When I wake up on the ice planet, I’m scared of everything: this place is cold, silent, and the locals look more like blue devils than aliens. To make matters worse, one of the strangers decides I’m going to be his girlfriend and kidnaps me away from my sister. I’m completely and utterly alone. What’s a girl to do?Well, this girl escapes. Of course, that means I go from frying pan into the fire, … pan into the fire, and my situation gets even more dangerous. Just when I have no hope left, a new hero appears. Sure, he’s blue, horned, and has a tail. He’s also fierce, protective, makes me purr…and thinks I’m perfect.
But is what we have real or just a mating instinct?

I really enjoyed this one, it’s sweet, funny and entertaining. The author does a great job in convening the feelings of a sudden hearing loss, (our heroine looses her hearing implant,) and all in all it’s great to follow her journey towards independence, self-esteem and being able to believe in love.
Both the hero and the heroine are quite believable, and their journey is both sweet and thoughtful at the same time..
I have been hooked since I first stumbled across Ruby and her blue barbarians. Hot, hunky, horned in more ways than one, they are Aliens with swagger….
Add in some twists and turns Barbarian’s Touch is another fine example of how creative Ruby is. I cannot claim a favourite story in this series as I love them all equally.
I suspect the next story will be interesting to say the least, sparks are going to fly if my guess is correct. Keep up the great work Ruby.
I can’t wait to get started on book 9
Barbarian’s Touch is book seven in the Ice Planet Barbarians series by Ruby Dixon.
In Barbarian’s Touch things start to change for the inhabitants of this alien ice planet. They discover two new human women, Lila and Maddie.
Their is just something about this series that keeps me coming back for more. It’s sexy, funny, and sweet. I also enjoy the world Dixon has created and set up. We have a strong cast of characters and it’s nice to see them again.
I very much enjoy the double POV’s of our hero and heroine. This is a recurring theme in the series and one I like. It gives us a chance to see different aspects of what our leads are going through and how they are handling the situation. This one had a nice twist with our heroine. She’s deaf and so it’s a challenge for everyone, expect her sister, to talk to her. This struggle was real and I felt for Lilia. I also adored her blue alien. He accepts her for who she is and tries so hard to learn ASL and communicate with her. He was so sweet and took his time with her.
I really love the Ice Planet Barbarians series. Their has only been one in the series that had me hoping mad, but really this series is a lot of fun. I can’t wait to read Maddie’s story, Barbarian’s Taming. If you enjoy sexy alien romances, then you might like this series.
Rated: 4 Stars
I absolutely love this series and it seems like each book is better than the last! I love that Rokan is so patient and tries everything he can to communicate with Lila. Being deaf is hard here, it’s even harder on an alien world where no one understands your language. Lila’s strength throughout this entire endeavor is amazing. She learns to do things most of the other women didn’t and she teaches her language so she can communicate with Rokan. It’s amazing what they go through and how patient he is despite the force of resonance. I absolutely loved this one and all it’s twists and turns and I can’t wait to read Maddie’s story next!
Barbarian’s Touch (Ice Planet Barbarians #8) by Ruby Dixon – This is on kindle unlimited. Lilah and Rokan have a little more adventure to their love story, but there are still more surprises to be had on the crazy ice planet! Happy Reading!
What happens when you wake up in a cold area surrounded by blue people? Well we find out with Lilah’s story. So Lilah and her sister are rescued from a ship one that Kira brought down a few books back. So how long were they in there? A while. Here is the thing, Lilah is deaf. She uses sign language to talk. Unfortunately someone from the rescue party does something dumb. Roken has a bad feeling and he was right to feel that way. Lilah gets spirited away and ends up somewhere she does not want to be. She takes matters into her own hands which could put her in danger. Roken feels that she is his mate. He sets out to find her. He is patient and willing to do what he needs to be able to talk to her. Will he find her and help her out? This story is just as steamy as all the others and full of action. This one though is very emotional but just as amazing.
