The Wedding Quilt Bride by Marta Perry is the second story in Brides of Lost Creek series. Rebecca Mast has returned home to Lost Creek with her six-year-old son, Elijah. Rebecca lost her husband, James six months ago and sold her farm to her brother-in-law, John. The down payment she received will finance her new home and the remodeling of the front room for her quilt shop. Rebecca hires her childhood friend, Daniel King to carry out her vision. Daniel is happy to have his friend back, but he notices that she is not the same. She is withdrawn, thin, pale and seems haunted. Daniel is hoping that over time Rebecca will trust him and confide in him. While working on the shop with Rebecca, Daniel begins to fall in love with his friend. But then Rebecca receives a letter that could derail her plans for the shop. Rebecca is determined to stand on her own two feet. Can Daniel get Rebecca to accept his help and that of her community? Will Rebecca be able to overcome the past?
The Wedding Quilt Bride is well-written and an engaging novel. I was drawn into the story and it held my attention. There are beautiful descriptions of quilts in the story. Ms. Perry brought the quilts alive with her words. The story is told from Rebecca and Daniel’s perspectives. While Rebecca is trying to overcome her past, Daniel is dealing with guilt. His brother, Aaron “jumped the fence” is Daniel feels responsible for him leaving the Amish. There are great characters in the story. They are warm and welcoming. Rebecca has a loving and supportive family. The Wedding Quilt Bride is a complex story with unexpected surprises. There are several themes in the story, but my favorite is everyone deserves a second chance. We are far from perfect, and we will inevitably make mistakes. We need to trust in God and let Him guide us. I like that the author portrays life realistically. Life is full of hills and valleys. There are good people and there are those who will try to take advantage of you. While The Wedding Quilt Bride is the second novel in Brides of Lost Creek series, it stands on its own (I look forward to reading the first book when I have an opportunity). The Wedding Quilt Bride is a heartwarming story that will hold you captive until you finish the last word.
Rebecca Mask was back home again with her 6 year old son, Elijah. She became a widow when her husband James Mask lost his life in an accident. Rebecca may have returned home to be with her family but she was no longer the same person Daniel had known in his growing up years.
Daniel King wanted to help Rebecca and Elijah get settled into their new home but she was very independent and wanted to stand on her own feet. Growing up Rebecca and Daniel had been best of friends but now he didn’t know this new person she had become in her years away from home. Daniel himself had changed too. His brother Aaron had jumped the fence and Daniel felt he had somehow let him down. He had shut himself off from others because he felt incapable of helping anyone .
What happened to Rebecca during her years away from her family, to cause this change in her personality? Why was little Elijah so drawn into himself and afraid of strangers. Cringing when anyone spoke loudly. Had James Mask been a abusive husband and father? Will Daniel , Rebecca and Elijah be able to move on from their past hurts to trust others enough to let them have a place in their lives? Can Daniel and Rebecca rekindle their friendship from the past?
I loved the cover of this book. I admit This reader usually is pulled towards a book if it has a nice cover. The story between the covers did not disappoint . This is not the first book I’ve read by Marta Perry and I’m familiar with her writing style. The story was about how a family and community welcomed one of their own back home again. Patiently they let Rebecca heal at her own pace. They were always there for her when she needed a helping hand even though she didn’t always welcome the help. Even Daniel , hurting as he was, reached out to her whether she wanted his help or not.
I won an Arc copy of The Wedding Quilt Bride from a giveaway the author gave. I was not asked to give a positive review and I have been honest with how I felt about the book. Readers of Amish Fiction and fans of Marta Perry will enjoy this book. I highly recommend it.
This sweet book had everything I wish for in an Amish romance. A comforting sense of community, strong family loyalty, and a blossoming love from a childhood friendship. I loved how Rebecca and Daniel warmed up to each other quickly even though they had both changed as time had passed. They brought out the best in each other and Daniel helped Rebecca remember what the support of loving friends and family looked like. She struggled with accepting the unconditional help, but as she began to slowly open up to those she trusted, she was able to let go of her past and see that she is not alone. The chemistry between Rebecca and Daniel is great and it was fun to see them move from friends to more. Reading this book gave me a warm feeling and I recommend it to fans of Amish fiction!

The Wedding Quilt Bride is book two in Brides of Lost Creek series by Marta Perry. This book is a Love Inspired Romance book. The Wedding Quilt Bride is such a wonderful read. I love the faith, love, devotion, commitment in this story. Will Rebecca Mast give in and allow others to help her? Marta has done an excellent job with this story and the topic that many of us deal with.
Could not put this book down….Marta Perry has characters that you can always relate to in very relatable situations.
The Wedding Quilt Bride Is such a warm tale. One I’m independence, loss, gain, triumph, love and the love and trust in GOD. You have a very special mom of a six-year-old who moves back to her community after the loss of her husband. When she gets there guess who is their loving that she is back? Yes her family but someone else – who you ask well I shall not ruin it for you but disappointment sets in When they see she has changed. Will she let others back into her life or will she stay the same and eventually alone – a single mom? Will she let GOD move in her life? Will she trust HIM to work on her? You have to see all this for yourself. I received a copy of this book from the Publisher and Netgalley; all of the opinions expressed in this review are all my own.

Can two people who have been hurt by life and their beliefs come together as more than friends?
The author has given us a glimpse into Amish life from a different angle, as we journey through the hurts and upsets that have been heaped on them by life and the actions of others.
We are given a new beginning for a mother and her young son, and we get to see the building of a quilt shop, which if it were near me I would be using, and we see the giving spirit of an old friend.
Can even the young child overcome all that has happened, and move on with a fruitful life? We get to watch this through the words of the author, and you will be quickly turning the pages to get to the outcome.
I received this book through the Publisher Harlequin, and was not required to give a positive review.
The Wedding Quilt Bride was a sweet tale of learning to trust again and learning to love again. I so enjoyed watching as Rebecca and Daniel grew to be friends again and eventually more. It wasn’t an easy journey for either of them. They both carried guilt and were weighed down with doubts.
There were a lot of interesting characters in this story, and although this was book two in a series, it stood alone just fine. Now I want to go back and read the first book in the series and learn more about the two main characters in that book! The Wedding Quilt Bride tackled some tough issues, yet managed to remain an uplifting story.

The Wedding Quilt Bride by Marta Perry
My review is 4.5 Stars
While I often equate the Amish with a close-knit community and families that stand up for one another, I don’t believe I have read another Amish book that highlights this as much or as well as The Wedding Quilt Bride. Author Marta Perry has done such a beautiful job of showing how families can work together to support and care for one another in this lovely book.
I was so touched by the kind way Daniel treated Lige, Rebecca’s son. (His full name is Elijah, so I imagine the nickname is pronounced like that.) While he was amazing with children in general, the scene when they first met and he worked so hard, yet so naturally, to draw a smile from the young boy also brought a smile to my face. His strong sense of responsibility and protectiveness towards those he loves made him quite endearing.
Rebecca had such a hard time allowing herself to rely on others or to allow them to help after the pain she endured in her marriage, including the way her in-laws responded to her needs. The response of her own family and the community to her was so beautiful. I loved seeing them help her set up her shop. And then on the day the quilt shop opened, not only showing up but buying things they didn’t necessarily need.
This story stands on its own, and yet had hints of a new story to come. I do hope that the next book will be about Daniel’s little brother. I would love to know how his story ends.
