She left him at the altar, but the devil is making him keep his promise.Destiny is calling Chris, yet someone forgot to give him an instruction manual on conquering the world. Being the Antichrist is all well and good, but how is he supposed to know how to bring about Armageddon? He’s still waiting for his army of minions, the glory, the riches. And where is the respect? You’d think any woman … respect?
You’d think any woman would be ecstatic at the thought of marrying the future ruler of the world.
Not Isobel.
She keeps spouting things like “forced to get married,” “love me for myself, not because Daddy made you.”
It doesn’t help that his psychotic mother with a penchant for playing with dead things has taken an interest. However, having her henchman of the apocalypse attempt to kidnap him isn’t the way to get in his good graces.
Things are starting to get complicated on Earth. Dark forces are rising, Chris’s powers are still developing–and he’s pretty sure his dad, Lucifer, wants him dead. What’s the destroyer of the world to do?
Point him to the nearest bar. This calls for more beer.

This just kept getting better and better! From “no way” to “outta my way” Christopher came to terms with how much he wanted, no, he needed Isobel to be with him. All the wildness, all the craziness, all the supernatural powers for and against them, and their love for each other was always their driving force. The characters around them, well, they made for some great laughs, but they also made for some really touching moments. Of course, this is book two of a trilogy and that cliff hanger has me rushing onto the next one!
I absolutely loved the continuation to Chris and Isobel’s story. Chris is still as clueless as ever but he starting to recognize his true potential and finally take control of his fate. I loved every moment of the Jilted Princes, from the hilarious banter between Chris and his dad Lucifer oh also sister Bambi. Wasn’t expecting that surprise twist in the end overall enjoyable and entertaining looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
Book two in the Hell’s Son series picks up where we left off in Lazy Son – Chris has been left by Isobel at the altar, after both were surprised by who they were marrying. Unfortunately, Chris has given Isobel the impression that he was ‘fine’ getting hitched to anybody, instead of being upset that it wasn’t her. No one said she was logical!
Isobel escapes the church and runs for her freedom. When she gets back home, she decides that she’s through being the good daughter – much to her mother’s displeasure. Chris is trying to get back into her good graces. He loves her, but how to make her believe it when he is having trouble believing it himself? The Antichrist doesn’t deal with *ick* emotions and *gag* feelings. She wants him to do something heroic to win her back – the son of Lucifer has got his work cut out for him!
A trip to New Orleans, epic battles, a Hell Hound with questionable timing, the magical chastity belt, and of course fighting against Mommy’s horsemen; this is a non-stop ride. Chris has to determine his fate, and decide whether to fulfill the prophecy he’s been taught his entire life, or build a different future with his duckie, his queen. Can’t wait for Hell’s King!!
“Some secrets are best left untouched.”
When the King of Hell, witchy potential in-laws and the undead have you by the short and curlies, what’s a Jilted Prince to do? Become a Knight in Brimstone armor and go after his girl of course!
When Lucifer tricks his son into marriage, Chris is pleasantly surprised, more or less, to discover the bride is non-other than his wanna be lover, Isobel. But Isobel is a witch not to settle! She wants to marry for love, and has been waiting for her hero to rescue her from an unwanted marriage. But when she sees the shock on Chris’ face that he was to marry her, she runaway brides his butt, leaving him surprisingly speechless at the alter! How dare she turn down the Prince of Darkness! But after seeing her flee, Chris is determined to prove to Isobel that she is the witch for him, and goes on a quest to help her find her dead (or undead) father. But pesky obstacles in the form of the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse cause Chris and Isobel to realize their powers are stronger together…mayhap stronger than their families would like.
Eve Langlais has once again made this reader highly anticipate the next installment of the Hell’s Son series! I’ll forever be #TeamLucifer, but never has cheering on the Devil’s son felt so wrong, yet sooooo right! You won’t want to miss this one! Highly recommend!
