Well, Vicki Lewis Thompson has done it again, written a wonderful love story about a cowboy and the love of his life. Her stories are always top quality, realistic, thrilling, and soooo interesting from the first word to the last word. The McGavin Brothers series is excellent. This one features Bryce and Nicole, and how they helped each other get their music back where it belonged – in front of an audience. Loved Jimi. Also, love how his family always supports each other. If you like cowboys and their ladies, you will love this series. Buy any of her books and you can rest assured, you are in for an enjoyable read.
My new favourite in the series. Nicole Williams the new hair stylist in town, starts to play in the Guzzling Grizzly, the bar where Bryce McGavin is manager, two nights a week. Her love and joy in music reignites his own passion and not just for the music.
Can be read as a standalone.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.
Well she does it again! This is just the best romance series. Bryce has such a huge heart, love just doesn’t seem to be working out for him. I felt sorry for him because he has a heart for music and has allowed the lost of love to damper that gift, he is almost perfect. I like Nicole too, she’s very laid back and giving. Her inherited cat, Jimi Hendrix is the drama queen here, not to mention the ex though. So heartfelt, tears of joy….love this and couldn’t put it down!!
I loved Bryce and Nicole. When Bryce first noticed Nicole it was when her and her fiancée walked into the GG. But soon things weren’t right, and he jumped over the bar to come to her rescue.
It was a couple of days until Nicole came back into the bar. When she did she asked if she could play her guitar at the GG. She sang a few songs, and he was impressed. Bryce gave up music because of his ex…something inside him stirred hearing Nicole play.
The place wasn’t packed but soon as word got out it picked up big time. His whole family loved her.
He even picked up the guitar again.
He couldn’t wait to see her again. They had a connection between them. A love for music.
See what happens and buy the book.
A Cowboy’s Heart, the newest McGavin Brothers book by Vicki Lewis Thompson, follows Bryce as he tries to heal his broken heart a year after his fiancée ran out on their wedding day. A talented musician, Bryce has turned his back on the music he loves. He hasn’t written any songs, and he won’t play guitar and sing, not even at Zane and Mandy’s wedding. Then Nicole Williams comes to town. She is the first woman to catch Bryce’s eye since his ill-fated wedding day. She’s also recovering from a failed engagement, and that’s not the only thing they have in common. One night Nicole approaches Bryce while he’s tending bar at the Guzzling Grizzly with a request. Could she play guitar and sing two nights a week for tips? Turns out Nicole is a musician too. Now Bryce is really interested and not just in Nicole. Her performing sparks some musical desires in Bryce. Desires he hasn’t felt in quite a while. Maybe Nicole is just the woman to help Bryce reclaim the pieces of himself that have been missing.
While Ryker is my favorite McGavin brother, Bryce and Nicole are my favorite couple in the series. I’ve enjoyed all of the books, but the other couples each have little issues that bother me a little (for example, April’s initial resistance to accepting Ryker for who he is). None of those issues kept me from absolutely loving the books, but Bryce and Nicole are by far the most enjoyable couple to me. Neither of them is perfect; they each have scars from their prior relationships. They have let their former flames determine too much of who they are now, but together Bryce and Nicole bring out the best in each other. Watching (well, reading) Bryce reclaim his music and Nicole find her confidence in her own talent is simply amazing. Add in their steamy chemistry and you have a perfect romance novel.
Over the past few years, I’ve read fewer and fewer traditional romance novels. I have found myself drawn more frequently to paranormal romance and suspense novels. To be honest, or,an expert novels had started to bore me a little bit. With the McGavin Brothers series, Vicki Lewis Thompson has reminded me what I love about the romance genre. Anyone who enjoys romance novels will love this series.
I received a free advanced review copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.
