The cage door closes on Emma Bryant’s freedom after she is arrested for a brutal murder that she did not commit. The tough-talking lioness knows the penalty she faces is death. Can she repel all of the lies in order to survive? Scott Frazier is always the joker. Beneath the golden lion’s mane is hidden a secret that just might save the woman he’s known to be his future mate since the first time … first time he saw her. The blood of kings runs through him. Will he make the ultimate sacrifice to save the one he loves?
Fighting the Lies is the sequel to The Touch of Snow; the paranormal romance that had non-readers converting to the genre. It continues the story of the Glacial Blood pack as they strive to save a member from the horrific position she finds herself in. But the story isn’t that simple, not when Nuka Lincoln is around, and an impending storm threatens the world as they know it. The Glacial Blood world is full of intrigue, suspense and kick arse fights. It also features a secret that should remain untold.
A family isn’t always blood; it’s the people in your life that accept you for what you are.

It’s always fun to see what an authors take on shifters. This author takes an interesting approach at her shifters actually having the characteristics of the animal counterparts. In this case the lion shifter is lazy and it’s just an oh well that’s how he is. Along with this though he is a powerful fighter and that’s been his way of keeping close to Emma. Now I have to say I did have a problem with Scott and his ways especially after he professes his love. But you also have to take into consideration Emma chose to keep distance between them and made it clear she had her reasons. There is an ongoing battle between family which causes lots of problem for this clan. And while Scott is ready to do stupid things for the love he has for Emma it may not work out as he planned. I look forward to more of this pack and the things in their lives that brought them to it.
Emma is arrested for a crime she couldn’t and wouldn’t commit but no one but her pack believes her. Scott will do anything he can to save her, even barter his own life. Love these characters so much and they feel like my extended family, can’t wait to see what comes next for this pack of characters.
Ever have to set down a book
Step back for a moment just so you can catch a breath,
Reduce your blood pressure and the anxiety threatening to choke you?
This was that for me
I couldn’t figure any way out of the nightmare Emma was trapped in
Ughhhh I hate that hopeless feeling
Scott kills me
He is such a fluffy lovable immovable piece of furniture
I am not going to recap the story – it’s in the blurb
This is the second in series so if you are here and you haven’t been there – you need to go back to the beginning
Otherwise, you miss all the subtle innuendos, the true depth of evil our villains are capable of and the love and bond of the family Our little pack of misfits shares
Fighting the Lies is the second book in the Glacial blood Series and Emma and Scott’s story. I highly recommend that you read this series in order starting with book 1 – Touch of Snow, Serene and Brayden’s story. FtW is an entertaining shifter story that is action packed with wonderful characters and great storyline. It’s the perfect continuation of the series and an absolute page-turner.
Emma is accused of murder and her pack will stop at nothing to prove her innocence but when she is found guilty and sentenced. Scott tries to save her but his plan doesn’t work as he’d hoped and she is faced with something that she deems worse than the sentencing she had originally received from the Council.
Kas, her pack’s Alpha will not let her down. He isn’t stopping until he and the rest of his pack brings the lioness home where she belongs.
Oh my yes please I need more
This book just about destroyed me. Absolutely on the edge suspense and Anna Edwards used her superior writing skills to elicit almost every emotion possible from me. Each time I thought I knew what would happen I was completely wrong.
There is so much to this than just a typical paranormal romance story. The author adds depth to every character and scene. I really felt like I could walk right into the pages and even though it’s paranormal that world building development was so adept it seemed completely realistic.
I loved every single moment, even the ones I wasn’t sure I would somehow live through. Each word made me fall deeper in love with the Glacial Blood pack. Highly recommend!
A very enjoyable read. I can’t wait to read Tyler’s story. I just wish we could put down Nuka and his beta.
*Spoiler FREE*
I absolutely adored the first book in the series Touch Of Snow and have been eagerly awaiting this book for a while. Emma and Scott were a great couple to read about. I loved Emma’s strength and independence and refusal to back down and Scott was fun, powerful and lazy to boot!
