She didn’t just bring me back to life. She brought me back to living. You think you know my story, but you have no idea. How could you? I cover my tracks well. After a hellish past, I’ve got a good thing going being hired at Blake Security. I’m one of the good guys now…protect and serve and all that jazz. Kicking ass and rescuing damsels in distress – all in a day’s work. Then I discover *this* … day’s work.
Then I discover *this* damsel is not that innocent.
Warning: I know you want the whole story right now. But that’s not how things went down. And I think you know by now when it comes to ORUS, things don’t always go according to f*cking plan. (Deep is Book 1 of the Deep Duet. The conclusion will come in Book 2, Deeper)

There was thrilling suspense, romance, chemistry . . . but something was missing.
I have waited just a few months for this one to unfold and come to the scene. I found it missing something. I will need to reread to find what was missing. Rafe had my wanting more and then some. . . I found Dianna was a match for him but not. Does that make sense. This in-deed was a page turner for me but after turning so many pages I was wanting more and not getting it. It was almost like something was hanging just out of my reach.
As always Malone and Malone did a great job with weaving a tale to get immersed in. I think that I would need something extra to boost the read further. I think something better should be around the corner for Rafe. Maybe Dianna will make a turnaround and make a perfect connection point for Rafe and all that he has going on.
Rafe. He has no idea what’s coming. He even ignored the little discrepancies that he would normally pursue . He’s fallen so hard for her. But who is she?
Diana is not who she seems to be. She’s got an agenda and Rafe is going to pay for his past sins. But, the more time she spends with him, the harder it is to focus on her plans. He’s so much more than what she believes.
But when the opportunity presents itself, she’s back on track and gets the job done. But she learns so much more than what she expected. Who is Raphael DeMarco?!
1/2 STARS .
So never having read anything by this author before, I was going in totally blind.
So First impressions from me, well yep they be good folks, this is definitely an author I can gel with.
A very easy writing style that initially pulled me right in and made me want to delve deeper into the whole story.
I didn’t realise originally that this was part of an on-going series, but I found that really didn’t matter at all.
The backstory was cleverly woven in. without the need to have read previous material to get up to speed.
So this can totally be read as a stand-alone Folks.
And I will definitely be checking out some more of this author’s superb offerings when I get a spare hour or two.
Now down the nitty gritty what’s this about?
Well, this is basically Dianna’s and Rafe’s tale.
Rafe all-round bad-ass, former Orus operative, now semi-retired and working for his brother in law at Blake security.
So trying to lead a semi-normal life and put his government sanctioned killing day’s behind him.
And then enter Dianna, she has made it her life’s mission to bring to justice her fathers killer.
The killer she looked straight in the eyes and also lived to tell the tale.
That killer that is Rafe!!
So, This is one of those stories that the pages just keep turning by themselves and you can’t help but be drawn right in.
Deep is fabulously well written and I finished this in record time.
So, Why not a higher rating then?
Well, I am not a big fan of the revenge trope and it did seem to drag on just a tad too long for my liking.
I also I wasn’t that fond of Dianna either, She came across as extremely conniving and quite frankly a sneaky little B**ch.
So yeh Dianna, really not a fan here people.
But Rafe, well tickle my funny bone, he was one super hot man-toy.
Totally fan-Girling here.
I really hated the way Dianna played him, using her feminine wiles to ensnare him in her web.
but I still felt there was a missing connection here slightly, I just wasn’t quite feeling it and I’m not sure exactly why.
But that aside I’m still fairly optimistic for take two, hopefully, everybody will be more aware of the score and I’m extremely intrigued to see where this is going to head next.
So, in conclusion, I found Deep to be a good solid read with a few teensy teething issues those aside I’m still looking forward very much to the next read.
Thank You to the Author for proving me with an ARC of Deep of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

It’s RAFE’S story!!! I can’t be any happier that we’re finally getting Rafe’s story. And it’s a great one, just like I knew it would be. Thank you Malones for finally giving me the story of the most intriguing character in Blake Security world.
Rafe is finally out in the open after being “dead” for years. But there’s someone after him, someone with vengeance on their mind (someone I unfortunately, ended up disliking). Cue the intrigue and the suspense and the sexy times. Thank God the second part of this duet is coming soon, because I need to know more!!
Anyone that is familiar with my reviews knows I don’t like cliffhangers! However, since I’ve read books by both authors and enjoyed them so much, when they started collaborating on these books, I had to read them! Beginning with Lucia and Noah’s books, I was hooked. The stories are so intriguing that I didn’t mind that they were cliffhangers, I just couldn’t wait for the next book!
This story is another that ties in with the Shameless and Force books. Many of the same characters are involved, and the Hero is one that was introduced earlier. The heroine is new, but is someone that was known (kind of) by the Hero, was affected by his previous occupation. (I don’t want to give away too much, but it’s definitely an interesting story line!) I was drawn in from the very beginning, and before I knew it, I was at the end!
The Hero is really a good guy, but thinks he isn’t. He is trying to become the man he thinks he should be, and is turning his life around, but things (or people!) from his past keep coming back to haunt him.
The heroine is a good girl, with a bad past. She blames the Hero for everything that is bad in her life, even though they really don’t know each other. She is unable to move on with her life, and spins a web of lies to cover up her true motives. Of course, this can’t work out well for her in the end.
There is so much at work in this book, so many things going on that you think you know what is going to happen, but really, you don’t. I was totally on pins and needles the entire time I was reading, and they ended the book on such a high note, that you can’t help but think, “I’ve gotta get the next book. I can’t rest until I have it!” I can see how amazing they could be together, but I just can’t see how they can move on with everything that happened. Of course, I though the same thing with the Shameless and Force books, and they had their HEA, so maybe there is hope!
Deep by M. Malone & Nana Malone. Is book one in the Deep Duet. I found it powerful, gritty, it’s a suspense filled journey, surrounded by a mystery. Now I haven’t read the other books in the series, but Deep was a complete standalone. I had no problems following all the mystery, suspense, and drama.
Deep is a story about revenge. Diana wants revenge on Rafe. He murdered her father. We do see pieces throughout the story that she may not completely understand what kind of man her father was. But she’s focused on revenge. She wants him to pay. What she doesn’t expect is how attracted to him she is. The chemistry between them is HOT!!
I loved the writing style of these two authors. The flow of the story was beautifully told. I was captivated by this story. From start to finish I couldn’t put it down. From the storyline, to the chemistry of the characters, it’s absolute PERFECTION!!! I found Deep one hell of a thrill ride, I’m looking forward to Deeper!!

