Dillon Alexander has been Kit Derby’s nemesis since third grade, when he beat her in the school spelling bee. They’ve been competing ever since, driving each other to be the best at everything from science fairs to bake sales. While working together one night during their senior year, they stopped bickering long enough to share an emotionally charged kiss. But a tragedy that same night left them … them both racked with guilt, driving Dillon out of town and leaving Kit determined to keep her distance.
Now an emergency room physician, Dillon has returned to their hometown of Chance, Nebraska. Soon he and Kit fall back into old habits, sparring in public while trying to stay out of each other’s arms. But when a blizzard traps them overnight at Kit’s grandmother’s farmhouse, the real competition begins: Who will be the first to give in to the feelings they’ve denied for a decade?

Wow! What an enjoyable read. A romance with spice (and some very sexy scenes), but also character development and a lovely small-town setting. This is my first read of Erin Nicholas’ work, but I will be purchasing books 1 & 2 as I am desperately curious about the love stories between other characters in the book!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This was a great story. The characters and the plot were so realistic. I definitely have to go and read the first two stories of this series. All three couples were fabulous to read. Ms. Nicholas has a way of writing that just draws you into her world and captivates you. If you love a good read, then this one is for you. I highly recommend.
I LOVE the Taking Chances series by Erin Nicholas. Turned Up is the third book in this wonderful series, and I am almost sure, my absolute favorite.
Dillon and Kit, have been butting heads most of their lives. They have each pushed the other to better themselves thru friendly competition, well most of the time, ok maybe not even some of the times. But, over the years, emotions override their judgement and they kiss, the first time as seniors in high school. Now, both stuck at her grandmother’s house during a snow storm, a whole lot more than kissing is involved, and they are both ready to admit they have feelings for each other. Now, they are not fighting each other anymore. Then, they mayor’s wife…. Oops, sorry no spoilers, let me just say, she makes Kit think some things over, and almost…. Darn it, I said no spoilers. You will need to read this book to find out what happens.
Thank you, Ms. Nicholas for writing the stories you do. You have a way of drawing your readers into a book so that they never want to leave.
Thank you NetGalley for gifting me with a copy of this phenomenal book for my honest review. I will forever be grateful.

Ok. I absolutely loved books one and two in the Taking Chances series but book three, Turned Up, is my new favorite. I didn’t think that was possible but Erin Nicholas really outdid herself with this one. It was such a fun story to read that I swear I had a smile on my face throughout the whole book. Well, except for one part where her amazing writing totally triggered my emotions. Erin is totally sneaky like that. Here I am smiling and swooning away and then BOOM. Tear jerking moment. And I totally loved it! Kit and Dillon were so freaking adorable together. They’re pretty much rivals with really hot chemistry and have known eachother forever. I loved that aspect of their relationship. And I loved how combustible they were. I will never look at Chutes and Ladders the same way again. Read this book and you’ll know what I’m talking about. I am feeling so lucky that I had the chance to read an ARC of this book so early but now I’m sad that this series might be over. At least I’ve got Sapphire Falls to go back to.
A very sweet, sexy romance. Dillon and Kit are not like any couple I’ve read before. They have known each other since grade school. They have always pushed each other to do better. But it got really old hearing how competitive Dillon and Kit are. Tidbits of info kept circling around and around.
One thing I do have to commend Ms. Nicholas about… This is the third book in a series, but completely a stand alone book. This is the only book I’ve read from this series and I never once felt lost. If you are wanting a romance more on the sweet side, this might be the perfect book/series for you.
Excellent ending to the series!!!
Kit and Dillon have been competing against each other to be the best since the third grade. That competitive edge to their relationship just means more fireworks when they get together. Their interactions are full of heat, fight, and explosive chemistry. I loved how they pushed each other to see another perspective and even though they’ve known each other forever, there’s still things that they don’t know about the other. I will definitely miss the characters from Chance but this book couldn’t have had a more perfect ending!!!
