After her abduction from Earth, nineteen-year-old Ellie Jonas quickly became the favorite pet of an alien warlord, and while she still blushes crimson each time she is stripped, spanked, and put on display for him, as the months have passed she has begun to adapt to her new life. But everything changes the day she meets Commander Graham Masterson of the Swarii.Ellie knows instantly that there is … that there is something special about Graham, and after she risks her master’s wrath by visiting the handsome alien warrior in the dungeons it soon becomes apparent that there is much more than just physical attraction between them. From the moment Graham first lays a hand on her, Ellie’s body leaves her in no doubt that she is bound to him for life, and with every passing second her need for him grows more intense.
Yet even after Graham and his men make their escape and take her along, Ellie cannot help wondering if she has merely traded one form of captivity for another. She aches for Graham to rip her clothes off and claim her hard and thoroughly, and he promises to be a devoted mate, but he also makes it clear to Ellie that he will not hesitate to bare her bottom for a painful, humiliating spanking if she fails to do as she is told.
Despite Ellie’s efforts to resist her body’s demands, Graham’s dominant lovemaking proves more pleasurable than she would have ever dreamed and she is left yearning for him to take her as hard and often as he pleases. But when Ellie’s repeated refusal to follow his orders puts her life at great risk, will Graham be prepared to punish his untamed mate as sternly and shamefully as necessary to teach her to obey?

A huge learning curve to new alien ways
—>>> Review Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars – Ellie has a huge learning curve to new alien ways when she escapes her owner and then becomes the wife of the Swarii commander, Graham. Not that she was really amenable to the new situation in the first place, because nothing has ever been the same since she was taken from her own planet. The story is lovely and well thought out, though I did not expect the use of the English names given to the Commander and his men, was just expecting more alien names especially as they did learn to speak the English language in the few months’ time they were jailed with other prisoners.
Loved the book it was great, the story was written well and the characters were interesting. Ellie was abduction from Earth, she was the favorite pet of an alien warlord, and while she still blushes crimson each time she is stripped, spanked, and put on display for him, the months day she meets Commander Graham Masterson of the Swarii. Graham is her mate he is very dominant he will disapline her as needed.

AMAZING! A fantastic, beautifully written read. An intense storyline that holds your attention as you get caught up in the fierce twists and hot chemistry. Plenty of excitement and emotionally heartfelt. A thrilling must read.
The fight is on! Ellie and Graham can’t fight their attraction from each other, but Ellie isn’t the submissive little woman that Graham is expecting her to be. She needs to show him that she can be a valuable member of the crew, but he keeps shutting her down to the point that it’s tearing them apart. Love this new twist. Lots of action and adventure, great characters and worldbuilding. a great read.

Ellie has been a lizards pet. It seems she’s been able to understand their language and she helps herself and other slaves. Some Swarii captives are captured and interrogated and then they are suppose to be executed. She goes to the cell where the captain of the Swarii, Graham, is and she touches him. Sparks fly and they end up mated. Since Graham is scared of hurting Ellie if he spanks her there are lots of misunderstandings. Finally he gives Ellie a good spanking since she tends to be a brate. There is domination but also passion, love, steam and a great HEA> I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
It’s an alien abduction trope with dominance themes with the whole chase me but “I’ll play hard to get”.
While this book is like others in this trope, I did find that I was often annoyed with Ellie. She complained that Graham didn’t listen to her and wouldn’t change for her, but she was unwilling to meet in the middle for him.
It’s a slow burn and will hit the romance quotas. It’s a personal preference with what is annoying and what is not.
Fantastic Action But Feminists Beware
This is a space opera with a lot of great action and a wonderful, strong female protagonist. However, feminists may not like the relationship themes and the frequent use of punishment.
The Opening
The opening prologue established Ellie as the main character and introduced her personality and her changing situation. However, it was a bit confusing. One minute she was in her bed, the next she was having chains removed in an alien palace.
It felt as though several interesting chapters had been left out of the story so we could arrive more quickly at the bit with spanking. There was no need to make the opening a prologue. It could have been a series of chapters that more clearly showed her alien abduction. I can imagine that an actual abduction scene would add a more action-packed and interesting start to this story.
The Characters
Ellie is a strong female protagonist. Given that she feels socially isolated in the opening paragraphs and she is then kidnapped and sold into slavery, she is clearly a sympathetic character. I was rooting for her throughout the story but disappointed by her character arc.
This is one of those odd situations where the characters in a book pass the Bechdel-Wallace Test despite the story being distinctly non-feminist. However, the test is clearly passed with flying colors since Ellie and Mary discuss engineering and plot together against the men at several points during the story.
Graham is an interesting hero. I didn’t understand why the author stopped calling him by his real name of Graam Mahstersyn and began calling him Graham Masterson. I get that this is how Ellie originally translated his name, but as the story progresses we’re almost always with the Swarii people so it would make more sense to use their form of the name.
I was disappointed that Graham’s character arc was so flat. I mean, his attitudes and behavior was unchanged by the events of the story as they unfolded. I felt he could have changed more, compromised more.
I was the most disappointed by Mary. As a character, she had the most potential, I felt. Yet she just gave up completely on her beliefs and attitudes by the end. I can’t explain what I mean more clearly without introducing spoilers.
The Plot
The relationship plot followed the fated mate trope with the typical conflicts found within that trope, i.e., Ellie is the human who is unaware of how the fated mate system works and so needs to be educated before she can fully embrace the benefits of what being a fated mate means to her.
I felt disappointed by the resolution of the relationship plot. It wasn’t what I was hoping for or expected. Given the conversations that Mary and Ellie had, I was hoping for more progress.
The action plot is far more interesting, and its resolution most satisfying. I can’t say much without spoilers, but Ellie is awesome and her capabilities shine through at several points during the action plot. Without her, the macho idiots wouldn’t survive let alone prosper by the end.
The Setting
I loved the setting. The Swarii people and their lizard enemies were well crafted. This is space opera rather than hard sci-fi, so don’t expect too much. However, I thought that the locations were nicely described and interesting.
The various “magical” parts were wonderful. I don’t think it’s giving up too much to mention that telepathy is involved as well as drugs that enhance performance.
The Prose
I’ve read Korey Mae Johnson’s work before, so I wasn’t surprised to find that it was crisp and clear and showed rather than told the story. I was rapidly immersed in this tale. Either she is an amazingly talented author or she has a fantastic editing team or both.
My Opinion
His Untamed Mate is an enjoyable space romp. As long as you are not a feminist and you are okay with lots and lots and lots of spanking, then I can guarantee that you will enjoy this space romance.
Because I feel the opening was too abrupt and I didn’t quite enjoy the resolution of the relationship arc, I am going to rate this 8 out of 10. That will translate to 4 out of 5 on Goodreads and Amazon.
