This was a great story and it was fun to be reacquainted with and remember old friends from the other books in this series! Little Walter stole my heart and I loved Seth’s recounting of his choice of bride! KC is a remarkable and strong woman and Chogan is the perfect compliment to her personality, but how can it work that a white woman could be with an Indian man? Debra creates a town, situation, and family where anything is possible!
As always Lara is the perfect narrator for this series! She easily pronounces the Blackfoot language, gently rolls out the Scottish brogue, distinguishes between the men, women, and children, and keeps the story intriguing! I love her cadence as well.
Debra offered me a copy of this audiobook! I have enjoyed many others in this series and my reviews are always 100% my own opinions!
A bit disappointing. I’ve come to really enjoy the Montana Sky series but this one missed the mark. It seemed less romantic and less suspenseful. I probably should have given it 3.5 stars
It was a fun read and an interesting take on the time period.
Enjoyed the twists and turns of this book..
We return to Sweet Water Springs for the story of Sheriff K C Granger and Chogan “Red Charlie”. I have read all the books in this series and have thoroughly enjoyed them. This author is a great storyteller and knows her history regarding this time period. The stories are very vivid and detailed and you can see the landscape, feel the snow and fall in love with the town and its people. Montana Sky Justice was a good story with really bad characters and really good characters. This is a time when good was good and bad was bad and you knew where you stood. That being said this book is one of my least favorites of the series as there was very little romance between the hero and heroine. The story was so much about how tough Sheriff Granger was and very little between her and Chogan, however, I did like Chogan’s character.
Wow what a ride this new story from author Debra Holland has been. I couldn’t put this book down. There is so much going on and getting to revisit with so many characters from Sweetwater Springs and Morgan Crossing was phenomenal and greatly appreciated by this reader. I loved this story and with so much going on with the festival to villainy to romance where that even had a chance to sneak in I don’t really know but it did. Wow there is so much going on in this story that is still going through my mind.
I think this probably now my favorite story in this series and I have read them all. Amazing story line, characters old, new characters, and great writing makes for an awesome story. I highly recommend this story and it’s so good you won’t regret buying it. If you have read any of Debra Holland’s Montana Sky series start at the beginning and go to this authors website to find a list of these stories in order including a separate but made for this series Mail Order Brides of the West which are very much a part of this series and another author’s Montana series.
Once again, I visited Montana, had an interesting holiday, met new friends and visited old neighbors in Sweetwater Springs. Choban Charlie Red Wolf has been a mainstay in the town for quite some time, caring for the iron works needed for horses, tools and yes, grave yards. He befriended horse trainers, helped when needed and acted as a Deputy if called upon. And then, Choban fell in love with the Sheriff Kathryn Carolina Granger; but, you best call her K.C. to remain her friend. The story is heartfelt and brought out the Kleenex; the emotion is intense as thieves rob and kill during a bank robbery; the smiles were sweet when a new family was formed and blessed by Reverend Norton. We fans of Montana Sky books have waited for a new life for K.C. and other great characters; this is the story everyone will love.
