CROSS is a full-length, standalone first book in a steamy and suspenseful new MC Romance series – Devil’s Nightmare MC – by Lena Bourne. No Cliffhanger, HEA Guaranteed!CrossI’m the guy whose name brings fear into the hearts of even the hardest men. They call me Cross, because I’ve killed enough men to fill a cemetery, and I never saw any problem with that. Until a woman I hardly remember brought … a woman I hardly remember brought my eleven-year-old daughter that I didn’t know existed, to my doorstep and left her for me to take care of.
At first my daughter was a complication I didn’t need, but now I’ll do everything I can to raise her right. I’ll even stay away from her hot-as-sin guidance counselor Roxanne, who makes me feel like I’m twenty again, and not pushing forty. Which isn’t to say I wouldn’t show her what a real man can do with a woman like her.
Roxie
My father was the president of an outlaw MC, and until I turned twenty-one a world of bikers, mayhem and crime was all I knew. Then a rival gang destroyed it all, killed my family and everyone I held dear, and made me the property of a brutal, ruthless man. I ran away, got an education, and haven’t looked back.
Now I’m the guidance counselor at a small town junior high school, my old life so far behind me it might as well be someone else’s past, and I was happy to leave it there. But then I met Cross, the bad boy biker father of one of my wayward students. He makes me yearn for the life I lost, crave all the excitement that used to be my everyday. Makes me want to be a bad girl again, if only for one night.
But I won’t go down that road again. It doesn’t lead anywhere good.
Cross: Devil’s Nightmare MC is biker romance novel, which contains steamy sex scenes and deals with disturbing themes that may be uncomfortable for some readers. Intended for 18+ audiences.

While I was entertained by this book, I had a hard time connecting to the main characters for different reasons.

Book 1 in the Devils Nightmare MC and my first book by this author too! ill defiantly be back! this is Cross and Roxie’s story. Roxies on the run from the MC that killed her family and MC. she sets up working as a counselor in a school where she meets Lillie. Cross didn’t know he had a daughter till she was left with him at 11 years old, when she starts playing up at school and is sent to the counselor Cross has an instant attraction to Roxie. With Cross wondering if Roxie is cut out for life in an MC he soon discovers her past when it comes back for her. Will they be able to survive whats coming? Well written with a great storyline . filled with action, secrets, twists, desire, lust and hot bikers and their determined ol’ladies.

Roxanne has been on the run since the night a rival MC killed her family. She thinks she’s finally found a small town to settle in and has a great job as a guidance counselor. Most of the kids are good except poor misunderstood Lily. When Roxanne finds out Lily’s father, Cross, is with a MC, memories of her past life fly to the surface. Will she be able to be happy in her new life or will this new MC and Cross be what she needs to finally realize where she’s always belonged? This is a great story although I do wish I saw a little more of Lily in it.

I enjoyed this book and thought it was a great introduction to this series. I really liked the characters, Cross, his daughter Lily and Roxie were were interesting and I found the connections between them intriguing. Cross was easy to fall for. He was hot, tough but caring, and filled with emotional turmoil over doing what was right for those he loved and what was right for his MC. My heart ached for Lily. This young girl’s world had been totally shaken up and I could completely understand her anxiety and fears. As for Roxie my feeling were more complicated. While I could sympathize with her and like her, I can’t say I had a lot of respect for her. I can forgive her for getting swept up in her emotions but I won’t forgive her for dropping the ball as far as Lily was concerned. Love and desire are wonderful but you have an important job; so do it! Even with that pet peeve, I liked this book and look forward to reading more books from this series. This is my elective, sincere review.
Loving this mc romance and hope to read. Love how bad boy Cross falls for Roxie even though he tries to stay away from her he knows he cannot. Good read and romance.

Definitely steamy
This book had good flow, a good pace, great steamy scenes and an above average plot. But I remain ambivalent in my rating. The steamy scenes were just that little bit OTT with exploding colours and blinding light, basically losing consciousness. Not to mention the over used ‘fire in his eyes’ … It made me want to skip through the scenes… And who wants to skip through the steamy scenes of a romance?
I cared about Cross and Roxie’s HEA though, but I would have liked a little more engagement with Lily. Only 2 other characters are interesting enough for me to continue reading the series.

