A desperate woman. An alien warrior whose craving knows no bounds. A passion that will change the fate of humanity. In a world where humans have been hunted to near extinction, Rose is captured and on her way to be sold on the lucrative black market. Seizing her only chance, she escapes and finds fate waiting for her in the form of another captive of terrifying strength: a legendary Eok warrior. … strength: a legendary Eok warrior.
Together, Rose and the Eok warrior Karian will fight for their survival – and ultimately for the fate of the entire human race. During that fight, a dangerous attraction is born.
Karian, the unyielding Commander in Chief of the Eok armies, feels his control fading a little more every time he looks at the fragile but headstrong human. Soon, the call to make her his mate torments his body, turning his desires into an imperious craving. She seems to want him, too, but she has no idea of the consequences for her should he claim her.
Will Rose accept him as her bloodmate and seal both their destinies, before everything is lost?

I love this book!
A hastily made decision leads to Karian being captured and caged for 10 years. Rose was captured and being delivered into slavery. Seeing her last possible chance for escape, she takes it. She’s a wild and crazy woman when the chips are down.
A deep, immediate sense of safety, and attraction arises between Rose and Karian. It seems an impossible situation for Karian. Boy, these big strong warrior-types aren’t so good at communication, are they? That alone leads to a fine mess of misunderstanding. Their cultures are so very different, yet he doesn’t bother explaining what these things mean. Great reading!
A book you won’t be able to put down
If you are looking for a hot, steamy romance with plenty of action, moments that bring tears to your eyes, and unending need to see love and blood mates come to an entire set of siblings, this is the book for you. From beginning to end, this book held me captivated. I cheered at every victory and cried at every loss. I especially mourned the loss of Arlen’s mate, not for her sake but for his. I can only hope that the author finds a way for him to be one of the rare few who are able to find his true blood mate after the loss of the imposter. Only time will tell. In the mean time, I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
I quite liked this story, and yet both characters highly annoyed me thru most of it. Rose was full of false bravado that was ridiculous when it was just herself facing outrageous odds. She originally ticked me off by not freeing Karian sooner so that they could escape from the bad guys who were chasing them. Especially after she did end up releasing him anyway. And Karian was just a big dummy for most of the book, not bothering to explain anything to Rose, even things that deeply impacted her, and certainly not sharing his feelings with her. Almost the entire subplot of the book pertaining to their interpersonal problems could have been entirely avoided by some good communication.
The bad guys and the situation stacked against the good guys seem overwhelming and almost depressing, but they do manage to hold their own eventually. Even kick some butt finally near the end, but things are far from resolved in the grand scheme of things. Something that will surely lead to the following stories in the series.
Overall a good sci-fi paranormal romance series-starter. I actually read Book #3 in the series first, so I came at this story a big backwards. It was very good at world-building and stage-setting for future volumes, and I look forward to finishing the series.
This is a new author to me. I enjoyed this story a lot. Rose is such a strong character and Karian, wow can I have an alien like him? There was so much in this story intrigue, romance, and suspense. The world building is phenomenal. I love a story that is entertaining and can take me places and this story did just that. Read thru the KU program.
Venomous Craving is the first book in the Eok Warriors series, and we are introduced to the whole world. Humans have been hunted to near-extinction, and now live in ‘protected facilities’. They are basically breeders, although a small group managed to escape over twenty years ago, and have been surviving since then. However, things are tough for them, and it is at a tough time when Rose is captured. Taken away to be sold as a slave, she constantly worries for the family she had no choice but to leave behind. When she sees her chance for escape, she takes it, but finds herself with another person too.
This was a well thought out, intricate, science fiction romance. There is plenty of action, with political twists and turns, plus personal betrayal. For those wanting sexy times, don’t worry! There is plenty of those, but they don’t detract from the story.
This is only book one, so I am hopeful the questions I still have unanswered will be answered in either the next book, or future books. With no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt my reading flow, plus excellent story and character building, and a whole host of supporting characters I want to hear more about, I have no hesitation in recommending this book. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
