What isn’t there to love about this book? Alyne Hart never disappoints. The story is so real and raw, the writing so well done that you feel every emotion the characters feel. You root for Jax and Autumn from the very beginning…even though Jax takes some time to love. But you fall hard for him and their love story. It’s not black and white – which is what makes it so good. It’s real and complicated. Alyne has mastered the art of writing a complex, emotional story that will keep you on your toes. I loved how cute this story was and I cannot recommend it enough
Audiobook version:
Let me start by saying I thoroughly enjoyed this book. it had great characters that I could find myself rooting for. I thought the story was endearing. You could feel the love buried beneath the years of pain and anger. I felt for them as I could see they were meant for each other however life sometimes just doesn’t line up right. They had to endure a lot and decide what was really important to them. I felt like Alyne was playing tug of war with my emotions however I am happier for it. Great job! I loved the ending however i am screaming in my head right now that if book two doesn’t come out soon, i may cry. I would love to read more on this couple.
The narration was good however as a small note, I would love to have had a bit more variance in the voices, specifically the female or to have heard it in Dual narration. But all in all, it was a fine performance. Clean editing, clear voice and enjoyable.
I have read a couple books from Alyne now and can say I would definitely purchase more. They all have been fantastic reads.

The very first chapter sucked me in and didn’t let me go. I fell in love with Jaxon right from the start. He’s the cool rocker and a man who knows what he wants. And he wants Autumn. I adored her. She was so human. Perfectly imperfect. And Hadley, her best friend… she was something else. Nothing like second chance love stories. This is a good one.
A second-chance romance that touched me deeply. I can’t stop thinking about Jax and Autumn and everything they went through. I felt their pain and love for one another, every single laugh, tear, and heartbreaking moment, all signs of a great book. With every page read, you can feel that Alyne wrote Rocking Autumn with all of her heart and it paid off in an epic love story. I can’t wait for more of Jax and Autumn.
Autumn and Jax were high school sweethearts with the world at their feet. But a tragic loss later and Jax bolted without a word, and she hasn’t seen him in 10 years. She’s over him, or so she thinks, and then he waltzes into her life again intent on a second chance with the only woman he’s ever loved. Autumn’s not that easy, though, and she makes him work for that second chance. Well, she makes him work a little. I personally would have made him grovel, beg at my feet and kiss my ass, then I’d have kicked him to the curb, but she’s nicer than I am I guess. But how can they make a relationship work when she has her store in Washington State and he lives in Chicago, AND he has a big secret he’s loathe to tell her?
I’ll be honest and say I wanted to love Rocking Autumn, so I tried really hard to get into it. I just couldn’t, though. The pace was more than a little slow and neither Autumn nor Jax was all that interesting. I found myself skimming through most of the middle and end just hoping the pace would pick up and something exciting would happen. Alas, my wish was not to be granted. When I read a second chance story that happens to also be a rockstar romance, I am looking for something super sexy, probably a little angsty, and exciting. Unfortunately, Rocking Autumn was none of those things. It was the opposite of those things, hence the 2.5 stars. It’s not the worst thing I’ve ever read, at least the editing was good, but it’s most definitely not anywhere near good, either.

Jackson returns to Washington 10 years after he broke Autumn’s heart. He left her after a tragedy he didn’t know how to handle. Being in a rock band, he has his share of girls. He always remembered what love he had with Autumn. Can he win back her heart? Will she ever forgive him leaving the way he did?
This is a story of forgiveness, second chances, secrets, and trying to hold onto love through a separation.
Steven Barrett was good. My only issue was his female roles needed to have more variations in the voices from male characters.

Angst Riddled Story
Well, this was certainly a good novel. The story was easy to follow, to understand, and was well written. The characters were well defined, believable and some matured over the course of the telling of this story. The romance was lovely to behold, however, this couples journey to their happily ever after was long and fraught with major angst. I could feel their emotions. I know I went through their turbulent times and dilemmas right along with them, as I needed my handy dandy tissue box along side me, in order to get through some of the most poignant parts of this story.

I absolutely fell in love with Jax & Autumn. This is a second chance romance, that has some secrets and back & forths, but it was so very well written. I didn’t like Jax for a bit but he grew on me pretty fast. This was the first audio performance I’ve listened to by Steven Barrett and I am sure he will quickly become one of my favorites.

Rocking Autumn
A Second Chance Romance (The Homecoming Series, Book 1)
By: Alyne Hart
Narrated by: Steven Barrett
Alyne Hart rocked this second chance romance. It is well written with interesting and heartfelt storylines that are captivating from start to end. The characters are likable and well developed, I was on team Autumn and Jax the whole time and kept hoping things were working out for them. Jax and Autumn were that it couple, together for most of their teen years with plans for their future. But Jax just ups and leaves without a word and breaking Autum’s heart. He comes back in town with the purpose of getting Autumn back. It took her years to get over him will she let him back into her life, can she forgive him. Working things out may not be that easy, there are more challenges in life as well as responsibilities. I liked how well plotted their story is, there were a lot of emotions in play, as well as plenty of drama, angst all leading to a wonderful second chance romance.
I listened to the Audible edition, Steven Barrett did a nice job narrating and bringing the characters to life. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen

In this day where romance books (especially those with hot rock stars) are a little on the “fantasy” side (as in – it’s a fun dream, but we know life doesn’t happen that way), this one is different. From the beginning Jax and Autumn’s story is believable. High school romance that didn’t work. Both off to big cities to live their dreams. No spoilers, but it’s nice to see a story where they are struggling. Not just emotionally, but there are real life money struggles. I love that they did find their HEA, and hope to see more of them and their friends.
I ama. huge fan of Alyne’s books. I am normally not a fan of second chance romances but this book changed my mind 🙂
The characters in this book were great and I really connected with them, I really enjoyed the story and how it ended.