A rip-roaring hotbed of sexy heat. The ladies are always giving us the goods. I went into this book not even realizing this was Rafe story from the Shameless series. Oh heck yeah, it’s good.
Deep is the first book in The Deep Duet and it’s the first book I’ve read by the Malone writing team and it certainly won’t be the last. While there are other books in a series, based on Blake Security previous to this one, this is Rafael and Diana’s story, told in dual POV. Be prepared because it ends in a huge cliffhanger. This story moves at a furious pace, with a lot of intrigue and mystery surrounding both characters, one of which is fueled by revenge. I can’t wait for the conclusion, due in a few weeks, to resolve the mystery. I have a feeling I’ll be in for a surprise!
Diana Vanergraff was a witness to her father’s murder and for some unexplained reason she was spared her life. She remembers the man who killed him and vowed revenge, for his death, and to recover something of hers that went missing that night. After graduating from college she spent the next three years looking for him, fueled by hate, and after discovering his name she began to tag his every move and plan her next move.
“Hatred was a powerful drug, and for years she’d been fueled on a steady diet of it for the man who’d killed her father. He was her personal bogeyman and the personification of everything evil in this world. Rafael DeMarco was the very thing that tormented her dreams.”
Rafael “Rafe” DeMarco retired from ORUS, an elite and shadowy organization that supported the US Government. ORUS mainly contracted hits from the CIA, FBI and Interpol on the most dangerous and ruthless criminals. Years ago he’d been hired to take out Dieter Vangergraff, and Rafe realized too late his daughter had witnessed the hit, and decided to go against all the rules and leave her alive. It was a decision that still bothered and tormented him, years later. It seems that others, including Interpol, have been questioning the whereabouts of the surviving Vangergraff offspring. And the rumor of a missing family heirloom, The Jewel of The Sea, a diamond worth $250,000,00 dollars that went missing after Dieter’s death.
When Rafe rescues a young woman, Diane Renquist, from a car accident, who was fleeing an abusive relationship, his instinct to protect kicks in and he offers her his home. Diana “allows” Rafe’s help, just until she’s well enough to leave, and in the meantime Rafe discovers he likes having someone to take care of. And Diana makes plans for revenge and to recover something that belongs to her. The closer they become, the more she begins to question how this caring man can be a ruthless hitman. Could she have been wrong? Is there more to the story than what she believes?
These authors are new to me. That’s not going to last for long. They wrote a good story that sucked me right in and then made me fall in love with the characters.
Rafe spent years in deep cover for the FBI and now he’s out of it. He works at his brother-in-law’s security business and sometimes helps out damsels in distress. However, the FBI keeps trying to pull him in for more information and to do more things for them. He wants to have nothing to do with them and would prefer to leave the past his handler wants to dig up well into the past.
Diana has spent years to trying to figure out who killed her father and why. It happened right in front of her and she was spared even though she expected the masked gunman to kill her too. Finally, after 10 years, she has found his killer, and now she’s going to make him pay. Or is she?
This book is a cliffhanger. That’s not a spoiler since it says it clearly in the description. I went into reading the book knowing that was going to happen, so I girded my loins so that I could read it. It was a great book and I can’t wait for the second part.
I read the little prequel too, which was nice because it helped me learn more about Rafe and his motivations and helped me enjoy this book even more. This series is going to be one that is on my reread list.
Rafael DeMarco is trying to adjust to civilian life again, enyoing his work at Blake Security and being near his sister Lucia. But when he rescue Dianna from an accident he knows he had s in trouble because he can’t fight the attraction but he can sense that Diana means trouble. Can the have a chance together whe all she wants is revenge his father’s murder in the hand she of Rafael. You can’t put the book down
Having not read the previous books that many of these characters were in, I wasn’t familiar with their back stories, but I have to say that they are certainly an intriguing bunch and I will be checking them out. That said, I didn’t have any problem following this tale. The story is gritty and somewhat dark, it’s well-written and flows nicely. Rafe’s history is mentioned and we do get a few nuggets, but it’s just enough to make our sexy hero a bit mysterious. Whether he’s in the middle of a knock-down, drag-out fight, or charming the pants off Diana, he’s just one of those characters that you can’t help but fall a little in love with. Diana, however, isn’t quite as likable – at least not for this reader. I get that she has her reasons for her actions, but for a seemingly intelligent young woman, she doesn’t consider the consequences of many of her actions. She does finally redeem herself somewhat, but I’m still on the fence and will be interested to see what she does in the next part of this tale. I did have a problem with Rafe bringing Diana into his life so quickly, even when he’s suspicious of her. But, the more I read, the more it felt like this pair was almost magnetically pulled toward each other whether that went against their better judgment or not. I knew going in that there would be a cliffy and as expected, it’s a doozy, leaving me anxious to get hold of the next part of Rafe and Diana’s story.
