As acting director of her uncle’s retirement village, Lilith Montgomery must hire a chef for the new restaurant. She’s interviewed several candidates, but instantly decides on the sexy Irishman whose culinary creations give her foodgasms. Her rotten luck with relationships makes her determined to resist her attraction to him, even if it means sneaking into the kitchen at night for a taste of his … his delectable entrées.
Flynn Hastings is finally getting his life back on track after a year of anger and guilt over his sister’s death. He’s returned home to be near his family and has found the perfect job—with one small problem. His boss makes him want to cook in more than the kitchen. This is the first book of the second series I’ve read by this author and it did not disappoint. I loved the plot, loved the characters.
As I’ve come to expect, she’s lead me through the emotions. I’m normally not a huge fan of contemporary but this author excels at it. She also made such delicious sounding food in scenes that I actually was salivating/ hungry.
I can’t wait to read the rest of this series.
I loved everything about this book, it was a fun romantic read with everything that I love in a romance. I think that it is a good read that I recommend.
What a great romance! Not only did I love Lilith and Flynn but the secondary one’s stole my heart as well. You can tell how much thought the author put into these secondary characters and their relationships as well. I laughed way more than I usually do with romance novels but it was balanced by the extremely steamy moments. Im hoping to read more from about these characters if not more in general from this author.
A sizzling fun romance! It was spicy and sweet. I enjoyed the overall story and all the yummy food described made me hungry lol
Romance and food make for a fun and sexy story. While Lilith’s and Flynn’s taboo relationship as coworkers develops we are given insight to the tragedies each has suffered, thus complicating their “love story”. I loved this aspect of the story, however, I felt it got lost with the ridiculous food orgasms. The slow burn was killing me especially since Lilith was hot one minute and cold the next, although we do eventually understand her behavior. I loved the elderly residents of Montgomery Crossing and Uncle Wade, their outspoken and outlandish comments added lightheartedness and often had me laughing out loud. All in all a good read worth putting on your menu of books.
Lilith is covering for her uncle as manager of his retirement home and needs a new chef. After interviewing several, she finally finds him. Flynn is pulling his life together after mourning his sister and meets Lily. Mixing business and pleasure hasn’t sounded so tasty before.
This is a great book had a bit of everything. Tragedy good characters steamy moments and lots of laughs. Going to read the next one soon
“I’m in love with Flynn and Lilith’s story. They had me laughing from their very first encounter. I never thought food could be so burning hot LOL. Forbidden romance, boss/employee that happened to be neighbors too. It was a disaster waiting to happened and I was ready for all. The attraction and the tension was insane but the chemistry was explosive!!! Though the slow burn was killing me… they needed to get rid off the s*xual tension but also it was beautiful how they were working together to make something special. The promise at the ending was so romantic. Great story!”
What a good story. You laugh, You cry, You get frustrated but most of all you get a great story. Lily has had so many heart breaks in her life. Her parents dead when she was 12. The residents at the retirement village. Loss is hard on your heart. And this author wrote Lilys hurt so well. Flynn has had his heart hurt as well with his sister’s sickness his from him then her death. These two have grief to deal with before love can be felt with. Their story flowed so well. It did midday on and on. You felt what they were feeling. I really enjoyed this book.
I loved this book, Lilith and Flynn meet when she needs a chef for the retirement community she helps run. Flynn is the chef she hires for it. There is a connection the moment they meet but Lilith has never had luck with men and is also scared of losing somebody she cares for because of it happening before in her life. Flynn lost sister and has come home after a year of struggling with it. I loved the story, it reminds me of the fable , turtle and the hare, Slow and Steady Wins The Race. Flynn learns that getting Lilith to trust him is like that, don’t hurry or force her. Plus I love the idea of a Food gasmen . If you have have no idea what that is or curious what it brings to the story, then read this book. But no matter what , this is a must read book. Your going to love it
Funny, romantic, steamy, suspenseful. Loved this book
