opens with Days of the Week underwear and closes with a forty-year-old secret that refuses to stay submerged.
Thirty-four-year-old Vivi Tyler is living her nightmare: gay husband, self-harming teenager, melodramatic mother. They’re picking apart her sanity, one stitch at a time. She’s crawling along rock bottom when the arrival of a mysterious package opens a new door to a new country. A … opens a new door to a new country. A desperate Vivi dives headfirst into the quicksand that is Greece — her parents’ birthplace.
But it’s a paradise far from perfect, and instead of the new beginning she covets, Vivi discovers trouble is determined to keep her in its pocket. Soon she’s fighting for her daughter’s life in a Greek hospital, clashing with her Greek relatives, and cobbling together an inadequate cage around her heart, lest she fall for an unavailable man.
Before this story ends, somebody will be dead. And if some people are to be believed, this particular death is a good thing. A blessing, of sorts….

Needed a proof reader!
Did not enjoy the choppy writing style or one dimensional characters.
Very enjoyable book to read!
I think this book gave us a view of our parents that was more realistic than most people would really like the world to know… that they can be crazy… and that at some point we may turn into a version of them that we could not forsee. I enjoyed seeing the secrets unfold!
I loved this book. The characters are funny and entertaining. Gives a typical Greek family feeling.
Too much cursing. I did not read past the first chapter.
Great story but not keen on vulgar language used. Not necessary for such good writing.
I really enjoyed this book for several reasons: the dynamics between the characters especially Viv and her mom, the unfolding romance between Vivi and Max and the locale (Greece). At times the book was witty, ironic , romantic with a little tragedy thrown in. I had a hard time putting it down.
A good, solid-moving story with good doses of humor. Enjoyed it.
This was a harmless easy read. I don’t plan on reading anymore of Alex A. King books.
Loved it didn’t put it down at all
This book was fun, whacky, and at times a little outrageous!
I loved the Greece setting of this book. A witty story about divorce, Greek family life and raising a teenage daughter in today’s fast moving world.
I enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read others by this author
This story was interesting, very well written, and the style is fresh. If you enjoy entertainment, you’ll appreciate this one! Very worthwhile.
There’s too much sheer junk out there — skip those and treat yourself to this one.
