances and a love so pure and strong.
You NEED to read this book!
This book! I don’t even know where to start. Sometimes you think if you have read one Rockstar book, you have read them all, but I am going to tell you this is WRONG! This book, while yes Roman is in a band, this book is more about the paparazzi and trying to live a normal life outside of being the singer. The bonds that are formed between band mates, and family. Second chances are great, we all deserve them. This book is so full of emotion. Kathy did it again, just amazing!
3.5-4 Stars!!!
Kathy Coopmans is giving us a snippet of The Right Direction in the Once Upon A Rock Star Anthology and what a beginning. I was looking forward to getting the whole story.
Roman and Josyln have been best friends since they met in their foster home. What started as a friendship turned lovers. They planned on spending the rest of their lives together.
When Roman’s singing got him a one way ticket to stardom their lives changed. They promised each other that things wouldn’t change. While worrying on the inside. When a secret and then an accident happens and Josyln runs.
They haven’t seen or spoken in years. But, they still keep tabs on the other. Roman is a famous rock star, whose recently divorced. Josyln is a hotshot attorney. But, when somebody has an ax to grind against one of them they do what they know will hurt the most. Attack them both. Now they’re together for the first time in years. If only it was that easy.
This book started off great and I was excited for their story. But, then it changed for me. One of my favorite parts of the books I read is the interaction between the characters. The back and forth banter. I love it when I find myself LOL to their talking, fighting, goofing off you name it. But, this book had nothing. It was mostly them thinking and it drove me crazy. I found myself skimming pages looking for back & forth talking. It made it so hard for me to connect to the characters.
It was also made that they were rock stars. I felt that wasn’t really a big part of the book.Which I was upset about BC I love me some rockstars.
There is another book coming out and I’m usually begging for the next book. But, this time its hard bc I only got a few sentences from everybody. But, the storyline was a good one and there were things I didn’t see coming.
The Right Direction is the first book in the Sweet Sin series by Kathy Coopmans. This is a second chance romance with a few twists mixed in.
Roman and Joslyn were childhood soulmates; they have spent years apart until fate stepped in and their world’s collided, I wouldn’t call Roman’s ex-wife fate but she is something.
I loved these two characters. Joslyn is a tough, strong sassy attorney and Roman Nixon is a dirty talking sexy musician. When Roman and Joslyn get together, they set the pages of fire. Kathy, I love your writing, I know when I get a book from you that it’s going to be a page-turner. I can’t want to read more of this series.
The Right Direction is the first book in the Sweet Sin series and this story is like that song you hear on the radio that grips your heart and soul every time you hear it. This is a second chance romance that will hold you captivated from the very first page and will have you mesmerized by these characters and their history. Their story is one filled with pain, guilt, regret, love and someday. Roman and Joslyn will take you on a trek that will hopefully lead in the right direction of capturing what should have always been theirs. As you get lost in the words of their song you will be hit hard with a crescendo of emotions that these two have repressed during their separation as they discover that sometimes all roads lead to the right place. Their book is emotional, action packed, full of angst and there isn’t an adjective to describe just how hot and steamy this gets. A totally UNFORGETTABLE story that will have you still wrapped up in these characters well after you have read the last page and placed the book back on the shelf.
Kathy Coopmans once again blows you out of the water with her unique storytelling and passionate words. Of course I was all over this one as it a second chance romance and I am a huge sucker for those. What I got was an emotional and raw story with a lot of ups and downs that keeps you on your toes! Roman is oh so alpha in a good way and Joslyn is sassy lady that takes no prisoners but Roman is her weakness. Their connection has been there since childhood and it still smolders when they reconnect.
Overall, this is one emotional ride for these two. There are just the right amount of twists and turns to keep you guessing but also gripping your ereader begging for more. Coopmans has an amazing way of spinning a story that leaves you breathless, and The Right Direction is exactly one of those stories. Run, do not walk to snag up this bad boy!
This was not your average rockstar romance or second chance romance. There are many twist and turns. Their feelings and yours are all over the place. I felt like Roman was just a down to earth guy, not a hot shot rockstar. He was kind, compassionate and all alpha. Josilyn was amazing with her take no crap attitude. You can feel her emotions just below the surface, but her façade was all strong and sure. You will have many surprises, but it is a great story with all the feels
I. LOVED. THIS. BOOK!!!!! I think it is one of my top 10 books of the year (maybe top 5).
This book is a romance with a real and total love between the hero and heroine. It reminded me of a quote that I am REALLY going to blister, but you will get the gist. “If you love something, set it free. If it comes back it is yours, if it does not, it never really was.” This phenomenal book took me on the whole gamut of emotions, from laughter, to tears, to out and out anger. It made me FEEL to extremes!!! To me, this is the requisite to a great book.
Thank you Kathy Coopmans for sharing your fabulous talents with your readers. I also need to thank Molly and the CRC group for leading me to you. Without them, I may not have discovered you. You have become an author that I can count on for a fabulous read.
I was gifted with an ARC of this fabulous, heart yanking book for my honest opinion.
Ms. Coopmans, I LOVED the epilogue, you brought me to tears again when…… Oops, sorry Ladies, no spoilers from me. Ms. Coopmans you wrote the story, so you obviously know what happened at the end… SIGH!
