This is the newest in the Blue Hollow series, and is Seth Brogan’s story. When superstar folk singer Pippa MacMillan comes to stay in Blue Hollow to recouperate from throat surgery, she literally drops in at Seth’s vineyard as part of a house-swap with his youngest sister. She quickly works her way into the hearts and lives of the other Hollow residents, especially Seth. Many of the secondary characters — Mabry, Bailey, Jake and Will, Sawyer — we’d met previously, and although they’re only peripherally involved, they are critical to the series.
There’s a novella coming out for Christmas, and another book in the series next year. Can’t wait!
Oh, I was so looking forward to Seth’s book…and Bluestone & Vine was picture-perfect right from the start. With off-the-charts chemistry, a couple you can’t help but root for, and a super sweet, sexy romance, Bluestone & Vine has everything I want in a love story.
I absolutely loved every bit of this story and did not want to put it down. There were so many wonderful emotions. The author wrote an amazing story with the right amount of conflict and angst to have you devouring it in a day. And the setting of Blue Hollow Falls just warms my heart.
Donna doesn’t disappoint!
I admit to being a big fan of Kauffman’s, so my expectations for this book–the second in the Blue Hollow Falls trilogy–were high. As always, her characters are down to earth and relatable, to the point where you miss ’em when the last page has been turned. Blue Hollow Falls is so well drawn that you almost believe you will find it along Skyline Drive; it is easy to imagine these folks against this backdrop.
In BlueStone & Vine, our hero, Seth, is a strong, self-contained Special Forces veteran with a surprising soft spot for a quirky, Disney loving llama. Seth has set down roots in the close-knit Blue Hollow Falls community, both for himself and his fledgling vineyard. Enter Pippa, a lovely Irish lass looking for a peaceful respite from celebrity. I’m sure it’s no surprise that sparks fly, conflict arises, resolves and the ‘happily ever after’ follows soon enough. (This IS a romance, after all!) Along the way, I enjoyed the ride and liked getting to know these two.
This novel stands alone, but you’ll thank yourself for picking up the other book in the series, too.
Bluestone and Vine is the second Blue Hollow Falls book by Donna Kauffman, and I love how the story just keeps giving.
Seth Brogan is tending to his animals and getting his vines ready for spring when his sister tells him that she’s swapped houses with someone from Ireland, except she swapped his house for the singer to stay while she recovers from over use of her voice. The first meeting between Pippa and Brogan sparks fly even in the cold, snowy weather.
You’ll enjoy this book as much or more than the first. I know I did!
Loved this book! It was so wonderful to go back to the magical town of Blue Hollow Falls. A place where people care for each other and neighbors look out for each one another. Seth Brogan needed this place and this vineyard when he left the special forces. Now the town needs him just as much since he’s become such an important part of the community. He’s surprised to find out that his sister has agreed to a house swap with a woman from Ireland. Even more surprised to find out the house she swapped was his! So now he has a house guest he never expected and isn’t sure how to handle or what to think of. Pippa MacMillan is an Irish folksinger that has lost her voice. Physically she has healed but her mind won’t let her relax and enjoy singing again. Could Seth possibly be her calm?
This is one for the must read list. I highly recommend it.
I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED Bluestone & Vine by Donna Kaufman, the second book in her Blue Hollow Falls series and I really struggled to put it down. This is a story of two loss souls who are starting over again, hoping they are on the right path toward their futures.
A former Special Forces soldier, Seth works on his renovated stone barn and beautiful hillside into a vineyard. Pippa MacMillan, a super star on the Irish folk music scene, voice requires a time-out, leaving her wondering how and where she can find happiness in the silence. As she looks for answers, Pippa leaves Ireland in a house swap with Seth’s sister, ending up in a small town in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. The lovely Blue Hollow Falls is the perfect place to heal and the solitary Seth is the perfect host. Small-town living in Virginia is not much different than that of Ireland and Pippa does feel at home among the residents of Blue Hollow Falls. As Seth and Pippa spend time together, they are surprised by their feelings as they begin to fall for each other. The only problem is when Pippa starts hearing the music once again, will she return to Ireland, or surrender to the call of her heart?
Seth is my new book boyfriend and I wish I was as talented as Pippa in creating the music she hears in her head. These two quiet souls were the perfect match despite their size difference; Seth was 6’6”, think Viking Thor, while Pippa was barely 5’2”, an Irish fairy. These two are good people, caring for those around them and supportive of the town and its residents. I enjoyed revisiting the characters from earlier stories and especially loved the name of Seth’s wine, Bluestone and Vine Llamarama Label, with a picture of his llama as part of the label.
I highly recommend this outstanding book to other readers. It was difficult for me to put this book down. Ms. Kaufman is a wonderful story teller drawing me into her books, making me forget the world around me. I could visualize beauty of this place through her descriptive words. I highly recommend this book to other readers and look forward to the next book in this series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
I loved this book!! I love this series! Donna Kauffman is a master of descriptive words, you feel like you’re right there with her characters! The small community has a history that pulls you in. I read this book, for the most part, on one sitting. I wanted to see how she crafted their happy ever after. Thanks Donna!
Wow! What a sweet and emotional story. Loved the development of Seth’s and Pippa’s relationship. The chemistry was there from the beginning but they tried to deny it and decided to focus on their camaraderie. It was really sweet how comfortable they were with one another from the start. They were just so cute together. This story really had me feeling all the feels. Loved it so much.
Didn’t love this one. I am not a big fan of pushy people who think that they can do what ever they want because they are all that. Certaibly not any self respecting adult. Moria was a spoiled brat and at 26 not appealing. What kind of sister or anyone dumps someone on their brother by whining and thinks it is okay. Certainly no adult I know or would want to. Pippa just hops on a private plane and flies to another continent and shows up on someones door “Here I am and you’ll love me because I am fabulous “. Nope. Don’t like it when anyone acts like that so not a female thing. She is just awful. Manipulative, seriously obnoxious and a user. Not my kind of character. So nope, not for me. He should have kicked her out back in to the snow. Couldn’t get beyond all of the nonsense. Also found the narration very grating.
I enjoyed the story and love the characters. I’ve already started looking for more books by this author.
