She’s full of life and made for adventure. He’s built from family responsibilities and devotion to commitments. The last thing Drake Presley needs is to be attracted to the lavender-eyed beauty with a teasing tongue and no sense of what responsibility means. She’s a roamer built for leaving. Only problem, he can’t stop thinking about her, and despite the fact that they rub each other the wrong … rub each other the wrong way, she seems to have decided that it’s her all-fired duty to loosen him up.
Free spirited Maisy Love is determined to see all fifty states traveling in her refurbished travel trailer and all before she turns thirty-five. She has two years to get it done. Focused on her internet show, On The Road with Maisy Love. She’s found the perfect place for her next show, The Goodnight Café. The fact the place is full of handsome cowboys is an added bonus for her viewers.
Trouble is, she just tangled with a skunk and a handsome cowboy with serious green eyes and her world just turned upside down, a relationship is not part of her plans.
Too bad for her, Drake Presley is gorgeous, tempting and despite smelling like a skunk he draws her like a bee to honey water.
Fireworks like never before are shooting off this summer and it’s not from the town celebration. Can these two opposites come to an agreement on the subject of love?

Drake is book six in the Cowboys of Ransom Creek series. I was really looking forward to the next book in this series, and I was not disappointed. I loved Drake and Maisy’s story. It kept me hooked from start to finish. You can’t go wrong with this book!
Brought together by a skunk? Debra’s books are always humorous and emotional! This book definitely has humor but also has the two main characters fighting their attraction all the way because of a parent that they lost to whom they were very close and they don’t want to lose anyone close again. However, along the way, humor rules! There’s always a matchmaking group of ladies in the small town that love to needle them and that causes lots of embarrassing blushes and conversations! Drake and Maisy know better though! They aren’t getting together because Drake is never marrying and Maisy is just staying in town until her truck is fixed, then she’s hitting the open road again! I also like Drake’s father AND all his brothers! A great story and one that I would recommend to anyone as a light-hearted, feel good story! Although I received this book from the author, I would have read it anyway! I love Debra’s books! These opinions are my own!
Oh those handsome Presley cowboys! The oldest Presley brother, Drake, is serious and sees that his brothers are taken care of. Maisy Love is a feisty hostess of an internet cooking show who can’t resist trying to make the handsome Drake smile! Both Drake and Maisy have determined that they will never marry but that was before they met each other! Debra Clopton has written another great, sweet romance! You will love this book! I received a complimentary advance e-book of Drake from the author. This is my honest opinion.
If you are a fan of the Cowboys of Ransom Creek series by Debra Clopton, then get ready, because Drake is an absolutely wonderful addition to these books! And if you haven’t read any of the stories before, well, I think you could probably pick this book up and read it just fine. You would need to understand that family members who have already found their happily ever afters will appear in this story, but the author fills in enough background information that the reader should be able to sit back and enjoy this heart tugging romance.
Drake is definitely one of my favorite stories of the series. There is just something about Drake. He spent years being there for his father and siblings, doing whatever he could to keep everyone going. Serious and dependable, there is hurt simmering inside of him that keeps him from moving forward.
Maisy seems to be the total opposite of Drake, however, these two have some surprising similarities. Their growing romance was such a joy to read about.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
Another awesome book in this series. Loved it.
Drake is the oldest brother who is a very serious person. He grew up fast after his mom died. He took on some of the responsibility to care for the younger siblings. He has sworn to never marry. He did not want to lose someone else he loved.
Maisy Love is a free spirit. She does traveling cook shows on the internet. She travels around the country in her old jeep and travel trailer. On her way to another city she takes a back road and breaks down. Her rig has to be towed to a mechanic shop. She and Drake meet under the funniest circumstance. She was going to pet the “Kitty” which was a skunk and Drake saves her, sorta.
This to me was the best of the series. I recommend you buy it and see if you don’t think so too.
Drake by Debra Clopton
Cowboys of Ransom Creek Series Book Six
Drake Presley is the eldest of the Presley siblings. The one who remembered their mom the clearest. And remembered her death. He became the dad-brother to his younger siblings. The most serious. And, what no one knew, he’d promised never to marry so he’d never have to lose someone he loved as his dad did. Until she came to town.
Maisy Love has her home behind her Jeep and is traveling around doing what she loves. On the Road with Maisy Love was her blog show. Going around cooking and filming in small diners around the country. Until an unexpected stop in Ransom Creek.
Just because it looks like a fluffy white and black kitty—doesn’t mean that’s what it is. Maisy’s city girl ways find out that lesson the hard way. The big difference between a cute cat and a smelly skunk. It does, however, have her meeting the hunky cowboy. Loved the story!

Goodness – I just loved this story. Don’t know part of it is that I’m also the oldest and a tad serious (although of the opposite gender), but there were so many parts of this book that had me laughing out loud. I mean, how many people would have not one but two run ins with a skunk.
Maisy’s teasing of a Drake is merciless – after all, all she wants to do was coax a smile out of the serious cowboy. Even when Drake comes to the realization he can’t resist being around Maisy, he doesn’t want to admit it to anyone else. So he has to dealing with his brothers razzing him about his attraction to Maisy and deal with the local matchmakers.
I always find it interesting how when we give advice to others, we sometimes come to the realization that the advice also applies to us. I’m hoping we will get to read Marcus’ story before the series ends.
this is a great story, starts with both of them tangling with a skunk, then she thinks he needs to loosen up and enjoy life, he thinks she is not serious enough. if you like cowboys and like to laugh you have to read the book, I was given a copy of the story but this is an honest review the story will make your day
True to form, Ms. Clopton gives us another sweet, clean, cowboy filled romance in this book. As well as the continuation to her series about the Presley brothers of Ransom Creek.
This time, the story belongs to Drake, the oldest of the brothers and the one that, when they lost their mother during the birth of their only sister, felt it the most. He took it upon himself to help his father raise the boys, even though he himself was only a child.
He’s the serious and unattached one.
But when traveling blogger Maisy Love’s Jeep breaks down and she is forced to stay in town for a week, she throws him for a loop. Both have an instant attraction, even though their meeting was prompted by a skunk! But neither wants to be involved with anyone.
Let’s not forget the matchmakers in the town where everyone knows your business.
Aside for the entertaining factor, it’s a story about family, and about the fact that we can’t dictate the matters of the heart.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