This had some great twists and we saw lots of the previous book’s characters, such as our favourite evil twin Nuka. Who I must say is a bigger bastard than I initially thought but a rather fabulous bad guy to read about, you never know what nastily clever scheme he’s going to cook up next.
There were parts of this that had me laughing, muttering crossly, fanning myself and nearly tearful at times. A great read that I couldnt put down, and I’m looking forward to more releases in this series!

Fighting the Lies (Glacial Blood, #2) by Anna Edwards a very good read and an excellent addition to this series. I love this series! It has everything you could ask for. Sexy shifters, drama, passion, love,
twists, surprises, steam and great storytelling. This book features Emma and Scott’s story. Intense, emotional and suspenseful you are engaged very quickly and then must roll with the punches as you read through as quickly as possible to see what happens next. A wonderful read that I recommend to all. I am posting an honest review after reading an ARC copy of this book.
I’m so freaking in love with the Glacial Blood pack!!! This is book two, Scott and Emma’s story, and I think I enjoyed this book more than The Touch of Snow, book one (which was great!). I say this because in this book, I was already connected to the characters and knew about the Glacial Blood pack and what their history was so I was already drawn in. I like how Anna Edwards writes each book to where you finish with one couple, getting their HEA, and then she leaves you with a cliffhanger to draw you in to the next couple’s book. It keeps the series interesting and exciting without making you feel that it’s going to be drawn out. Scott and Emma are perfect for each other. I love both of these characters and how she’s fierce and strong and how he has this blasé attitude about him- until it comes to her. The plot of this book is extremely interesting with twists you don’t see coming. It’s a definite page-turner! Plus- the Glacial Blood series is not your typical paranormal shifter series. Definitely recommend!
Awesome kickass paranormal romance;
Wow…I have got to get me one of those magnificent shape shifting men…so sexy and oozing alpha maleness… Brayden is the lead assassin for the Glacial Blood Pack when visiting his mother he meets Selene a waitress who is smart, gifted and has no recollection of her past….as their relationship develops it becomes clearer that their destinies are entwined and that their meeting was not just a matter of fate… this is an exciting suspenseful story of betrayal, divided loyalties, family rivalries, secrets, and love in all it’s forms with Brayden and Selene in the centre of proceedings..
The premise for the plot is so original….I loved the alternate universe created by the author; the world was fully described with background detail in place which made it feel authentic….it was interesting to watch the characters develop through the pages of the book… I fell in love with the Glacial Blood pack of shape shifters with their tight bonds of family, friendship, loyalty and camaraderie… Kas and Jessica are secondary characters in this book but I can’t wait to read more about them in the future…
This is an awesome kickass paranormal romance; fast paced and full of action not to mention some steamy moments between Brayden and Selene that are off the scale hot and downright dirty.….this is such a great start to the series and thankfully there is the potential for plenty more to come…I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review
Fighting the Lies is the 2nd book in the Glacial Blood series by Anna Edwards.. I loved this just as much, if not more than The Touch of Snow.. Both great books – I highly recommend them..
I’ve been drawn back into the shifter world and I never want to leave..
Fighting the Lies follows on from The Touch of Snow..
Emma Bryant, a lioness shifter has been arrested and accused of a murder that she did not commit. The problem is, the evidence that is stacked against her says otherwise – the punishment for murder is death. Kas – Glacial Blood’s alpha and the rest of the pack have two days to find anything that will prove Emma’s innocence before her punishment is dealt.
Scott Frazier, a lion shifter – can’t stand by and watch the woman he loves, the woman he wants as his mate be killed for something she hasn’t done. There is one thing that he can do in exchange for her freedom but that means exposing who he really is. Would you trust a shifty polar bear that has already tried to destroy your family?
What follows is a fight to prove the innocence of one of their own. Two packs fighting for the truth. Twists that you don’t see coming. Some twists that you want to happen.
Would you fight the lies to save your family? I know I would
Love this sequel to The Touch Of Snow. Emma and Scott are perfect together and their chemistry is on fire! This book has it all drama, mystery, suspense, love and sexy passionate shifters. This is a well written, entertaining read with amazing characters and story twists that will keep you turning the pages. I can’t wait to read the next book by Anna Edwards! Another 5-star must read!
