I just finished reading Wrapped Around My Heart and it’s such a sweet, sexy, holiday romance that I am tempted to read it all over again! It begins in L.A. with Jess a personal assistant to a gorgeous workaholic boss named Mark. Jess has had a crush on her boss since day one but is too professional to do anything about it. Little does she know that her boss has the same feelings. Now there is a big business deal about to take place in Aspen right before Christmas and Mark wants Jess to accompany him on the trip. She has already planned her vacation home to Colorado and doesn’t want to disappoint him or her family so she plans everything out. Mark has no Christmas spirit and doesn’t really understand Jess’ love of the holidays but he does believe in her ability to get the trip organized. The only problem is the weather doesn’t cooperate and these two are left to get to really know each other during a Colorado snowstorm. It’s a fun story and Jess has a great family including a prickly sister and an adorable nephew that will give Mark an insight into a family Christmas. I recommend this to any reader that enjoys a holiday romance that is sweet, spicy and and full of Christmas joy. It is written in dual POV and is perfect for all romance lovers. I received a review copy of Wrapped Around My Heart and this was my freely given, honest opinion.
We have an office romance; Christmas holiday, and, a sweet little boy named Ben. The romance escalates as Jess and Mark are stranded in a storm and then it is meeting family and new traditions. The story is full of joy, good-feelings and love
This is a fun Christmas romance where Jess helps her boss Mark find the true meaning of Christmas that he has missed out on his whole life. Along the way they also manage to admit to the feeling they have had for each other since day one. Lots of love, family and Christmas cheer.
I wanted to like this book more but I thought Mark was a little over the top aggressive in his pursuit of Jess. Particularly at her parents house. The scene with Jess’ sister Bethany could have been played differently with the same outcome for the characters. It was a cute story, but The Trouble with Tinsel is my favorite in this author’s Christmas line.
I really enjoyed reading this holiday romance! It’s full of drama, humor, heart and great characters. This is a sweet romance about Mark Cantwell and his administrative assistant Jess Stone stranded in a snowstorm together on a business trip. I loved the chemistry between these two and how her family acted around Mark while having a family Christmas. This is definitely a must read if you are looking for a fun, sweet, emotional Christmas story!
You know the saying ‘If something can go wrong, it will’? It definitely applies to this story. What should have been a simple business trip turns into a series of mishaps that end up having a silver lining.
Mark and Jess are each very capable at their job–largely due to the fact they complement each other so well. Their different weaknesses and strengths allow them to be so much more together. Turns out, the same is true in their personal life. It just took them longer to figure that out.
I loved the warmth of Jess’ parents and nephew(who was adorable.) I loved when Mark put Bethany in her place. It was perfect. I was thrilled to see Jess finally stand-up to Bethany and not hold anything back. Family dynamics can be so complicated and honest communication is always the best way to deal with problems.
As usual, Kelly Collins has written a fabulous story. She never disappoints. I strongly urge you to read Wrapped Around My Heart if you like heart-warming stories with a touch of humor.
Favorite Quotes:
Bethany had had a nanny since the day she brought Ben home four years ago. She traded in au pairs like other people did cars on a short-term lease.
When I turned away, I saw the women around us looking at him like they were the warm chocolate in a fondue pot, and he was the dipping fruit.
She gave you that come-hither, I-want-to-bang-you-in-the-bathroom look. How could you not notice? She practically stirred your orange juice with her nipple.
Well, I’m close to my parents. As for my sister … how close would you want to come to a rabid dog?
I looked for a gift for your sister, but they didn’t have a muzzle or a tranquilizer gun.
Just remember that men are inferior species. Knowing that makes me feel better.
My Review:
Kelly Collin’s clever sense of humor was front and center in this delightfully amusing and engaging tale. Her characters were adorable, the storyline was sexy and sweet, and I smirked and sighed with satisfaction as I made my way through this early Christmas present. It was a fun, pleasant, and light read guaranteed to lift your mood and put a smile on your face.
