Martha Bright is a feisty, stubborn, single mother who has just landed herself a job. While becoming housekeeper for the new owner of the ‘Big House’ in the Cheshire village where she lives, isn’t her dream job, it will do for now. However, there is one major problem with it. Her boss isn’t the woman who interviewed her, but Luke Mahoney, lead singer of the band Dirty Riches. The man who Martha … Martha lusted after years before, when they went to school together, and the man who is so hot that it petrifies her.
Luke is arrogant and sexy and finds it highly amusing that his flirting embarrasses Martha, but at the same time he’s intrigued by her. She’s feisty, stubborn and gorgeous and Luke finds himself wanting to spend more and more time with her. So, despite a shaky start involving a naked Luke and a mortified Martha, they start to grow closer and their friendship starts to develop into something more. But then everything changes with the arrival of Luke’s gorgeous model girlfriend, Rachel. Luke’s sudden change in attitude towards Martha, hurts her and she realises that he’s just a typical egotistical, rock star and will never be anything more than her boss.
Pretty soon though, with the help of his bandmates, Luke realises that Martha is the right woman for him and sets about repairing their relationship. But, with Luke keeping a huge secret and Rachel determined to hold onto him, will he ever manage to prove to Martha that he’s the right man for her. If he does, will he be able to keep the woman he actually loves or will Rachel get her way?

I read the whole Rock Stars Don’t Like series in 3 days and really enjoyed each book. Each book stands out on it own and I wish there were more because I wasn’t ready to say goodbye yet
Rock Stars Don’t Like Big Knickers (Book 1) – This is Martha and Luke’s story. I liked how the characters were older and that Martha wasn’t afraid to speak up for herself. Luke wasn’t always the greatest and made some very dumb choices, but I never doubted his feelings for Martha. There were times when I had to remind myself that some of the characters weren’t in their mid 20s, but I think that’s because most rock star romances tend to use that age range rather than older like Nikki Ashton has used. This book was a little different to your ‘typical’ rock star romances and focused more on what happens after the band has lived all the crazy stuff and have achieved what they want to achieve
Rock Stars Don’t Like Ugly Bras (Book 2) – This is Amber and Jake’s story. Amber is a new character who we didn’t meet in the first book, but she doesn’t appear out of place and it’s as though she was there all along. As with the first, the lead guy makes dumb decisions and the lead female is left dealing with the pain this causes, but everything eventually comes together and we get a happy ending. I enjoyed the spark between this couple and how Amber pulls him up when needed, but is also there to listen as he opens up about his difficult childhood. Jake also supports Amber as she heals from the past and learns to trust again. This couple are perfect for each other.
Rock Stars Do Like Christmas Stockings (Book 3) – This is Tom and Abbie’s story. I was so excited for this one as Tom is my favourite guy from the band. I love his personality and how he’s always there to defuse a situation. We get to see that whilst he may look confident and cocky on the outside, he has an unexpected phobia whilst also worrying about what he stands to lose once he confesses his true feelings for Abbie. Mixed in is a last minute Christmas party whilst also seeing how the other band members are doing. My only complaint is that it wasn’t long enough lol
Rock Stars Don’t Like Sparkly Thongs (Book 4) – This is the final book and is kind of like a collection of very short stories about the band’s past whilst also showing us what’s happening in the present. It wraps up the series beautifully and whilst this may seem strange, it was my favourite because it shows that no matter what happens, things come together like they’re supposed to and the bad always comes with the good. This one definitely had me snorting with laughter and I would’ve happily read a full length version with more funny stories because it shows how the band came to be the band they are today and that everything they went through made them stronger
Overall, this is a great series. I would recommend reading the books in order even though each one could be enjoyed as a standalone. Each couple’s story is well planned out and gives something different whilst also ensuring the band’s feeling of being one big family isn’t lost. I enjoyed the endless love and support they have for each other. And I love how each member finding a partner adds to the band rather than separating them
I absolutely loved this book! The sense of humour throughout was terrific, from the fun banter between characters to the hilarious scenes that make you laugh out loud, it was a delight to read. This author is like a breath of fresh air!
Luke was an arrogant rock star, yes, but there’s so much more to him and I really liked him. Okay, I admit, I wanted to give him a kick in the behind occasionally but I still loved his character. Martha was the perfect match for him and I immediately liked her. She had such great values and had done it tough but she’d still come out on top.
For balance there was of course the resident ‘evil’ character and she was portrayed brilliantly. There were some serious elements as well that were explored briefly and woven into the story carefully with a smoothness that was admirable.
For a romantic comedy that you will find hard to put down you can’t go past this book. I look forward to reading the other books in the series.
Why have I waited to read this.
I had this book and author recommended to me by a friend who told me to read it ages ago. I wish I had listened and read her sooner. This book was brilliant I luv a good rockstar book and this had everything in it. There was drama, laughs and tears throughout this whole book. The story flowed so well I just couldn’t put it down once I started it. Im dying to read more from The Dirty Riches guys.
Luke is your typical rockstar luvs women and the lifestyle. But once he sees his new housekeeper he couldn’t keep his eyes off her. Was she a challenge yes but after they started getting to know each other things started to change. Luke is dealing with some issues and can be a bit lets say testing at times. So dealing with him wasnt easy but when you got him being the dreamy guy he was just perfect and this is the guy Martha fell for. But could she fall for a guy like Luke a rockstar and her boss.
Martha what can I say about this woman I luvd her straight away she has dealt with some hard time but she is still such a strong independent woman. Martha is a young mum and had Betty at 16 and Betty has been her life since but know its time for Martha to try and get a bit of her life back. That starts by trying to stay away from her boss and high school crush who happens to be a rockstar now Luke Mahoney.
The connection between Luke and Martha was hot from the start but like I said the more they got to know each other the strong there connection was. Things weren’t easy for they with Luke dealing with stuff and Martha trying to keep her distance then throw in an ex who wants to make life hard for both of them and is just a pain in the butt. But when you want something and its meant to be you have to fight.
I would highly recommend this book I really luvd it.
A nice easy read.
I enjoyed the characters and the story. I am now reading book 2 in the series.
