I am loving this book. When they started talking about the Exalls, I remembered his book The Poisoned Mind. And the events that happened in that book, actually was happening in the middle towards the end of this book here.
Going into the book I wasn’t sure where it was leading, due to the different narratives, but it all came together. I really admire Susan and the life she made for her family. Throughout the book, i was feeling bad for Brian, and Susan’s family. The way the Exalls just came down for holy hell, and pure merciless killing was written really well. I liked the descriptions of the characters, as it really had me picturing them like a movie in my head as I was reading.
I can Kyle picking up where his Grandma Susan left off, and with what he knows and how he kept a clear head, I look forward to another book.
The story started fairly tame, that is to say for the first several pages, but right away the author give you a feeling that something else is really going on. I enjoyed the supernatural twist, it added a certain amount tension to the story so you really did not know what was going to happen. I will get other books by this author.
This was supposedly Andre Gonzalez’s debut novel but this flows like a Stephen King or a Dean Koontz; and at their most terrifying! If you love horror or thrillers or enough suspense to take your breath away, then I’d highly recommend Followed Home! It scared me and made me think; this COULD really happen! They say ‘aliens walk among us’, well after reading this you ask yourself; are they out there now?!
This book grabs your interest from the beginning and keeps you enthralled. Exalls have come to Earth to learn our ways, but start killing. Susan is on a top secret team that keeps track of the Exalls. The Exalls can take over one’s body by transfusion blood. This novel has a lot of action and terror. Highly recommended reading.
With a title like Followed Home, I expected bad, but nothing like what happened. It was so weird I couldn’t turn pages fast enough to figure out who or what was happening. Definitely a great read for thriller fans.
Author, Andre Gonzalez was masterful with his creation of Erased and The Insanity Trilogy, now he’s done it again with this book.
They Did Follow Us Home
(Disclaimer: I was provided a copy of the Audiobook and decided to provide my honest review.) Followed Home by Andre Gonzalez is an enthralling masterpiece both in content and its delivery method. First let me address delivery method. I was always audio adverse believing the only way to read a book was to sit down and actually read the book. I was proved irrefutably incorrect. I found there is a convenience to actually using the audio delivery system to read the book such as when I was driving or grocery shopping. If I thought I needed to understand a piece of the story again, just rewind. I can’t say if I will go out an order all my books this way, but if there was a really good sale I now would consider purchasing an audible. Did I say that? Who knew? The content was nothing else but enthralling, commanding, suspenseful, thrilling from beginning to end, page-turning demanding and enveloping. The story pulls you in so you are there, not a bystander looking in, but feeling ups and downs and the nerves just like the characters. I would had a dialogue with myself that in many ways echoed my reactions to the story. I applaud the author for his world and character building, the width, depth and breadth of the storyline and the overall ability to bring everything together to make Followed Home a brilliant read. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND reading Followed Home by Andre Gonzalez, conventionally or audibly. –Tex.
