This is book # 8 in Paranormal in Manhattan
Mystery series. It can be read as a stand alone.
The past and the present so the story flows effortlessly.
I volunteered to read Wicked, Manor, and Murder.
Thanks to the author for the opportunity. My opinion
is my own.
Wickedly Ever After: Halloween Hijinks by Lotta Smith is book #8 in the series and was a fun and easy read.
I really enjoyed meeting Clara, Rick’s stepmom. She is a vibrant woman who truly loved Rick and Dan. I especially enjoyed her dancing with Rick and Dan at the wedding because she “borrowed” Rick’s biological mother’s body to do it. Jackie is back and has become friends with Clara so it wasn’t a surprise when they showed up to ask for Mandy and Rick’s help with a recent ghost who is disturbing his “neighbors” at the cemetary.
This was a fast paced plot with more emphasis on how to bring the murderer to justice than solving “who done it”. Mandy once again finds herself in a tight spot but is rescued by a new character that I would love to see more of in the next book. I’m already looking forward to the next book in the series.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. All of the above opinions are my own.
“Wickedly Ever After: Halloween Hijinks” earns 5/5 Ghostly Pleas for Assistance!
Wow! Although this series was first introduced in 2016, I only recently became a big fan of Lotta Smith’s Paranormal in Manhattan Mystery: Pesky ghosts? Pleas from dead relatives? Murder, not suicide? All this and trying to find marital bliss is what envelopes newlyweds Amanda Meyers and Rick Rowling. Don’t be fooled by the quirky paranormal overtones, the story is not juvenile hocus pocus. Smith has penned very entertaining and engaging predicaments mixed with endearing connections between husband and wife, and them and…ghosts. I have only read two previous books of the eight, and they are standalones that provide enough background and character connections to delight newbies and make fans of us all. I highly recommend this whole series; you can jump into the deep end or you wade in slowly reading the previous seven books quickly since they are all less than 200 pages, but either way you will be great entertained.