She comes from a MC family until it was all ruined and she was given over as property. Roxie knows what MC life is about and refuses to give in to that life or go down that path again. Cross is the MC president who was given a child he knew nothing about. Now he is a father with a daughter he would do everything within his power to protect. She has a guidance counselor who is driving him crazy because he is drawn to her. As they get to know each other it is only a matter of time before their hearts fall. Can Roxie put aside her fears to take a chance with Cross and his MC for a chance at a happily ever after?

This novel was one of those that you just zoom through. There’s insta-love, the girl runs at the first sign of trouble, the guy does something heroic, she runs back asking for another chance, and happily ever after. Nothing really special about the plot, the characters, or the sexytimez. If you want a quick and easy read involving an MC, you could definitely do worse than this one.
My first book by this author and I’m looking forward to reading more.
I listened to CROSS in audible, the narration was good and I got a good feel for the characters and the action.
As MC romance goes, this fulfilled everything I love about them.
Action, drama, hotness, danger.
When Roxie’s father and her family are killed along with the rest of the MC by another MC, she runs and is determined to start again and leave that life behind her.
6 years later Roxie starts a new job working at a School as a guidance Councillor, she works with problematic pupils, this is when she comes across her new case, a young girl all the teachers have given up on, the daughter of an MC President.
Cross and Roxie are drawn to each other like magnets, they argue, she doesn’t back down, Roxie has been used to men like Cross most of her life and she isn’t intimidated by him, they have chemistry, she fascinates him they are both drawn to each other, its hot and they begin seeing each other.
After vowing to stay away from the MC life Roxie needs to decide if she wants to go with her heart or head and if she tells Cross who she really is and all about her past life.
I enjoyed it, I felt there was some info missing re Cross’s daughter, why she acted up, why she had dreams, maybe it was in a previous book? I don’t know but it all needed tying together, the puzzle pieces didn’t make a bigger picture in the end with some things but I would read more in this series.
Cross is the first book in the in the Devil’s Nightmare MC series, and what a way to start a series! Roxie has restarted her life to become a guidance counselor for middle school kids. Her first assignment is with Lily, the daughter of the local MC president, and someone she can fully relate to. She’s completely drawn to Cross, but can she risk her heart, secrets, and safety?
Oh my, this book had secrets, suspense, sexual tension, a serious reflection of one’s self to build the relationships that are needed. Roxie and Cross were hot together, but they also made a great team. Roxie was so brave when it came to defending Lily and wanting the best for her, but was tentative when it came to reaching for her own happiness. Sometimes that drove me a little crazy, but I totally understood her reasons, and it was just one of the reasons why I flipped through pages – to find out if she would find that happy ending! Cross was fierce, dominant, and all alpha, but I loved that he was realizing that he wasn’t indestructible and had a daughter to look after. I loved his connection with Lily and that he wanted more with her, and I loved how he developed his relationship with Roxie. Some of the secrets and suspense of the club definitely had me flipping through the pages, and I could barely put this book down once I started it! I’m excited to read the next book in the series and look forward to reading more from Ms. Bourne!
Another amazing MC romance from Lena Bourne. The characters are interesting and suck you into their lives. The drama in this story is intense and you become vested in the outcome. Cross and Roxie are attracted to each other with such lust and passion but, that quickly gives way to deeper emotions and connections. Cross’s daughter, Lily is a tough little girl with too much loss in her short life that you just want to hug her.
The action of the story is fast paced and nerve-wrecking with a couple of twists to keep you glued to the book. I love Cross’s gifts to Roxie at the end and the well-deserved happy ending.
I recommend this story because it is a fantastic, well developed story that is hard as it is soft and rough as it is gentle and totally worth the read.
I read the other MC books by Lena and I have to say, I LOVED this book and can not wait to see where this group goes. Yes, I did have to go back and make sure I was reading the first book since Cross does take you “back” in time to when things happen with his daughter. But that is due to the last set of books with the Viper’s guys. But you DO NOT have to read those books to highly enjoy this book.
Cross is a wonderful father for as much as he wants to get involved. Lily understands what is going on and just wants her father to be safe and live a “normal” life. So when she starts acting out at school and is sent to the new guidance counselor who happens to be Roxanne. Cross has no problem becoming a hands on father.
This is an emotional story from the very first page to the last page. I loved it and was so intrigued with the characters I really could not put the book down. Great book and diffidently one to read!
