I’m happy to run my bars and my … happen. I’m happy to run my bars and my land development company.
Sure I am.
And then I meet her—Taryn Ayers—the music manager behind the three biggest bands in the country. She doesn’t know I’m Cam’s older brother. Or that I’ve got a secret that makes her world and mine fundamentally incompatible.

This is the fourth book in this addictive series, and is Taryn and Chase’s story. Taryn is a successful music manger, who had worked hard to leave tragedy behind and move on. Chase is a successful business man who owns several properties and businesses. This is a wonderful story which is intense, heartbreaking, and with complex characters and complicated relationships. I look forward to reading the next book in this wonderful series!
This is my first novel by Jayne Frost and I was Spellbound!
This is not your typical contemporary rock star romance style novel – No Siree!
Here is just a tantalizing taste:
“Paige used to talk about fate. She believed in that $#!+. “Everything happens for a reason,” she’d say. Of course, she didn’t say anything now. Except to me. Don’t get me wrong, I knew it wasn’t her. But when I talked to myself, the voice in my head that answered was hers. Sipping my drink, I stared out the window of the plane into the pitch-dark Texas sky. This is where I felt closet to Paige, in that space between heaven and earth. When you were careening through the air at five hundred miles per hour, defying the laws of nature, anything seemed possible. Even a conversation with your dead best friend. “I signed an all-girl act today, “ I murmured into my next sip of vodka and cranberry. Light bells of laughter that I’d know anywhere echoed in my head, and then that voice. “Not as good as we were.” Paige’s memory always brought up the Austin Dolls, the all-girl group that Tori, Paige, and I formed before Damaged.”
The pace was fluid, with flash backs interwoven to give balance to the current time-frame. The author labeled each chapter with the heading of the character that was telling their story – a very helpful sign-post for this novel. There was emotional angst, deep scars and wounds that needed to be explored, suspense and mystery; that was cross-stitched together with comic relief. Each character possessed specific scars and wounds from their past life that were exponentially expounded upon as the story progressed. The characters were gritty, flawed, and human and each relationship was very authentic and fully-fleshed out.
I found myself getting so caught up in Ms. Taryn Ayers and Mr. Chase Knight’s stories and how they intersect in this novel, that I lost all track of time and space!
