Abused horrifically as a boy, Nick Mathers has come to terms with his existence as a man. Mostly. Other days life seems a little much. Especially when Nick knows he’ll always be alone.
On those days his thoughts turn black. He walks the Norfolk coast and considers the frigid embrace of the waves. And then, one stormy night, he finds someone who’s tasted just that. The beautiful stranger on the … stranger on the beach is near death, and Nick rushes him home to slowly nurse back to health. As he does, he finds a love unlike any other. Owen Butler’s body is as warm as the sea was cold, his heart as big as an ocean. And Owen is a man who swears to repay the favor. Nick can yet be saved from himself, and he will see that he is indeed a man… worth keeping.

Ah, for the love of a tortured hero… In Worth Keeping, Owen offers up every part of himself—his heart and mind and soul and even his pride—to provide Nick with the loving arms he so desperately needs to hold him.
Worth Keeping explores my favorite romance trope—the one I like best to read and am compelled to write. For me, there is nothing that …
Nick and Owen were wonderfully well-written characters both of whom are dealing with their own traumas that haunt them. I enjoyed seeing Owen return the favor Nick did him in pulling him from the water, he battled alongside Nick as he fought his way back from the brink. This was an emotional but enjoyable read.

When Nick was a child his mother sold him for sex. His life is a mess. Owen lost his boyfriend two years ago and feel guilty so he tries to kill himself by jumping off a boat. Nick ends up saving him. They end up healing each other. I really enjoyed this book.
A truly wonderful story. The characters were also wonderful. The story just reaches inside you and pulls you in and wraps around you and does not let go until the very last word.

This is the first story I’ve read Susan Mac Nicol an Worth keeping is most definitely worth reading.
These are two wounded souls who inadvertently stumble into each others world
but with the day to day life they slowly open up to one another.
So now can they finally figure out just how they can …
I really liked this story. It is full of depth and emotion and touches on some very disturbing topics. I will say however that there is a lot going on and at times I was a little overwhelmed with all the emotion, angst and different things happening. Still it is a beautiful and poignant story.
There are a lot of characters in this story also, but …
To say this book is intense is an understatement of giant proportions. Nick meets Owen in a rather unorthodox way and a sort of friendship/romance begins. Old demons won’t stay hidden, though, and past pain catches up. This story is emotionally grueling. It holds you in it’s grasp pretty much til the last chapter. Seeing evil get it’s deserved …
Pschopathic ex who won’t let go of his former lover. Therapy would be needed for some time for victim, but new lover was understanding, helpful, loving and caring. They both needed each other.