Barbarian’s Touch (Ice Planet Barbarians) A Sci Fi Alien Serial Romance by Ruby Dixon. This is Rokan and Lila’s story. Their story is sweet, and I fell in love with Rokan. He has found his mate, but he struggles with communicating with her. Not only is she human but she is also deaf. Lila is used to having her sister to rely on but being kidnapped by a blue alien changes a girl. She had to find her independence and learn to trust the beast before her. I loved that Rokan loved her fiercely but was also happy to let her have her independence.
Have I mentioned before how much I love Ruby’s world and her characters?
This is Rokan and Lilah’s story. It is written in first person with dual POV. Lilah had a cochlear implant that the kidnapping aliens removed, leaving her deaf once again. I loved that this book explored what it would be like to be non-hearing in an alien world. Physical dangers, inability to communicate effectively, and fear of discrimination are all things that Lilah experiences. Luckily, Rokan falls hard for the pretty brunette and he will do anything for her. He offers her his protection. He works hard to find a way to communicate with her. He never views the difficulty communicating as her problem, instead he views it as his. I love how Lilah is able to grow in confidence in herself and her ability to take care of herself as she learns to see herself through Rokan’s eyes. Her growth once she is separated from her over bearing sister is profound. Rokan is a seriously romantic blue alien. He views Lilah as perfect. I love that once he can sign, that the first message he conveys to her is his complete acceptance and adoration. This big blue guy might be my new favorite. I absolute loved him.
I love this story. There are a lot of feels. There are also very good lessons about not giving up even when you feel helpless. Rokan is awesome and I would totally have him as my book boyfriend.
Lila wakes up to a cold and silent world. The beings that she saw when she looked around looked like blue devils or demons. She finds out that they are the locals and not the aliens that took her from her home. Unfortunately, one of the aliens decides that he wants her as his mate and kidnaps Lila. She is completely alone and doesn’t know what to do…at first. Lila decides that she has to escape and comes up with a plan. When she escapes, things get worse before they get better. Lila is happy to see Rokan, one of the blue aliens that had seemed kind. He makes her purr and thinks she is perfect. But Lila isn’t sure if what they feel is real or a product of their khui’s resonating.
There are so many wonderful lessons in this story, and you don’t even realize it as you’re reading. Lila and Rokan are great together. I loved how Rokan was willing to teach Lila anything she wanted to learn. Lila deciding that she wanted to learn everything so she could take care of herself was very inspiring. Their happy ever after made me happy. I recommend reading this book or listening to it! I read it through Kindle Unlimited and heard it through Audible Escape.
I love Ruby Dixon’s Ice-planet series. Her characters are diverse, lovable, and utterly addictive.
This story is incredible. I loved every single minute!! These blue aliens are so special. I love this series and this book is such an amazing addiction. Lila and Rokan are the sweetest couple in the universe!! Oh my gosh they are so adorable and I love them so much!! Rokan made me swoon so hard through this book. He literally will do anything to make Lila happy and to make her feel safe. Lila is such an incredible character. She is deaf but it doesn’t stop her from doing whatever she has to do to survive. Her and Rokan spend so much time together and really get to know one another the best they can. This book was so perfect. Rokan is so sweet and Lila is so stronger and kind. Watching them fall for each other is such an amazing adventure. I love, love, love this book. It is defiantly my new favorite book in this series. You have to read it!! It’s so freaking wonderful!!! This couple yall will steal your heart!!! Their adventure is one you can not miss!!
So my binge of this series continues. I really appreciated how the heroine was deaf and we got to see how she handled being thrown into this strange situation while having trouble communicating with the Barbarians. I thought seeing this through both eyes was so refreshing. It also added a more intimate level to their relationship.
This series is just such a fun, sexy read. I loved this one especially. A deaf heroine who grows into her own on an ice planet? Such a great read!
This book is about Lila. If you want a woman who is relate-able, she is your gal. She starts out fearing for her life and trembling, but she develops into a strong woman you can respect. Rokan isn’t half bad either. He is a little hard headed, but still patient with Lila. I liked having a main character who couldn’t hear, it was something new to read about.
